 - 81st Birthday (Amsterday Evening Recorder, New York, Saturday, March 6, 1915)
Mrs. Elizabeth Dockstader celebrated her 8lst birthday in a delightful manner at her home here Friday with her sister, children and grandchildren surrounding her and everything was done that was possible to make the day a pleasant one and one long to live in the memories of those present. After an afternoon of visiting and story telling, a sumptuous dinner was partaken of in the evening when the table was prettily laden with a large birthday cake, encircled by eighty red candles and one white one, adorning the center of the table. Mrs. Dockstader, though old in years, does not appear so, and she is as good company for the young as the old and often sits telling stories to younger people who are delighted and entertained. She received many gifts besides a shower of post cards. Her daughter, knowing her mother's love of plants and flowers, presented her with a beautiful cyclamen in full bloom, which was highly appreciated. Those present at the gathering were: Mrs. Elizabeth Dockstader, Howard Van Patten of Tribes Hill, Miss Anna Getman, Mr. and Mrs. George Mink, Wellington Dockstader, and the Misses Ethel, Laura and Juanita Dockstader of Amsterdam.
