Alvin Miles, the seven-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Miles of Lyon avenue, who was run over by a freight car in the New York Central yard in this village Saturday afternoon, had his right leg so badly crushed that amputation waa necessary. The little lad with two other children were jumping freights, when the car Alvin was on began to move rapidly and he became frightened and jumped off, and in falling, his leg went under the wheels. The child, on finding he could not walk, crawled over the ground, trying to reach his home, dragging the injured leg, when J. J. Uhlan of Albany, a brakeman, saw him and went to his assistance with "first aid" by tieing up the leg and stopping the flow of blood.  Marvin Cook of Mindenville brought the boy to the office of Dr. C.
