After nearly a half score years beyond the allotted time of four score years and tan, one of the oldest and most respected inhabitants of this county departed this life June 10,1905.
Isaac Schell waa born in Herkimer, N. Y., June 14, 1815. At about 15 years of age he accompanied his parents
to Jefferson county, where they, with several other Herkimer families, settled in the town of Orleans. He was the eldest of 10 children, three of whom survive him. Mrs. Betsey Helmer and Mrs. Adelia Gurney of Steuben county and Solomon Schell of Oklahoma.
Jan 4, 1844. Mr. Schell was married to Miss Rhoda Harter, since whose death in 1894 nearly 11 years of waiting have been added to his already long and useful life.
His funeral waa conducted at his home near Stone Mills by the pastor of the Orleans Four Corners Lutheran church, only one day previous to what would have been his ninetieth birthday, and he was laid to rest in the quiet little cemetery near by.
One daughter having died in early childhood he is survived by seven children, Mrs. Martha C Clark and Mrs. Mary E. Loomis of Black River, Mrs. Minerva L. Timmerman of Orleans Four Comers, J. Monroe Schell of Sallna, Kas., and David H., Charles A. and J. Franklia Schell of Stone Mills, also by eight grandchildren,

Charles A. Schell, 70, of Stone MIlls, died at his home at 3 this morning after an illness of one year. Mr. Schell had been a life-long resident of Stone Mills, He was unmarried.
He was born Aug. 15, 1855, an Stone Mills, a son of the late Isaac and Rhoda Harter Schell, who were natives of Herkimer. He had always resided on a farm at Stone Mills.
He is survived by three brothers, James Monroe of Salina, Kan., David H. Schell and John Franklin Schell of Stone Mills; three sisters, Mrs Martha Clark, Mrs. Mary Loomis of Black River and Mrs. Miniver Timmerman of Watertown and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the home at 1:30 Thursday afternoon and from the Stone Mills Methodist Episcopal church at 2. Rev. D. J. Buxton, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Stone Mills.
