  Mrs. Lulu H. Herman of 401 1/2 Highland Ave., East Syracuse, died yesterday in her home after a long illness.
  Born in Syracuse, Mrs. Herman lived in East Syracuse most of her life. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. East Syracuse. Onondaga Chapter 144, OES. and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen Auxiliary.
  Surviving are her husband, Arthur L. Herman; two sons, Kenneth L. of Long Island City and William C. Herman of East Syracuse; a daughter, Mrs. floyd Milback of East Syracuse; eight grandchildren and one niece.
Services will be Thursday at a time to be announced, at the Welter Funeral Home, 2649 James St. The Rev. William C. Langston will officizate.
  Burial will be in Fayetteville Cemetery.
  Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.

 - Obituary (Watertown Daily Times, NY, Thursday, March 25, 1965)
  Carthage, March 25.—Mrs. Florence Becker Roseboom, 84, widow of Charles C. Roseboom and for 50 years a resident of Carthage, died in an Ogdensburg hospital Wednesday afternoon. She had been hospitalized three months.
  The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian church with Rev. Roger Purdy, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery, later in the spring.
  Friends may call at the Johnson funeral home, Dexter, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
  Surviving Mrs. Roseboom are a son.Clyde B., Brownville; a sister, Mrs. Laura Dashley, Syracuse, and two grandchildren, Mrs. Paul (Diane) Slate, Brownville, and Capt. John H. Roseboom, in the air force in Germany.
  Mrs. Roseboom was born Dec. 27, 1880, on Point Peninsula, a daughter of Almanzo F. and Katherine Getman Becker. Her early life was spent there. On June 10, 1903, she was married to Charles Camp Roseboom of Cape Vincent at Point Peninsula.
  Mr. Roseboom was an undertaker, first conducting the Cape Vincent branch of the Empie and Box firm, later purchasing the business and operating it for 16 years. On Feb. 1, 1915, he established his business at the funeral home in Carthage which he operated until his death Feb. 20, 1934, at the age of 58.
  Mrs. Roseboom continued to live in Carthage until last fall when she went to live with her son, before she was admitted to Carthage hospital after suffering a stroke.
  She was a member of the First Presbyterian church and the Carthage chapter of
the O.E.S.

Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Beulah Becker, brother Calvin, both of this village, and aunts. She was born at Point Peninsula Aug. 3, 1940, a daughter of John and Beulah Pennock Becker.

Deceased was born in the town of Manheim March 5, 1860 and spent the greater part of her life at Elm Grove, town of Manheim. She is survived by her husband, Charles Herning who also lived at the home of his son George, by two sons, Roland Snyder of New Jersey who is a son by a former marriage and George of this village, also by two sisters Mrs. Oe Gifford, Jordanville and Mrs. Thomas Ryan, Dolgeville and one brother Daniel Loucks, Henderson, and one grandson Charles Herning, also several nieces and nephews.
  Funeral services will be held from the home Thursday at 2 o'clock, the Rev. R. A. Geddes, pastor of St. John's Reformed church officiating. Burial will be made in Inghams Mills.

  ST. JOHNSVILLE - Funeral services for Roland D. Snyder, 81, of 27 Edgewood Road, Madison, N.J., who died Saturday at his cottage at Old Forge, were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Lull funeral home in St. Johnsville.
 The Rev. Robert A. Geddes, pastor of St. John's Reformed Church, officiated. Interment was in Inghams Mills Cemetery.
  Mr. Snyder was born in the Town of Minden on Aug. 2, 1884, a son of David and Eliza Loucks Snyder. He had resided in New Jersey since 1911 and had been in ill health for some time.
  He was a retired employe of the Public Service Utility Co., commercial department at Newark, N.J. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 93, at Madison, N.J.
  He is survived by his wife, Olive M. Snyder, who was with him at Old Forge; one nephew, Capt. Charles Herning of the U.S. Air force, stationed at San Antonio, Tex., who also was at the Old Forge camp; also several cousins.

  Charles P. Herning. 75, lifelong resident or this vicinity, died Saturday evening in Little Falls Hospital He had been ill for several months.
  Herning was born in the Town of Danube on February 3, 1866 a son of George A. and Matilda Petrie Herning. He conducted a farm for some years, and also was a skilled carpenter.
  There survive one son, George A. Herning, St. Johnsvllle, with whom he made his home; one stepson, Roland Snyder, Maplewood. N. J.; one sister, Mrs. Cora Getman, Town of Minden; one grandson, Charles Herning, St. Johnsville.
  The funeral was held at the home of the son on West Main Street this afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev, Peter J. Westra, pastor of St. John's Reformed Church, this village, officiated, assisted by the Rev. David A. Davy, D. D., retired Lutheran clergyman. Burial was in Inghams Mills Cemetery.

