CANAJOHAR1E, May 16. — James Winne Shults, 70, lifelong resident of this vicinity and coal dealer in Canajoharle for 25 years, died suddenly Friday morning at his home on Front street. He was born in Mapletown, November 14, 1866, son of Hiram and Mary Anne Winne Shults. He was a member of the Canajoharie Methodist Church, Kiwanis Club, Odd Fellows, Reformed Church Men's Club and the Men's Club of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Merselis Shults; one daughter, Blanche; three sons, Raymond J. and Jay W. of Canajoharle, and Arthur of Utica, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at the home Sunday at 2:30 p. m. Rev. Samuel N. Spear of the Methodist Church officiated. Burial was made in the Fort Plain cemetery.

Mrs. Catherine Saltsman Shults, 82, widow of Jeremiah Saltsman , died Saturday at her home in St. Johnsville, after a short illness. Mrs. Saltsman was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church and its auxiliaries. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. L. Kenneth Wock; two sons, Clarence Saltsman of St. Johnsville and Myron Saltsman of Stone Arabia.
The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at th ehom eiowth Rev. H. Curtis Pickins of St. John's Reformed church of St. Johnsville, officiating, Interment was amde in Prospect View cemetery.

St. Johnsville, Dec. 30.—After an illness of several weeks, Jeremiah Saltsman, a well known and esteemed resident, died Sunday morning at his home on West Main street. He was 83 years of age and was born in the town of Palatine, being the last to survive of the family of fifteen children of Peter I. and Katherine Saltsman — namely, Josiah, Jonathan, William H., Nathan, Urias, Levi and Alvin Saltsman. Mrs. Augustus Humph, Mrs. Julia Dillenbeck, Mrs. Alonzo Kilts, Nancy and Levina Saltsman and a child that died in infancy. Mr. Saltsman had been a resident of St. Johnsville for about fifteen, years, coming here when he retired from his large farm interests at Stone Arabia. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church and of the St. Johnsville lodge. No. 611. F. and A. M. The surviving relatives are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. L. Kenneth Wock; two sons, Myron Saltsman of Stone Arabia and Clarence Saltsman of this village; thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home.
