  CHESLEY RESIDENT DIES IN HOSPITAL
  MRS. CHRISTIAN R. ANKERMANN PASSES FOLLOWING OPERATION
  TORONTO, July 27 - In the death of Marjorie Josephine Ackermann, wife of Christian R. Ackermann, president of the Chesley Chair Factory on Saturd ay at the Privatte Patients Pavillion, Toronto General Hospital, the to wn of Chesley loses one of its most prominent and popular residents. Mr s. Ackermann who was 35 years of age, had suffered only a brief illness, death following an operation. She was the daughter of the late Malcolm S. Schell of Woodstock, Ont. former member of Parliament for South Oxford.
  Active in St. John's United Church, Chesley, Mrs. Ankermann was especially interested as District Secretary of the Women's Missionary Society. She was a graduate of the University of Toronto and a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority. Surviving are her husband and three children, Doria, aged 12, Richard 10 and Mary Louise 5. Her Mother, Mrs. M. S. Schell of Woodstock and one sister, Mrs. (Dr.) P. W. Wright of Hanover, Penn. also survives.
  The funeral service will be held from St. John's United Church, Chesley on Tuesday Afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be at Chesley Cemetery.

CHESLEY, July 30 - Reverent simplicity marked the funeral services on Tues day when MRs. Christiasn R. Ankenmann was borne to her last resting place in Chesley cemetery. A private service for members of the family and close friends was held at her home, and was conducted by her Pastor, the Reverend Allan R. Husband, of St. John's United Church, assisted by the Reverend Charles A. Krug.
   This was followed by a largely attended public service in St. John's Church where the highest tributes were paid to Mrs. Ankenmann's sterling qualities and rare character.
During the service Mrs. Harry B. Krug sang an appropriate solo. Masses of beautiful flowers were banked in profusion about the altar rail. The pallbearers were Dr. J. E. Truamner; Messrs. W. G. Krug, E. Caldwell, F. A. MacLean, W. P. Krug and H. B. Krug, all of Chesley.
 Surviving Mrs. Ankenmann are her husband and three children, Doris, Richard and Mary Lousie, her mother, Mrs. Malcolm Schell of Woodstock, Ont., and her sister, Mrs. F. W. Wright of Hanover, Penn. Mrs. Ankenmann was predeceased by her father, Mr. Malcolm S. Schell, former member of Parliament for South Oxford and her brother, Douglas, who gave his life in the great war.
