 - Obituary (Richfield Springs Mercury, NY, January 31, 1901)
  The funeral of Miss Elizabeth Getman was held at the church Tuesday at 11 a. m. Her ancestors were among the pioneers of this town, and here her parents reared their family of twelve children, of whom our townsman, David Getman, and Dr.Getman, of Richfield Springs, are the only survivors. For the past few years she has resided with her niece, Mrs. Nelson Stevens, of Palmyra,but was brought back to the church of which in life she was a member and staunch supporter. Her words of interest and. encouragement will be missed by many of the church people.

 - Obituary (Find A Grave)
  Nicholas Veeder, an old and well known citizen of this village, died at his home on Smith avenue, early Friday morning at the sge of 72 years, 11 months, 2 days. Mr. Veeder was born in Schenectady and became a resident of Herkimer in 1854, in the year following be was married to Miss Clarissa Foils, who survives him. For twenty years or more Mr. Vueder had been a great sufferer from inflammatory rheumatism, aud for the last ten years was unable to leave his nome. He was a good citizen and had many friends. Besides his wife he is survived by two brothers and two sisters. They are John C. Vceder, the well known Central Hudson engineer, Alijah C. Veeder of Syracuse, formerly an engineer on the Herkimer and Poland narrow gauge railroad, Mrs. Cornelius Van Vransen or Arameda, Cal, and Mrs. Alvin Coy of Albany. The funeral was attended from the home Sunday at 2 p. m , Rev. Eugene Jencks or the Free Methodist church offlciated. Interment at Oak Hill cemetery.

  Herkimer County ... Miss Katherine Folts died at the home of her nieces, Misses Hattie and Jennie Lyons, after a short illness, aged 86 years. Miss Folts was a lifelong resident of Herkimer and is survived by one brother, Judson Folts, and several nephews and nieces.

She was born in this town and has always resided here. She was married about 40 years ago to Mr Palmer, who survives her. She is also survived by two brothers, William Folts and L. J. Folts, and two sisters, Miss Katharine Folts and Mrs. B. D. Lyon, all of this village. The funeral will be held from her late residece at 2 o'clock Monday and Rev. C. W. Davidson wil conduct the services.

 - Obituary (Ilion Citizen, NY, Thursday, March 7 1907)
  In the death of Joseph Palmer which occurred at bis home on North Main street. Herkimer, this village loses one of her very best citizens, He was an ideal man in every respect and a true Christian gentleman. Mr. Palmer had been ailing for several weeks and for the past ten days had been confined to the bed. The end came at two o'clock Sunday afternoon. Mr. Palmer's entire life had been spent in Herkimer, he having been born in this village June 15, 1830, the son of Chester W. and Zilpha Palmer. Up to 1876 he conducted a carriage and wagon factory on Washington street and manufactured a superior line of wagons. He was married in 1855 to Adelaide Folts who died about ten years asgo. In November, 1904, he married Miss Jessie Braley of Utica who survives. Mr. Palmer erected the very handsome brick house on Washington street, now owned by A. W. Haselhurst. where he lived for a number of years. Two years ago he purchased one of the Patrick houses on North Main street where he lived at the time of his death. After retiring from business in 1876 he used to spend the summers at Thousand Island Park where he had a cottage and where he spent many happy days on the river with his friend, the late Warren Caswell, both gentlemen being ardent fishermen. For a long term of years he was one of the most active members of the Methodist chrtrch and held the office of steward and financial secretary at the time of his death. Every good canse had a friend and ally in Joseph Palmer.
  Besides his wife he is survived by one brother, Chester W. Palmer, and two sisters. Mrs, Cordelia Rasbach and Mrs. E. J. Myers. The funeral will be attended from the home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. S. D. Robinson officiating.