  DOLGEVILLE - Fred Loucks, a well known farmer residing in the vicinity of Emmonsburg, died last week in the hospital at Gloversville. He was taken there three weeks ago as suffering from a complication of diseases: Mr. Loucks was born 59 years ago last April in the town of Oppenheim and all of his life had been spent in that section. He was highly esteemed for his excellent qualities! Surviving besides the wife, are his mother, Mrs. W. D. Snyder of this village; three children, Herbert and Frederick Loucks of Emmonsburg and Mrs. Ralph Skakel of Johnstown; a brother, Daniel of Jordanville; a sister, Mrs. Charles Herning of Fort Plain; and two half sisters, Mrs. Thomas Ryan of this village and Mrs Frank Gifford of Jordanville. Undertaker Moore of this village conveyed the remains to the late home of the deceased, from where the funeral service was held Friday afternoon, Rev. Charles Shumway of Salisbury Center Officiating.

 EMMONSBURG - At the Gloversville hospital, Tuesday, June 7, occured the death of Fred Loucks, a lifelong resident of this place. Deceased was 59 years of age. He is survived by his widow, Formerly Hannah Atkinson, by three children, Mrs. Ralph Skakel of Johnstown, Herbert  and Fred Jr. of this place: also by his mother, three sisters and a brother. The funeral was held Friday afternoon from the late home and was largely attended, testifying to the high esteem in which he was held. Rev.   Herbert Loucks, 81, Youker Bush Road, St. Johnsville RD 1, died last night at his home.
  He was born March 5, 1885, in the Town of Oppenheim, the son of Fred and Hattie Youcher Loucks. In 1921 he married the former Elizabeth Snell, who died in 1961. He owned and operated a farm in Lotville until his retirement in 1949. He had since resided in the Town of Ephratah. He was of the Methodist faith.
  Loucks is survived by one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Skakel, Johnstown; several nieces and nephews.

14077. Frederick Loucks Jr

 - Newspaper Article (The Morning Herald, Gloversville and Johnstown, NY, Friday, August 5, 1924)
  Fred Loucks, 19 year old half brother of Mrs. Ralph W. Skakel. 203 Burton.street, and who was employed by the Adirondack Light and Power Company, was drowned Tuesday evening at 8:80 while swimming In Inghams mill pond in the western part
of Fulton county.
  The body was recovered with grappling Irons after an hour's effort and Dr. F. M. Barney and Dr. C. O. Strobel of Dolgeville worked over him for an hour and a half, but without success.
  Loucks had been in the water some time when the drowning occurred and was a good swimmer, it is said. He dove off the dam and started to swim across the lake. When he was about half way across he was seen to go down.
   One of the fellows in bathing with him, went to his assistance, and was pulled under water by Loucks when the latter went down twice, but managed to break the grip Loucks had on his wrist.
  The body was removed to the establishment of Undertaker Moore at Dolgevllle to be prepared for burial. Dr. J. W, Joslin, coroner of this city, was notified and directed by F. M. Barney of Dolgeville to take charge of the case.
   The body was taken to the home of Herbert Loucks, a half brother, in Emmonsburg, Town of Oppenheim, with whom the young lad had made his home for the past two or three years. He was the son of Fred Loucks and. Anna Smith, but both parents are dead. He had been an employe of the Adirondack company for about a year.
  The funeral will he held this afternoon at 2 at the home ot his half-brother. Rev. Shumway, pastor of the Methodist church at Salisbury Center will officiate, and interment will be made in the Smith-Cramer cemetery.

  CANASTOTA - The sudden death of Adam DeLos Loucks occurred at the Canastota hospital Saturday evening after an illness of six days. Mr. Loucks was well known in this village having been proprietor of the Twogood House for several years. He also operated several other hotels in central New York during his life. He was 53 years of age. He was the son of Elias and Christina Loucks and was born at Manheim. Funeral services will be held at the Dolgevllle Universalist church Wednesday afternoon. Burial will be made in the Dolgeville cemetery. Surviving are his widow and six daughters, Mrs. DeVerne Lewis of Canastota, the Misses Dora, May, Anna, Helen and Mrs. Raymond Barcalow of Jordanville and one son George Loucks of Dolgevllle and mother, Mrs. William D.   CANASTOTA. Oct. 25. - The death of Adam Delos Loucks, 53, for a quarter of a century a well known hotel proprietor of Central New York, occurred at the Canastota Hospital, following: a six days' illness with typhoid pneumonia.
  The body will be taken by Preston & Hough, undertakers, to Dolgevllle, where the funeral will be held in the Unlversalist Church Wednesday afternoon with interment in the cemetery in that village.
  Mr. Loucks was for three years proprietor of the Twogood House. With his family he but a few days ago removed back to Canastota from South Columbia, where he had conducted the Cross House for eighteen months.
  Mr. Loucks was born at Manheim, a son of Elias and Christiana Smith Loucks. His first experience as a hotel proprietor was at Manheim Center, where about twenty-five years ago he conducted the Timmerman House. He was later for nine years a hotel proprietor at Vanhornesville and also conducted hotels at Mohawk and Dolgevllle. He was a member of Dolgevllle lodge of Odd Fellows.
  Surviving besides his widow is his aged mother, Mrs. William D. Snyder of Dolgevllle; six daughters, Mrs. Deverne Lewis, Miss Dora Loucks, Miss May Loucks, Miss Anna Loucks and Miss Helen Loucks of this village, and Mrs. Raymond Barcalow of Jordanville; a son, George Loucks of Dolgevllle; two brothers, Fred Loucks of Emmondsburg and Daniel Loucks of Henderson, and three sisters.
