CANAJOHARIE—The death of Mrs. Alfred Allen, well known and highly regarded resident of Ephratah occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Claude P. Wohlgemuth in the McKinley section of the Town of Palatine on Thursday after an illness of some length. The deceased was born January 15, 1851 and had spent practically her entire life in Ephratah with the exception of the past few years. She was a member of the Ephratah Reformed church and an attendant for many years.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Claude P. Wohlgemuth of Palatine; one sister, Mrs. Ladd Lewis of Michigan, and two granddaughters, Miss Ruth Wohlgemuth of Gloversville, and Miss Alice C. Van Evera of Canajoharie, and three grandsons, Donald Wohlgemuth of Palatine; Allen O. Van Evera of Canajoharie, and Karl Wohlgemuth, student at St Lawrence University; also nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 at the Methodist Episcopal church at Ephratah and the Rev. Redfern, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church will officiate. Interment will be in the Ephratah cemetery.

Mrs. Maud Scrafford, aged 31 years died Wednesday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Allen, in Ephratah, followng an illness form a complication of diseases. She was born in Ephratah but following her marriage several years ago she went to Utica, where she resided until about three weeks ago, when she was taken to the home of her parents in hopes that her failing health might improve.
Mrs. Scrafford had many friends who will sincerely regret her death. Besides her husband she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Allen, and two sisters, Mrs. Howard Van Evera of Canajoharie, and Mrs. Claude Wohlgemuth of McKinley.
The funeral will be held from the home of deceaeed parents on Saturday afternoon at l o'clock, the Rev. Royal A. Stanton, pastor of the Ephratah. Reformed Church, officiating. Many friends in this chity will be sad at the death of Maud Allen, wife of Gilbert R. Scrafford, which occured yesterday morning at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Allen of Ephratah. Mrs. Scraffoed had benn ill for the last four months and since election day she had been at her parents home. She was born in Ephratah 31 years ago, and had resided in Utica for the last eight years, he husband being employed as an engineer by teh New York Central Railroad. Her marriage to Mr. Scrafford took place June 19, 1914. She had attended the First Presbyterian Church of this city and was a member of teh Reformed Church of Ephratah and the Ladies' Aid Society of that church. Besides her husband who is an engineer on the New York Central and parents she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. William Welschmnidt of Palatine Bridge, and Mrs. Van Nerery of Canajoharie.

Isaac P. Spencer, 85, died last night at 8:30 at his home in Rockwood, where he had resided for two years.
Mr. Spencer was born in Garoga, October 5, 1853, and was a machinist by trade, retiring several years ago. For many years he resided in Gloversville, where he was a member of Fremont Street M. E. church and the United Order of the Golden Crown of New York.
The survivors are two sons, William H. of New York and Edgar of Gloversville; one daughter, Mrs. Albert Davis of Gloversville; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

NEW YORK-Two Glovsrsville residents are named principal beneficiaries under the will of their father, the late Isaac Pendleton Spencer, which was filed for probate here Tuesday in the Bronx County Surrogate's Court. Mr. Spencer died October 17 last, leaving an estate valued at $16,000 in personal property.
Edgar Allen Spencer, of 32 Bleecker street, Gloversville, and Anna Elizabeth S. Davis, of 10 Mill street, Gloversville, are each left one-third of the estate.
The remaining third is bequeathed to another son, William Hiram Spencer, of 1180 Cromwell avenue, this city, who is also named executor of the estate.

Edgar Spencer, 67, of 54 North Main Street, was found hanging from a steam pipe in his room at 1:20 yesterday afternoon by Mrs. Frances Kolacz, proprietor of the Hotel Gloversville.
Police were notified and Lt. Det. Willard C. Bergman conducted the investigation. Dr. Homer Oaksford, coroner, estimated Spencer took his life sometime between midnight and 2 yesterday morning.
Ho notes were found in the room and police were unable to learn the reason for his act.
Mr. Spencer was born in Garoga, but had resided in this city about 67 years. He was employed by the Gloversville Board of Education for 28 years, retiring three years ago. Upon retiring he moved to Miami, Fla., where he resided until two weeks ago when he returned to this city. He was a member of the Fremont Street Methodist Church.
The survivors are one sister, Mrs. Anna Davis, Gloversville: two nieces, aunt, and several cousins.

