  Mrs. Elizabeth Pluff, wife of Edward Pluff of 414 Schenectady street, died in Utica on Monday. Mrs. Pluff was born in St. Johnsville and had lived in this city about 15 yearr. She left here for Utica about eight months ago and most of that time had been ill there.
  The funeral service will, fee held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at Fred Glock's funeral rooms, 30 Ja y street, and burial will be in the Vale Cemetery here
  Mrs. Pluff was the daughter of the late Peter and Catherine Kring of Little Falls, Besides her husband, she leaves four sisters. Mrs. John Zeller, Mrs. Mary Bryan and Mrs. Nellie Cembes [?] all of Amsterdam, and Mrs. Emma Nelson of this city.

  Edward Pluff, a retired farmer, who died last Monday at his home on the Stone Roble road, in Schenectady County, was burled this afternoon in Green Hill Cemetery here following funeral services at the Kivlin and Campbell funeral home in Schenectady.
   Mr. Pluff, whose wife was the late Mrs. Elizabeth Kring Pluff, was a native of Fulton.

  The funeral of William Henry O'Brien, was held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon at his home, S. Hamilton street, the Rev. Dr. Henry T. McEwen of the Second Presbyterian church officiating. Interment was in Green Hill, members of the family acting as bearers.   Sarah A. Kring, wife of John L. Zeller, died at her home, 6 Hamilton street, after an Illness of several months, at the age of 67 years. She was born in Little Falls, but came to Amsterdam immediately after her marriage, in 1884 and has since been a resident of this city. Mrs. Zeller was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, two stepsons, Andrew of Amsterdam and George of Schenectady, and four grandchildren, John N. of the United Stales coast guard, at New London, Conn.; Zelma of the Albany City Hospital and Neomi and George Zeller jr. of Schenectady, and three sisters, Mrs. Mathias Combes of Teller's Station and Mrs. Mary O'brien and Mrs. Emma Mason of Schenectady.

 - Obituary (Amsterdam Evening Recorder, NY, Tuesday, February 17, 1931)
  John L Zeller, aged 76 years, one of Amsterdam's pioneer blacksmiths, died this morning at 6:15 o'clock at the home of his son, Andrew Zeller, 207 West Main street where he has made his home since the death of his wife two years ago. Mr. Zeller formerly lived at 8 Hamilton street, where he conducted his business.
  Mr. Zeller wa s born September 21, 1855, at the homestead on the corner of East Main and Hamilton streets, now the site of the Max Gray store. He was the son of Andrew and Rachel DeGraff Zeller and had always made his home in this city. He attended the old East Main street, school and the Amsterdam academy, which was at that time located at East Main and Chuctanunda streets. Mr. Zeller was a staunch Democrat and was one of the oldest voters in the third ward. He was excise commissioner at one time, holding office with Christian Eitelman and Charles Stephens. He never held public office, although he was several times besought by his party members to represent them.
  Mr. Zeller's father was a blacksmith, and as a boy Mr. Zeller entered his father's shop, learning the trade, and on the death of his father continued the business, which is still located on Hamilton street under the name of John L. Zeller & Son, Mr. Zeller having taken his son Andrew into business with him 37 years ago. Mr. Zeller was an ardent huntsman and fisherman and a great lover of fine horses. In the days of harness racing he owned several horses and entered, many races throughout the county. He was a man who had many friends, for he was kind-hearted and was always ready to be of service to those who appealed to him.
  Mr. Zeller is survived by two sons, Andrew of Amsterdam and George ot Schenectady, and four grandchildren, Ensign John M. Zeller, of New London, Conn, Zelma ot Albany, Naomi and George, Jr., of Schenectady.

  Seymour Nelson, 59, a General Electric company employe, who had been ill but a few days with heart trouble died at his home, in Schenectady street Wednesday. He will be buried on Saturday in the Vale cemetery after a private funeral service held at his late home. Rev. Herbert H. Shimer of the First English Lutheran church of which he was a member, will have charge.
  Mr. Nelson was a native of Little Falls. He had lived in Mlddleville, Herkimer county, two years. Mr. Nelson had been in Schenectady about 20 years.
  Besides his wife he leaves a son, William K. Nelson, of Ogdensburg, a brother, Arnold Nelson, of Middleville, and two sisters, living in Youngstown, Ohio, and Little Falls.

  Lasselsville ... Many friends of Obediah Duesler were shocked to hear of his death at Utica Friday. Mr Duesler was a former resident in this place and was born about one mile west of this village and spent the greater part of his life in this vicinity. Several years ago he moved to St. Johnsville. He is survived by his widow, Mary and four daughters, Elizabeth, May, Alice and Pearl, lso one brother, Edward of Little Falls. the funeral services were held at his late residence, upper St. Johnsville thursday at 11 o'clock. Interment in the upper St. Johnsville cemetery.

While driving from St. Johnsville to his home and at a point near Kring's Bush, about half way between St. Johnsville and Lassellsville, his team backed down an embankment, a distance of about fourty feet. His horses were badly injured being bruised and scratched in several places. Mr. Kring wassomewhat shaken up but sustained no very serious injury.

  St. Johnsville, April 6 (?). - Albert Kring died Saturday at his residence at the hotel at Lassellsville, aged about 55 years. He was the son of John Kring, formerly a well known resident of Fulton County, and his wife, Asenath. He is survived by his widow. Jane A. Dygert Kring; one son, Raymond, and two daughters. Jennie and Asenath. all of whom are residents of Lassellville; and three sisters, Alice, wife of George Smith of Beulah, Kan.; Libbie, wife of Levii Smith of Lassellsville, and Mary, wife of O H. Duesler of West street St Johnsvllle.

  Mrs. Jennie Phelan, 76, of Lassellsville, died Monday night at 7:30 at the home of her brother, Raymond Kring, 12 Newman street, Gloversville. She had been visiting at his home for a short time, and had been ill only a few days.
  The deceased was born in Lassellsville, and had been a lifelong resident there. She was a member of the Methodist church, and had taken an active part in its work.
  The only survivor is the brother with whom she was visiting at the time of her death.
   Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at, 2 at the Eugene Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second avenue, Rev.  Webster, pastor of the Lassellsville Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Prospect Hill cemetery in Gloversville.

  John F. Phelan, 81, of Lassellsville, died this morning at 10:15 in Littauer- hospital where he had been a patient 10 days. He had been ill for two years.
  Mr. Phelan was born in New York city and conducted a piano finishing business, which he learned from his father in that city. In 1906 he was married to Jennie Kring of Lassellsville and had since resided in that village, where he operated a refinishing and antique business.
  He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. He was a member of the Spanish-American War Veterans in Amsterdam.
  Besides his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mame Land of the Bronx and Mrs. Margaret; O'Neil of Morristown, N. J., and several nieces and nephews in New York city.
  The funeral will be held in the Eugene Hollenbeck, Jr., funeral
home, 4 Secomnd avenue, Friday at 3, with the Rev. Leland Webster of the St. Johnsville-Lassellsville Methodist churches officiating.
  Burial will be in Prospect Hill cemetery.
