Hoerle -- Edwin, 88, Chambers, passed away Saturday evening (11/1/03) at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh. Born, Bliss (5/13/15) to Kasper and Barbara (Oetter). On Jan. 22, 1945, Edwin joined the U.S. Navy, serving his country in World War II. He received his discharge June 21, 1945. He married Frances Cady, Aug. 28, 1949, at Chambers.
He was a rancher and owned and operated the Hoerle Steel Business in Chambers, selling iron for 53 years. In 1950, he started selling welders and light plants, and in 1952 he was top salesman for Forney Welders. For many years he was also top salesman for Behlen Manufacturing. He was a member of the Chambers American Legion Post 320 for 53 years and of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chambers.

Survivors: daughters, Barbara Petersen and husband, Mike, Lincoln, Kathy Zegers, and husband, Larry, Elgin; son, Duane, O'Neill; grandsons, Brian, Troy and Kevin Petersen, all Lincoln. Preceded in death by wife, Frances (1/4/91); six sisters; six brothers.

Spent 13 years in the U.S. Air Force; schooled in missile systems analysis; refrigeration specialist; firefighting and aircraft crash and rescue; intelligence officer. Honorably discharged in 1965. A&P mechanic, factory schools on Learjet, Swearingen, Turbo Commander, Beechcraft, Hawker, Cessna Citation and Cessna 300/400 series aircraft. Employed as FAAinspector in Kansas City, Mo., Lincoln after employee: Dynalectron Corp., Fort Worth, Texas; Riley Turbostream, Waco Texas; Duncan Aviation, Lincoln; Airsearch Aviation, Houston. Joe retired in 2001, hoping to devote his time to gardening, hunting and fishing. He loved to cook for his family as well.

   Jemison -- Jean, 83, Aurora, died Monday morning (11/3/03) at Memorial Community Care. Jean Lucille Jemison, the daughter of Charles and Martha (Sharp) Jemison, was born in Aurora, on Aug. 31, 1920. She grew up in Giltner and graduated from Giltner High School. Jean went on to graduate from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She became a guidance counselor at Millard Lefler Junior High in Lincoln. Jean worked there until her retirement. She moved to Aurora in 1996 to be near her sister, who also moved to Aurora from New York.
   Jean was a member of the United Methodist Church at Giltner and had attended the Church in Aurora since moving here. She was an avid Cornhusker fan. Jean did a lot of traveling over the years, some of her travels included researching her genealogy that was a real passion of hers. Jean was a member of the National Genealogy Society and the D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution).
   Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Caroline Nydegger of Aurora and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, LeRoy and Earl Jemison; and sisters, Agnes Schrock and Inez Wright.