Mrs. Martha L. Allan, sixty-one years old, wife of the late Elijah V. Allen, died suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence E. Stewart, 78 Vast Fulton street. Saturday
evening about 7 o'clock. She had been in poor health for several years but had not been confined to her bed until the day of her death which came as a shock to her family and friends.
Mrs. Allen was a member of the Fremont Street M. E. church and the Home Missionary society.
The surviving relatives are three daughters, Mrs. George Hunt and Mrs. Clarence E. Stewart of Gloversvllle, and Mrs. William S. Edwards of Johnstown; three grandchildren, Mrs. Milton Miller and Allen and Ruth Stewart of Gloversvllle.
The funeral will be held at the home, 78 East Fulton street, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev, A. D. Parker, pastor of the Fremont Street M. E. church, officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Edith A. Edwards, wife of William S. Edwards, resident of this city for 34 years, died yesterday afternoon ahout 5 at the family home, 19 North William street. She had been in Ill health for some time. Mrs. Edwards' 58th birthday was today.
Mrs. Edwards was born April 29, 1883 in Ephratah, the daughter of Elijah V. and Martha Miller Allen. She was united in marriuge in Gloversville in 1903 to Mr. Edwards and had resided in this city since that time.
She was a member of the First Methodist church, Class Amity and Mrs. Groff's Sunday school class club and St. Monica Chapter, 486, of that church, the Chronos Study O.E.S.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Clarence D. Stewart of Johnstown, one niece and one nephew. Another sister, Mrs. George H. Hunt of Gloversville, passed away Sunday.
The bodv was removed to the Wassung & Brown funeral home, 15 North William street, where friends may call until tomorrow morning when the body will be taken to the family home, where the funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2.
The Rev. David Paton of the Methodist church will officiate and interment will be made in the Johnstown cemetery. The ritual of the Order of Eastern Star will be carried out during the service.

William S. Edwards, aged 68, former well known business man who retired about nine years ago, passed away yesterday morning at 1:45, in the Littauer hospital, Gloversville. He had been in failing health for sometime past and was taken to the hospital one week ago.
Mr. Edwards was born in this city on April 17, 1877, the son of Daniel and Augusta VanDeusen Edwards. He graduated from the Fort Plain Academy and the Eastman School of Business, then went to New York City and entered the wholesale grocery business.
In 1910 he became associated with his father in Edwards & Co., wholesale grocers, in the north end of the city. The elder Edwards died in 1934 and the son carried on the business for two years, after which he sold out. In 1936 he disposed of the large warehouse on North Perry street, near the old Fairgrounds, to the Milligan & Higgins Corp., and retired. He made his home at 23 North Melcher street.
In 1903 Mr. Edwards was married to Edith Alice Allen; she died in 1941.
He was a member of various Masonic organizations, including St. Patrick's lodge. No. 4, F. & A. M., and Cyprus Temple, Ancient and Arabic Order of the Mystic Shrine, Arabic Order of the Mystic Shrine, Johnstown Chapter 79, R.A.M, Johnstown Council 72, R. & S. M., and Holy Cross Commandery, 51, Knights Templar. For a number of years hs was active in the affairs of the Johnstown Rotary club. He was also a member of the old Keck Zouaves.
The survivors include one niece, Mrs. Ruth Myers of this city; two cousins, William Kennedy Sr., of this city and John Edwards of Syracuse; one nephew, Allen G. Stewart, seaman 1/c, U. S. Navy, now in the Pacific and a brother-in-law, Allen Greenwald of this
city.
The body was moved to the Wassung A Brown funeral home, where the funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. The Rev, Raymond A. Ketchledge of the First Presbyterian church will officiate.
Burial will be tn the Johnstown cemetery.
