  Camden - Millard M, Helmer, 88, died May 31, 1946, in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Alvord, Camden, RE 1.
  He was born in Phelps Sept 1, 1857, a son of Christopher and Catherine Brooks Helmer. He married Cora Nims in Battle Creek, Mich. on Nov 25, 1885. She died in 1925.
  The y had lived in Geneva and Florence and in 1914 came to the home where he died. He was a member of the United Church.
  Surviving, besides his daughter, is a grandson, Harold Alvord, and two great grandchildren, Robert and Linda.
  The funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow from the B. A. Sanborn & Son Funeral Home, The Rev. B. A. Walton, United Church pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.


Cora A Nims

  Mrs. Cora Nims Helmer, wife of Millard Helmer, of Camden, formerly of Phelps, died last Friday, at the age of 62 years. Mrs. Helmer was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barnard Nims and was born in Phelps, where her early lifeVwas passed, going from here twenty-three years ago.
 She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs, Charles Alvord, two grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs, Fred Smith of Fort Plain.
  Funeral services were held  at the family home on Monday, with burial in the Camden cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Helmer of Phelps, brother and sister-in-law, of the husband, attended the funeral

 - Newspaper Article (Rome Daily Sentinel, no date, 1925)
  Camden, Sept 14—Temporarily Insane from no apparent cause, Mrs. Millard H. Helmer, 61, living on Wolcott Hill road, near here, killed herself early Sunday morning by pouring gasoline over her clothing and setting fire to it.
  Missed by members of the family, when they arose about 6 a. m., a search was started and Charles E. Alvord, her son-in-law, found her in a corn field near her home. Every piece of clothing was burned off and her body charred from head to foot.
  Still alive she was carried into her home where she passed away three hours later. Dr. H. J. Teller, coroner of Rome, waa called, and pronounced the death a suicide.
  Mrs. Helmer apparently was in good spirits on Saturday and had been shopping in Camden.
  Mrs. Helmer was born in Phelps, Feb. 15, 1864, and lived nearly all her life in New York state. Thirtynine years ago she was married at Battle Creek, Mich., to Millard M. Helmer, who survives. She also leaves one daughter, Mrs. Charles Alvord, and two grandsons.
  She was a most estimable woman and was highly respected by all who knew her. She attended the Camden Presbyterian Church a ... [mmissing]

  Phelps, Oct 2 - S. Eugene Helmer, 86, died at his home here Saturday (Sept. 29, 1945) after a short illness, following the death of his wife by just two years.
  Mr. Helmer was born in Phelps and had lived his entire life here, except for eight years spent in Camden, N. Y. He was one of the, oldest members of the Phelps Presbyterian Church.
  He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Hodges of Phelps, and Mrs. John Rawlinson of Holcomb; five grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren; one brother, Millard of Camden, N. Y.; and three nieces.
  The funeral was held from his late home at 2:30 p. m. today with Phelps Presbyterian Curch officating, with burial in Re---- Cemetery.

   SHELTON E. BAKER.
   Funeral services for Shelton E. BAKER who died Sept 19 (1953) at Silver Star, Mont., were held last Wednesday afternoon at the L.D.S. Chapel in Jackson (Teton County, WYO).
   Shelton E. BAKER was born in Davenport, Iowa, in 1865, to Sarah E. and Theodore James BAKER. He attended school there and then moved west with his parents to Salt Lake City. He worked as a bookkeeper and as a postal clerk for several years in Salt Lake City. Then he and his father took up mining in Binghard and vicinity. Later he moved to Naf, Idaho, where he became interested in ranching, which was to be his life's work.
  He married Beulah CAMPBELL in 1901. Five Children were born to this union: Josephine, Theodore, Augusta, Ruth and Howard. Augusta died in infancy and Theodore passed away eight years ago.
   Mr. BAKER and his family moved to Bondurant, Wyo., in 1910, where he made his home until 1947. At that time he and the remaining members of his family moved to Montana, where he resided at the time of his passing.
   He is survived by his wife Beulah C. BAKER; his daughter and son-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Eugene HOLT of Silver Star, Mont.; his daughter and son-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Grover SNYDER, and their daughter Kathy Jean; his son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Howard BAKER and their son Clifford of Divide, Mont.; and his daughter-in-law Mrs. Theodore BAKER and children, Forrest, Patricia, and James, of Silver Star.

Until his going to Atlanta in 1897, Mr. Piper had always resided in this village, is an alumnus of the Frankfort High School, and was an employee of the West Shore Railroad Company until the removal of the railroad shops from this place. Since that time he has lived in Atlanta, where he holds a responsible position with the Atlanta Locomotive Company, and will continue to make that city his home. He has a host of friends in Frankfort who wish him all happiness and opportunity.
