  ST. JOHNSVILLE — Wesley Cromer, 89, died at his home in Scotch Bush. Wednesday evening following a long illness.
  Born in the Town of Ephratah, May 25, 1870. he was the son of Peter and Martha Ann Smith Cromer.
  He lived most of his life in the vicinlty of Scotch Bush. He was a retired farmer.
  He married the former Maude Cretser on Jan. 1, 1896 in the Methodist Church parsonage in St. Johnsville. The Rev. George Wood officiated.
  Survivors besides his wife are one son, Oscar Cromer, Scotch Bush, seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Lull funeral home, St. Johnsville, with the Rev.  Charles Montgomery, pastor of St. Johnsville Methodist church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Martin Fellows of Scotch Bush. Burial will be in Mykel Cemetery, Ephratah in the spring.

  St Johnsville--Mrs Maud Cromer, 83, widow of Wesley Cromer, died Monday in her home on Church Rd, Scotch Bush.
  She was born Oct 28 1877 in the Town of Ephratah, the daughter of Leonard and Hattie Lassell Cretser. She had resided nearly all her life in the Scotch Bush area and was a retired glovemaker.
  She was married to Westley Cromer on Jan 1 1896 in St Johnsville Methodist Church.
  She leaves a son, Oscar, Scotch Bush, a sister Mrs. Grace Hayes in Florida, two brothers, Lloyd Cretser, of Johnstown and Milo Cretser of St Johnsville
  The funeral was conducted yesterday from the Lull Funeral Home here with the Rev Martin Fellows, pastor of the Scotch Bush Methodist Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev Charles Mongomery, pastor of the St Johnsville and Lassellsville Methodist Churches.
  Burial will be in Michael Cemetery, Lassellsville in the spring.

  John Richey, formerly of Amsterdam, died at 10 p. m. Monday in the Utica State hospital. He was 81 years of age.

Awilda Earl, Gloversville.

  Aaron Crouse. aged 68 years, of 46 Christie street, Gloversville, died at 11 o'clock Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Gersak, in that city, following an illness of a week and a half of pneumonia.
  Mr. Crouse leaves two daughters, Mrs. Nina Hille, of Lassellsville, and Mrs. Gersak, two sons, Elmer, of Ephratah, and Daniel Crouse, of Gloversville; one brother. Albert Crouse, of Amsterdam: one sister, Mrs. Mellnda Loucks of Sherill, eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock. Tho body will be placed in tho vault at Prospect Hill cemetery. Interment will be made at the convenience of the family in Ephratah cemetery.

She leaves, also father, two brothers and four sisters. She was a good wife and a kind, indulgent mother. She was loved by all who knew her. Interment In the Ephratah cemetery.

Thomas Peterson

  Thomas Peterson, aged 70, resident of the Johnstown-Caroga Lake road, died yesterday morning, about 11:50 in the Nathan Littauer hospital where he had been a patient since Wednesday. Death was due to a complication of diseases.
  Mr. Peterson was born in the Town of Ephrath, April 6. 1873, son of Peter and Helen Peterson. He had spent his entire life in Fulton County.
  He was a blacksmith by trade and for a number of years was employed by the New York State Highway Department and more recently by the Town of Johnstown.
  The only survivor is his wife, Mrs. Nina (Crouse) Peterson.
  The funeral will be held at the Cole funeral home Sunday afternoon at 2 The Rev George Gillmore of the Rockwood church will officiate. Burial will be made in Fern Dale cemetery.

She leaves her husband; two sons, William and Adelbert; three daughters. Mrs. Otto Craft, Mrs. Byron Argersinger and Mrs. Milo Weller. Another daughter, Mrs. Wlllard L. 8nell died last week. The funeral will be held Sunday.

  CANASTOTA - The sudden death of Adam DeLos Loucks occurred at the Canastota hospital Saturday evening after an illness of six days. Mr. Loucks was well known in this village having been proprietor of the Twogood House for several years. He also operated several other hotels in central New York during his life. He was 53 years of age. He was the son of Elias and Christina Loucks and was born at Manheim. Funeral services will be held at the Dolgevllle Universalist church Wednesday afternoon. Burial will be made in the Dolgeville cemetery. Surviving are his widow and six daughters, Mrs. DeVerne Lewis of Canastota, the Misses Dora, May, Anna, Helen and Mrs. Raymond Barcalow of Jordanville and one son George Loucks of Dolgevllle and mother, Mrs. William D. Snyder also of Dolgevllle; by three sisters, Mrs, Chas. Henning of Fort Plain, Mrs. Thomas Ryan of Dolgevllle and Mrs. Frank Gifford of Jordanville, and two brothers, Fred Loucks of Emmonsburg and Daniel Loucks of Henderson.

