WATERTOWN — Funeral services for Charles M Getman. 77, retired superintendent of the department of public works. Who died suddenly Saturday afternoon in his dining room chair, will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence. The Rev. Hale F. Thornberry. pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will take place at North Watertown Cemetery.
Mr. Getman s death was due to a coronary thrombosis. He had not been in the best of health but had walked to the business section of the city on Friday. Saturday, after finishing lunch, he suddenly slumped over in his chair, dead.
Mr. Getman was born at Chaumont, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William H. Getman. He had worked for the old C. R. Remington paper mills at Brownvllle and Glen Parle, and was superintendent of the C R. Remington line that operated from Redwood to Alexandria Bay.
He also had worked for the International Paper Company mills at Grand Mere, Quebec, and Piercefleld.
He came to this city in April, 1906, and became superintendent of the department of public works. He was retired on a pension on July 1. 1936.
He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Nellie Dixon, whom he married at Pamelia in December, 1891; two daughters, Mrs. Olive G. Morgan and Mrs. Ruth Martell, and a sister, Mrs. Irene Morgan, all of this city.

Roswell Grappotte, formerly of this city, died Monday night in Indianapolis, Ind., aged about 26 years, death being due to pneumonia, from which he had been ill since Thursday. His sister, the late Miss Pearl Grappotte, died in this city last January and be was here to attend her funeral.
Mr Grappotte wss born here and lived in this city until six years ago when he went to Indianapolis where he was employed as a watchmaker in a large jewelry store. While in Watertown he worked at the soda fountain in the Cahill & Rogers drug stores. His mother, the late Abbie Grappotte, died some time ago, Surviving are his father, Moses Grappotte, of Alberta, Canada: two sisters, Miss Mabel Grappotte of Indianapolis, lnd., who was with him when be died and Miss Viola Grappotte of Ogdensburg. An uncle, Oeorge Grappotte, lives in this city.
Mr. Grappotte was aa overseas veteran, holding the rank of sergeant. He returned to this country last July.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Stephen W. Getman, 77, of 418 Portage St. a retired New York Air Brake Co., machinist died at 1:55 p.m. Saturday at the House of the Good Samaritan where he was admitted Friday.

Born Feb. 22, 1899, at Theresa, a son of DeWitt and Elmira Russell Getman, he served In the Navy from Feb. 23, 1917 until May 17, 1917, when he received a medical discharge.
He married Winnie Mae Brown Feb. 23, 1918, at Carthage. The couple resided 23 years at Munns Corners while Mr. Getman was employed at the St Regis Paper Co., Deferiet. The couple then moved to Watertown and Mr. Getman was employed as a machinist at the New York Air Brake 23 years, retiring in August, 1968.

She married Stephen W. Getman Feb. 23, 1918 at Grace Chuech, Carthage.
The couple lived 23 years at Munns Corners while he worked at St. Regis Paper Co., Deferiet. They came to Watertown in 1962.
Mr. Getman retired as a New York Air Brake machinist in August 1968 after 25 years service. He died April 3, 1976 at the age of 77.

WALRATH—In Evans Mills, March 25, 1920. Mrs Ida Getman Walrath, aged nearly 62 years, wife of Lewis Walrath.
Funeral Sunday afternoon at 2 from the home and at 2:30 from the Presbyterian church.

