  CONSTANTLY — Claude K. Todd, 79, died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital.
   A life resident of Constantia, he was a manufacturers agent for the George Stringer Co.for many years.
  He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Constantia, and also of Scriba Masonic Lodge 414, and the Central City Bodies of Syracuse.
  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Louise Miller Todd; three daughters, Mrs. Harry McKibben of Utica, Mrs. George Eggert of Lake Valhalla, N. J., and Mrs. M. A. Parish of Camillus; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
  Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Traub Funeral Home, Central Square. Burial will be in West Monroe
Cemetery.
  Calling hours at the funeral home are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
  Contributions may be made to the Trinity Church Improvement Fund.

 - Obituary (The Leader - Herald, Gloversville - Johnstown, NY, Wednesday, May 20, 1970)
  Mrs. Bernice B. Edwards, 87, of St. Joseph, Mich., a former Gloversville resident, died Sunday at the Shoreham Nursing Homeat St. Joseph where she had been a patien for the past year.
  She was bom Jan. 30, 1883, at St. Joseph and was graduated in 1903 at the University of Michigan. She taught school in Michigan and in Indiana until 1912 when she was married to Herbert D. Edwards of Gloversville.
   Mrs. Edwards resided in Gloversville from the time of her marriage until the death of her husband in 1959 when she moved back to St Joseph.
   Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. W. F. Garrity Jr. of Madison, N.J.; one sister, Mrs. Mark T. Shearer of St. Joseph and three grandsons.
  A funeral service for Mrs. Edwards was held at 10 this morning at the Walrath and Bushouer Funeral Home with Rev. Graeme R. C. Veitch, pastor of the Kingsborough Presbyterian Church, officiating.
  Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery

  Mrs. Louise M.Harter, 789, of 1142 Elm St., died yesterday in Faxton Hospital after a short illness.
  She was born Oct. 15, 1881, in Switzerland, daughter of Christopher and Catherine Klopfenstein. She came to Utica in 1883. In 1905, she was married to Clarence J. Blancher. He died in 1924. Later she married Schuyler Harter, who died in 1941.
  Mrs. Harter was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the societies of that church.
  She was a member for 54 years of the Golden Star Rebekah Lodge 243, and a past noble grand. She was a member of the past noble grand society; the Imperial Court 17, Order of Ameranth; and the Ever Faithful Social Club.
   She leaves a son, Howard W. Blancher of Cassville; a sister, Mrs. Rose Parks of Utica; two grandchildren; a cousin, several nieces and nephews.
  The funeral will be at 11 Saturday from her residence with Pastor Alfred J. Schroder of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the New Forest Cemetery.
  Calling hours will be at the residence today and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
  The Golden Star Rebekah Lodge members will conduct ritualist services at the home at 7:30 tomorrow. Themembers of the Imperial Court will conduct their services at 7:45 tomorrow.

  Mohawk - Jacob W. Harter, 66, widely-known farmer and dairyman, died unexpectedly Aug. 29, 1946, at his farm home in the Warren Road which he had operated for the last 39 years.
  He was born Jan. 5, 1880, in the Town of Columbia, the son of Norman and Lottie Schuyler Harter. He attended local schools and was a graduate of the Cornell University agricultural course.
  When Herkimer County was the center for the manufacture of Cheddar cheese about 40 year s ago, Mr. Harter operated the Columbia Center factory for about 10 years. He later acquired the present farm on the Warren Road near the Ilion reservoir and for 32 years had conducted a milk route in Ilion and Mohawk.
  He attended the Ilion Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Mohawk Fish and Game Club and Fort Dayton Grange.
   He was married Dec. 18, 1901, in Mohawk to Miss Florence M. Whitney who survives with his step-mother. Mrs. Catherine L. Harter, Columbia Center; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Miller, Ilion, and Mrs. Mildred Pelton, Mohawk; a son, Norman J., Rome; a sister, Mrs. Lena Bubb, Cedarville; several nieces and nephews.

  At the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whitne, of Fern Cliff, occurred the marriage of their oldest daughter, Florence May, to Jacob W. Harter, youngest son of Norman J. Harter of Columbia Centre. The ceremony was performed by Rev. F. T. W. Lehman in the presence of the immediate relatives of the contracting parties. After a wedding trip to New York they will return to Columbia to reside on Mr. Harter's father's farm. Mr. Harter will take full charge of his father's farm and cheese factory for the coming year.

  ILION - Mrs. Mildred L. Pelton, 58, of Frankfort RD 3, died yesterday in Herkimer Memorial Hospital.
  She was born in Mohawk, daughter of Jacob and Florence Whitney Harter. She was married to Richard Pelton in 1938. He was killed in a London buzz bomb attack in 1944.
  Mrs. Pelton was a secretary for several area firms including Remington Rand. She was a member of the Ilion MethodistChurch and an officer of the Herkimer County Humane Society
  Besides her mother, she leaves a sister, Mrs. Robert (Marie) Miller, Mohawk.
  The funeral will be at 10:45 Wednesday from the Applegate Funeral Home with the Rev. Carleton VanOrnum, pastor of Ilion Methodist Church, officiating. Buriel will be in Mohawk Cemetery.

  Mies Mildred Harter, private secretary to Harold Day, plant manager of Remington-Rand, was honored last week with two pre-nuptlal showers. She will be married Saturday to Richard Pelton, Herkimer, employee in Plant 1 ot Remington-Rand.
  Thirty girls met Monday night in the clubrooms of Rand Employees Association and presented Miss Harter with a mirror and occasional chair.
  On last Friday she was showered at her home on Warren road, Mohawk, by Her mother, Mrs. J. W. Harter, and sister Marie. Sixteen ladies attended.

  Mohawk - Robert F. Miller 60, of Warren Road, a native of Herkimer, died yesterday in Herkimer Memorial Hospital.
  Mr. Miller was born in Herkimer, a son of Bernard and Phila Fuller Miller. He married Marie Harter in 1939 in Ilion. He worked in the maintenance division of Sperry Rand UNIVAC.
  Mr. Miller was a member of the llion Fish and Game Club, Utica Dog Training Club; and Mohawk Valley Coin Club, and St. Augustine's Episcopal Church, Ilion.
  He leaves his wrfe; three sisters, Mrs. Alfred (Blanche) Maury, llion; Mrs. Ralph (Gertrude) Blauvelt of LeRoy and Miss Florence Miller, Herkimer; four brothers, Arthur and Herbert of Herkimer; Edwin, in Florida, and Vincent, Utica.
  The funeral will be at 1:30 tomorrow from the Applegate Funeral Home, Ilion. the Rev. Robert W. Withington, rector of St Augustine's Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mohawk Cemetery.
  Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today.

  Mohawk — Norman J. Harter, 38, of Town of Schuyler, died Aug. 30, 1951, at the Jacob Harter farm, Warren Rd.
 He was born Aug. 5, 1913, a son of Jacob and Florence Whitney Harter. He was employed as a maintenance worker at the Grtffiss Air Force Base, Rome, since 1945, when he was discharged from the Army. He served in the Army six and one-half years and more than three years overseas.
  He was a member of the Michael S Plisck Poet, VFW, Herkimer, and a Rome American Legion Post. He attended the Ilion First Presbyterian Church.
  Surviving are his mother. Mrs. Jacob Harter, Schuyler; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Pelton, Schuyler, and Mrs. Marie Miller, Ilion; several aunts, and cousins.
  The funeral service will be Sunday at 2:30 from the Applegate Funeral Home, Ilion. with the Rev. Paul Wagner officiating. Burial will be in the Mohawk Cemetery.
