  Herkimer ... - Ward E. Hiser, aged 16 years, died at the home of his brother, Arthur Hiser on Mill street in this village, shortly before noon Saturday 11th. He had been ill about a week suffering from rupture of the bowels. Besides his brother Arthur he is survived by three sisters, Mesars. Georgie and Carrie Heiser, and Mrs. Emma Brooks of Utica. The funeral will take place from the house today at 2 p.m., Rev. G. S. Beckwith of the Baptist church officiating.

  Moravia. May 21.- James Forbes, who took Paris green at his home on the Hollow road Tuesday morning, died Wednesday evening. He is survived by one son. Ray Forbes, and five daughters. Miss Jennie Forbes, Mrs. Frank Wilson. Mrs. Harlan Dewitt, Mrs. Ed Springer and Mrs. Smith Helmer. He was a member of the Masonic lodge of Moravia. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 2 p. m. Rev. J. A. Rodger of Skaneateles will officiate. Burial will be at Owasco.

James Forbes of Niles Left Cow to Each of Four Children
  The will of the late James Forbes of Niles was admitted to probate and letters testamentary were issued to Jennie Forbes. The estate consists of $250 personal property. By the terms of the will four children, Jennie Forbes, Emma Helmer, Mary Dern and Della Dewitt, are left one cow each, and if the deceased did not have four cows at the time of his death those who did not received a cow are left the sum of $20 each. To Jennie Forbes is left a black mare and wagon, and the residue is divided equally among seven children, Jennie Forbes, Emma Helmer, Mary Dern, Della Dewitt, Stella Springer, Ella Wilson and Ray Forbes. William Covert AND George Dewitt were appointed appraisers.

  Miss Jennie Forbes, 64, died early this morning at her home in the Town of Niles, following a long Illness.   Moravia - March 23, - Harlan G. DeWitt died at his home on Mount Pleasant wearly yesterday afternoon after an illness of only a few days. Death was due to appendicitus. He underwent an operation early wednesday morning.
  Mr. DeWitt was born in Niles, October 26, 1870, the son of Daniel DeWitt. His whole life had been spent in this vicinity. He is survived by his wife, who was formerly Miss Della Forbes of Niles.
  Funeral services will be held at the family home at 2 o'clock tomorrow, Rev. Walter B. Jorris, officiating. Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Rounds Funeral Home in New Hope. Rev. Ernest Colllngs, pastor of Kelloggsville Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Owasco Rural Cemetery. Friends have been invited to call at the funeral home.

  A pretty home wedding took place at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Covert, in Niles last Wednesday, at 12 o'clock, noon, when their daughter, Minnie, was united in marriage to Webb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mathew Helmer, also of Niles. At the hour designated the bridal party, preceded by the officiating clergyman, Rev. J. A. Rodgers, of Owasco, marched Into the parlor to the strains of The Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin. The ceremony which made them man and wife was performed in the presence of relatives and friends. The bride wore a becoming traveling suit. Congratulations followed the ceremony and then the bridal party and guests sat down to a sumptuous repast.
  Mr. and Mrs. Helmer received many beautiful and useful presents.
  The boneymoon will be spent with relatives in Wayne county.

  HERKIMER - Sep. 18 - Margaret S Helmer, widow of the late Charles M. Helmer, died at the home of her son J. H. Helmer, on the North Creek Road last evening at 8:15 o'clock, following an illness of eight months.
  She was born in the town of Herkimer, and her maiden names was Forbes. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
  She is survived by three sons and three daughters, Frank E., Charles J. and J. Henry Helmer, and Mrs. Eva Dennison, Mrs. John Fullmer and Mrs. Alvah Potter, all of this town; one brother, Claude Forbes, of Groton, N. Y., and a sister, Mrs. Matthew Helmer of Moravia, N. Y. The funeral arrangements will be announced later.

  Herkimer - Frank Helmer, 70, North Creek Road, died at his home yesterday following a long illness.
  Eh was born in the Town of Fairfield, son of Charles M. and Margaret Forbes Helmer and attended Fairfield Seminary.
  Mr. Helmer married Linda Cristman in 1888. He followed the occupation of farming for 27 years and also was an employee of the Standard Furniture Company.
  Besides his widow he leaves a brother, Charles H. Herkimer; three sisters, Mrs. John W. Fulmer, Mrs. Eva Benson and Mrs. Eivd Potter, all of Herkimer.
  He was a member of Herkimer Masonic Lodge, Fort Dayton and Pamona Grange.

  Herkimer - Earl E. stock, 18, arrested by state police following an Investigation of a fire which destroyed a large cow barn on Mrs. Frank Helmer's place near here. waived examination before Justice Clarence Van Horn, last evening. Stock is confined in Herkimer County jail on charges of arson, third degree, awaiting action of November grand Jury. Prior to being arraigned Stock was taken to Oneida Barracks by Corp. Raymond Fogarty and Trooper Scott, BCI. where he was fingerprinted and photographed. The fire for which Stock is being held, occurred Sept. 14. It was the second fire to occur on the Helmer farm since Aug. 3.

  ILION — In Just nine days, Mrs. Linda Helmer will be 100 years old and one of the oldest residents of Herkimer County.
  Mrs. Helmer, a native of the Kast Bridge area outside of Herkimer and in the Town of Fairfield, has lived at 129 E. North St. with the James P. Tubia family for three years.
  She was born Jan. 10, 1868, on a farm on North Creek Rd., daughter of Norton and Margaret Rasbach Cristman. She was married to Frank Helmer on March 21, 1888 (the year of the Great Blizzard), in her home. Helmer also lived on North Creek Rd.
  She remembers the minister, a Rev. Cox, pastor of the Herkimer Reformed Church, rode horseback to the farm. The newlyweds left by train for their honeymoon in Moravia and were surprised there was no snow there.
  The couple purchased a farm on North Creek Rd., near their parents. Mr. Helmer died in 1937 and Mrs Helmer kept the farm until 1947, when she sold it to her nephew, Vance Helmer.
  Mrs. Helmer’s health is good with the exception of arthritis which has curtailed her activity for a number of years. Her eyesight and hearing are both fair. She spends most of her time sitting in a chair and catnapping.”
  She is a member of the Herkimer Reformed Church, its Ladies Aid Society, Myrtle Chapter, OES and Fort Dayton Grange.
  Besides Vance Helmer, she has another nephew Norton Helmer of Herkimer RD 1 and numerous grand and ggreat grand nieces and nephews.

  Moravia, June 14. — John Forbes, aged 72 years, died at his home East of Sempronius Village yesterday afternoon.   Mr. Fulmer had owned and operated a dairy farm for 40 years, retiring in 1974. He also had served two terms as an assessor for the Town of Columbia.
  He is survived by his wife, the former Frances E. Knights; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Mary Lou) Thomas, Utica and Mrs. Thomas G. (Joann) Vierthaler, Rochester; one brother, Frank S. Fulmer, Rd 2 Little Falls; two grandsons, three nephews and several cousins.
  Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Monday in the Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., with burial in Oakdale Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2-4  and  7-9 Sunday. Memorial donations may be sent to the Cedarville Ambulance Fund or the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, Herkimer.