  CANASTOTA. Oct. 25. - The death of Adam Delos Loucks, 53, for a quarter of a century a well known hotel proprietor of Central New York, occurred at the Canastota Hospital, following: a six days' illness with typhoid pneumonia.
  The body will be taken by Preston & Hough, undertakers, to Dolgevllle, where the funeral will be held in the Unlversalist Church Wednesday afternoon with interment in the cemetery in that village.
  Mr. Loucks was for three years proprietor of the Twogood House. With his family he but a few days ago removed back to Canastota from South Columbia, where he had conducted the Cross House for eighteen months.
  Mr. Loucks was born at Manheim, a son of Elias and Christiana Smith Loucks. His first experience as a hotel proprietor was at Manheim Center, where about twenty-five years ago he conducted the Timmerman House. He was later for nine years a hotel proprietor at Vanhornesville and also conducted hotels at Mohawk and Dolgevllle. He was a member of Dolgevllle lodge of Odd Fellows.
  Surviving besides his widow is his aged mother, Mrs. William D. Snyder of Dolgevllle; six daughters, Mrs. Deverne Lewis, Miss Dora Loucks, Miss May Loucks, Miss Anna Loucks and Miss Helen Loucks of this village, and Mrs. Raymond Barcalow of Jordanville; a son, George Loucks of Dolgevllle; two brothers, Fred Loucks of Emmondsburg and Daniel Loucks of Henderson, and three sisters. Mrs. Charles Herning of Fort Plain. Mrs. Frank Gifford of Jordanville and Mrs. Thomas Ryan of Dolgeville.

Marriage Notes for Flossie Loucks and DeVerne A Lewis

 - Wedding Announcement (Madison County Times, Chittenango, NY, Dec 15 (?))
  The marriage of Miss Flossie I.oucks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delos Loucks to DeVerne Lewis of this Village took place at the Methodist parsonage Thursday evening at 10 o'clock The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. E. Jewell. Mrs. Jewell and Mrs. W J Smith were the witnesses. Mr Lewis is a popular young business man of this village and has a host of friends who wish him good luck and happiness. The bride is one of Canastota's fairest young ladies. Mr and Mrs. Lewis will not take a wedding trip at present owing to the fact that Mr. Lewis is the newly elected tax collector for the town of Lennox and is now collecting taxes.
  As soon as the news of the Lewis Loucks wedding leaked out some of Mr Lewis' friends procured a touring car and proceeded to the Lewis home in New Boston street and took the new married couple a short ride through the business section. They had plenty of horns with which they stirred the town as the joy-riding party went through Peterboro street.

  Mr. and Mrs. More are spending two weeks In New York City and on their return will make their home in Buffalo.

  He married Anna Luks in Sherrill in 1939.
  Besides his wife he is survived by a brother, Francis, Oneida.
  The funeral will be at 11 Thursday from the Craig W. Crowell Funeral Home with burial in Valley View Cemetery.

  She had been in failing health about six years, and was an invalid for a year and a half.
  Mrs. Strobeck was born at Scotch Bush, March 4, 1873, daughter of Christman Cromer and Catherine (Phillips) Cromer.
  She resided in that section until six and a half years ago when she went to Johnstown to make her home with her daughter. Mr. Strobeck died in 1922.
  She was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Scotch Bush.
  The survivors, besides the daughter mentioned above, are another daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Cretser, Lassellsville; one sister, Mrs. Ida Miles, Scotch Bush; two brothers, Eli Cromer and Eugene Cromer, Scotch Bush; also several nieces and nephews.
  The funeral will be held at the home of her daughter in Johnstown, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Arnold E. Dykhuizen of the Johnstown Reformed Church will officiate. Interment will be made in the Fical Cemetery at Scotch Bush.

  Mr. Roy Miles, 86, of Heagle Road, Johnstown, died Friday, June 8, at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville after being stricken at home.
  He was born March 5, 1915, in Scotch Bush, the son of Stephen and Ida Cromer Miles.
  Mr. Miles was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, where he served as usher, First Call committee person and member of the men's coffee club. He was also a member of the Johnstown Loyal Order of Moose and a former member of the Adirondack CB club.
  He was employed for 33 years as a machinist with the General Electric Co.
  Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Helen Murphy Miles, whom he married Nov. 30, 1935; one son, David Miles of Ballston Spa; one daughter, Sylvia Paraschos of Longmont, Colo.; one sister, Stella Taylor of Glovesville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
  Mr. Miles was predeceased by four brothers, Emory, Clarence, Clayton and Stephen Miles; three sisters, Harriet Looman, Amanda Weaver and Grace Terranova.
  Friends and family are invited to attend funeral services on Monday at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 1 W. Montgomery St., Johnstown, with the Rev. David Almleaf officiating.