Evans Mills March 37. — The funeral of Mrs. Ida Getman Walrath, wife of Lewis Warlrath, who died suddenly Thursday afternoon, will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 from the home and at 3:30 from the Presbyterian church. Burial win be made at Evans Mills.
Mrs. Walrath had been in ill health for some time. Feeling slightly better on Thursday afternoon, she left her bed and entered a chair. A sudden attack of heart failure overcame her and she died in the chair.
Mrs. Walrath was born at Orleans Oct. 9, 1858, one of a famlly of ten children born to Stephen and Mary Getman. When she waa about I4 years of age, she moved with the family to Evans Mills and had since resided here, later marrying Mr. Walrath. They lived on a farm outside the village for several years, finally removing to their present home. Mrs. Walrath was the first of the family of children to die. Her mother. Mrs. Getman, is still living and although 84 years of age, is in good health. Mrs. Walrath was a member of the Eestera Star.
Surviving, besides the mother and husband, are two brothers, A. D. Getman of Watertown and M. D. Getman of Orleans; seven sisters, Mrs. Nancy Smith of Galt Mo.; Mrs. William Gladwin of Brownville, Mrs. Charles Getman of Pamella, Mrs, William Paul and Mrs. Orville Walts of Evans, Mrs. Fred Stopforth and Mrs. Fred E. Knapp of Watertown. There also survive a son. Joseph Walrath. of Evans Mills and a daughter. Mrs. Phillip Ketchel, of Philadelphia.

Theresa, Nov. 8.—At his home in Evans Mills Thursday evening at about 10, occurred the death of Lewis I. Walradt, 75. Death resulted from advanced years and a complication of diseases.
He was born May 27, 1851, son of Isaac and Anna Walradt and his entire life was spent in the vicinity of Evans Mills. His wife died several years ago. His grandfather was John Adam Walradt, and came from Montgomery county in 1800.
He is survived by one son, Joseph Walradt of Evans Mills: one daughter, Mrs. Orrin Kiechel, of Philadelphia: also five grand children, Misses Ida May and Katherine Walradt of Evans Mills; and Karl Paul and Esther Kiechel of Philadelphia.
The funeral will be held from the home, Sunday afternoon at 2. Interment will be in Redwood cemetery. The bearers will be Fred Knapp, Andrew Getman, Fred Stopforth, Orville Walts, William Paul and Monre Getman.

Evans Mills, Jan. 23. -- William E. Paul, 67, died Tuesday at 2 p.m. at his home in this village.
He was born in the town of Philadelphia Feb. 3, 1861, a son of Edwin and Caroline Hudson Paul. At the age of 7 he went with his parents to the town of Leray. He had resided in that town until a year ago. On Sept. 26, 1888, he married Matilda Getman who survives.
Besides his widow he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James F. Taylor, Watertown, and Miss Bertha E. Paul; three sons, Emery E. Paul, Wilfred S. Paul and Chester A. Paul, all of Evans Mills; one brother, George B. Paul, Long Beach, Calif.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 from the home, Rev. James Keeling, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiating. Interment will be made in Evans Mills cemetery.

William H Walts, of Brownville, died this morning at the City hospital, where be underwent a surgical operation yesterday afternoon. Mr. Walts was a well-known and respected citizen of Brownville., and until his last illness was employed as a pattern maker in the Brownville Iron Works. He was 41 years of age, and is survived by his wife and one daughter, Bessie May Walts.
The funeral will be held from the late residence of the deceased at Brownville, Friday forenoon, and the interment will be at Brownville.

Brownville - July 8 -- Mr. William R. Gladwyn, 83, died this morning in this village Sunday afternoon following an illness of two years. At that time, he suffered a stroke and during the past week his condition grew steadily weaker.
Mr. Gladwyn was born February 10, 1846, son of William and Charlotte Hamblin Gladwyn. He was a carpenter by trade and for many years was employed by Leonar d & Gilmore Company and Binninger & Strange Company, both of Dexter. For the past two years he had been employed. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Brownville and at the time of his death held the office of steward. Mr Gladwyn was married twice, his first wife being Miss Priscilla Wallace of Bownville whom he married on November 18, 1866. She died on July 3, 1901 and on June 29, 1904 he married Mrs. Anna Walts who survives him. Other survivors are one daughter by his first wife, Mrs. Herbert Conklin of Hounsfield, one grandson, William Conklin of Hounsfield, two grandchildren, Elaine and Leonard Conklin of Hounsfield, one sister, Mrs. Charlotte Prame, Lowville.
Funeral services will be conducted at his home on Tuesday at 2 p.m. by Rev. W. Bradley, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Brownville. Burial will be made in Dexter.
