A beautiful life was closed with the passing of Mrs. Flora Getman Snell at her home in Park Place, Herkimer, following an illness extending nearly a year past. Her death, while not unexpected, comes as a great shock and sense of deep loss to the many who had come to know and love her.
Mrs. Snell was in her sixty-third year, heaving been born November 21, 1860, in the town of Columbia, the daughter of Marhlon and Sarah Ann Getman. Her father was a prominent cheese buyer and land-owner in that section. She married Truman Snell of East Creek in 1880 and they moved to Mohawk. In 1901 they moved to Herkimer, where one son, Marhlon Getman, was born.
A few years later, September 19,1904, Mr. Snell was killed by a train near East Creek, while inspecting farm lands which he owned in that section. Then Mrs. Snell and the son moved to the present home in Park Place, where they have since resided. For many years her mother, Mrs. Getman, lived with them.
Mrs. Snell was prominent in the councils of the D. A. R. and for two years, in 1912 and 1913, was regent.

Jason Haskins died January 10, 1907 at Fox Hill [that would be Harrison Fox Hill], two miles from Harrison Valley. He was born in Highgates, Franklin Co., Vermont on March 17, 1823. In May 1878 he married Mary Ann Robinson. Survived by wife and two sons, Tom and Fred, and one sister Mrs. Leonard Fox. He served six months as a soldier in the British Army in Canada when he was a young man. In August 1862 he enlisted in the U. S. Army and served in the Civil War. unti lits close. He was a member of the 149th 2md Bucktails regiment, PA Volunteers. Buried in Mills, Pa cemetery.

ULYSSES, Pa., Feb 10. - Mrs. Margaret Kibbe, 91 years old, widow of James Kibbe, sied Saturday, February 4, at the farm home of her daughter, Mrs. George Bishop in Ulysses Township.
The funeral was held at the home Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. Kenneth Baker, pastor of the M. E. church officiating. Burial was made in the Ulysses Cemetery.
Mrs. Kibbe was born in Hector, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Persing and had lived most of her life in this vicinity.