  Helen Murphy Miles, age 94, of Johnstown, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. She was born on June 14, 1915, in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Lester Murphy and Henrietta Bordis Murphy. She graduated from Johnstown High School in 1934. She was employed at the former Scotsmoor Glove Co. and Knox Gelatin until her retirement. Helen was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where she was on the building commission and building committee, and also co-chair of the Craft Circle. She was president of Fellowship Guild at the former St. Paul's Lutheran Church, life member of Parent Teacher Association, President of East State Street School PTA, Board of Managers of Willing Helpers Home, Ida McGinnis Senior Center. Helen loved her Lord and is now in his peaceful arms. She was one to keep her hands busy with knitting and crocheting, she did beautiful embroidery. And mostly, she was an avid reader. Always a book in progress until she could no longer see to read. On November 30, 1935, she was united in marriage to Roy Miles and he passed away on June 8, 2001. Survivors include one son, David W. Miles (Pat) of Ballston Spa; one daughter, Sylvia Miles Paraschos of Longmont, Colo.; five grandchildren, Peter Paraschos of Washington, D.C., Stephanie Paraschos Schneider (Jim) of Longmont, Colo., Deborah Jean Gelbman (Andrew) of Albany, David W. Miles Jr. of Marion, Iowa, Michael G. Miles (Beth) of Trumansburg, N.Y.; six great-grandchildren, Nicole, Kelly, Stephanie, Sarah, Rebecca, and Benjamin; Sue Melita, Helen's caregiver and friend; nieces, nephews.
  In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Elias Paraschos.
  Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 10 a.m. from the Christ Lutheran Church, Montgomery Street, Johnstown. The Rev. David Almleaf will preside. Friends and family may call on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.   Evelyn Ann Miles, age 89, of Gloversville, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, after a brief illness.
   She was born in Greenwich on November 2, 1917, a daughter of the late Ralph E. Howland and Nettie Gifford Howland.
   Evelyn was a graduate of Greenwich High School, and also the former Brady Maternity Hospital & Infant Home in Albany.
   She was of the Baptist Faith.
   Mrs. Miles was last employed at St. Thomas of Gloversville.
   She was united in marriage to Stephen Miles April 24, 1941 and he passed away on July 29, 1993.
   Survivors include two sons Paul Miles of Gloversville and Brian Miles of Gloversville; two daughters Pamela Bordak of Hagaman, and Patricia Nicoletta of Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
   In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a son Bruce S. Miles and a brother Raymond Howland.
   Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 2:30 p.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. The Rev. Bonnie Orth will officiate.
   Friends and family may call on Friday prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
   Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
   Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer.

  The attendants were Miss Elizabeth Batcase and Raymond Howland, brother of the bride, and both of Granville.
  The bride wore a dress of blue silk crepe with matching accessories and wore a corsage of rosebuds and sweet peas. The maid of honor wore brown silk crepe and matching accessories and a corsage of sweet peas.
  Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Miles left on a wedding trip.

  Mr Cromer was born in Stockbush, March 27, 1868, and has been a resident of Ilion since 1916. He had been employed at the American Hard Wall Plaster Company, Mohawk for the past 12 years. He attended the Methodist Church.
  He leaves besides his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Niles, with whom he made his home, and Mrs Carrie Kuster, St. Johnsville; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Shunk, New York City and Mrs. Fay Tumbell, Johnstown, and four grandchildren.

  She was born in the Town of Ephratah, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Cromer.

  She was the widow of the late Walter Shunk, who died about 15 years age.

 Fay Trumbull, 75, Taken By Death
  The death of Fay Trumbull, 75, of 326 West Main Street, occurec last night at 9:15 after an illness of oly three days.
  He was born March 12, 1878 in the Town of Ephratah, son of Augustus and Mary Christman Trumbull. He was engaged in fatming in that town until he came to Johnstown 26 years ago.
  Mr. Trumbull had worked as a house painter and also as a real estate salesman while residing here.
  He was united in marriage to Emma Cromer, Sept. 17, 1917, in Little Falls.
  He attended the Methodist Church.
  The survivors, besides his wife, are two daughters, Miss Enise Trumbull of Forest Hills, L. I. and Mry Edward Reynolds of Johnstown; one brother, Sidney of Lassellsville, also a grandchild and several neices and nephews.
  The body was removed to the Brown & Ehle Funeral Home to be prepared for interment, and will be returned to the family home this evening. It will be brought back to the funeral home Saturday morning, where the funeral will be held in the afternoon at 2:30. Burial will be in Fern Dale Cemetery.
