---
- Aaron was listed in the 1975 Getman Family Genealogy as Arendt, son of Peter Getman and Elizabeth Richter, with a note "died young." The discovery of the minister's record of Aaron's 1856 marriage to Wilhelmine combined with the naming of Peter and Elizabeth Getman identifies his parents. The naming of his first son Nicholas for his maternal grandfather Nicholas Richter is further supporting evidence, since Nicholas was not a name used in the Getman family. A 23 Jul 1819 Indenture for 40 acres from his maternal grandparents Nicholas and Maria Richter to Aaron further indicates some level of relationship. The GFG note "died young" was presumed to have been based on the lack of further data on Arendt.
Arendt Brower, 1794 baptismal sponsor and namesake for Aaron, was descended from the Dutch family Brower, in the areas around Albany before 1760. Arendt was common in the Brower family, and later became Aaron. This is the first appearance of Aaron in the Getman family.

Currently known data has been used to develop the line presented here. -- Jacob # D1 appears to be the son of Johan Petrus Getman and Elisabeth Richter. Jacob # D2 b. 1844 - siblings if any are not known. A possibility exists that he was the son of an otherwise unidentified Elisabeth Smith and Jacob Getman # D1. -- Jacob (Wells) Getman b. 1869 - may have been adopted by Jacob D1 when he married Elizabeth Wells, who had been employed as his housekeeper. Jacob (Wells) Getman seems to have been incarcerated at Auburn prison in 1910. Information concerning this group is of particular interest to Getman genealogists.

- A convinicing arguement has been presented indicatiing that Jacob Getman B-35 and Jacob Getman D-1 are the same person. The information was researched by Clyde J Getman. The data as presented, although not specifically verifiable, represents Clydes research.

- Marriage based on cemetery listing.
- GFG - B / D 2
- The 1870 census has Elizabeth Wells as "housekeeper" with three (Wells?) children in home of Jacob Getman. In 1880 she is listed as wife of Jacob and the same three children are listed as Getman.
- Abram's obituary lists his mother as Elizabeth Wells, Louise's obituary (c 1955 per GFG p 419) lists her mother as Libbie Smith. No further support has been found for marriages to Smith or Wells.
- It is presumed here the eight [1-8] children as listed in 1880 were children of Jacob and Elizabeth. The 1865 census has Jacob married a second time, but living alone at time of census.
