  Ilion, March 12. - A telegram recieved today conveyed the sad news of the death of Mrs. Charles N. Cole, at Berkley, Cal. Mrs. Cole lived in Ilion most of her life, having residence on West Hill, and has hosts of friends who will hear the sad news with deep regret. she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Clinton Kingsbury, who was with her duinrg her last hours.

  Ho! All ye who suffer from bunions on the pedal extremities listen and take comfort from this invention by ar Ilion man. for which a patent has just been issued, on the application of Robinson. Martin K. Jones, patent attorneys of this city, on behalf of Charles N. Cole of the above village. The Invention is described as a "bunion protector for shoes." and is in the nature of a spring support secured between the inner and outer sole and projecting upwardly inside of the upper.
  An Interest in the Invention has been assigned to Frank R Rix. also of Ilion.

 - Obituary (Ilion Citizen, NY, Thursday, April 7, 1910)
  Ilion learns with regret of the death of Charles N. Cole at his home April 5 from pneumonia Mr. Cole was born in New York City, October 22. 1845, and at an earlv age moved to Cincinnati Later he lived in Providence Rl from which place he moved to Ilion in 1864. In May. 1868 he was married to Hattie Steele. Until the falure of the Remingtons he was employed in the Armory, and since that time in the Typewriter Works. He was affiliated with Ilion Lodge No. 591 F. & A. M., and attended St.591. F. & A. M.. and attended St. Augustine's church. He was a man of wide acquaintance and many friendships. most cordial and pleasant in his associations and one who will be much missed by his friends and neighbors. He is survived by his wife and one daughter Mrs. Clinton Kingsbury. The funeral was held privately at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, in charge of Ilion Lodge. No. 591 F. & A M. Rev. H. E. Pike officiated at the services at the house and the cemetery services were conducted by the lodge.

 - Obituary (The Utica Weekly Tribune, NY, November 29, 1914)
  Herkimer, Nov. 28. George Getman died at the home of his son, Olin Getman, in Columbi a Center to-day. He was born on November 30, 1829, and had always lived in th evicinity of this village, voting for 34 years in this place. He had served the village faithfully as assessor for nine years and had also fille the office of street commissioner for a number of years with credit to himself and the town. For some time he had also been truent officer, and in all his positions of trust he had made good. He leaves an aged widow and four sons, Augustus and Irving Getman of Herkimer, Olin of Columbia Center and Harvey Getman of Syracuse and one daughter Miss Jennie Getman of Columbia Center. Mr. Getman is also survived by one brother, Joseph of Sell's Bush and two sisters, Mrs. David Fuller of Stuben and Mrs. Amos Bellinger of Herkimer.
  The funeral will be held a 2 p. m. on Tuesday at the home of his son Augustus Getman, in Herkimer, with the Rev. Howard Brinckerhoff, officiating.

The deceased had served efficiently as assessor, street commissioners and truant officer. He is survived by his wife and four sons, Augustus and Irving Getman of Herkimer, Olin of Columbia Center and Harvey Getman of Syracuse, and one daughter, Miss Jennie Getman of Columbia Center. Mr Getman is also survived by one brother, Joseph of Sell's (sic) Bush and two sisters, Mrs. David Fuller of Steuben and Mrs. Amos Bellinger of Herkimer.

  Olin Getman, aged sixty, of East Herkimer, was instantly killed Thursday of last week when struck by an automobile as he was crossing a street in front of his home. Coroner James W. Graves said Donald W, Gordon, aged twenty-four, of Clark Mills, was the driver'of the machine. Gordon, was exonerated.

  Herkimer, Oct 20 - Funeral services for Joseph Getman 84, who died Monday at Shell's Bush, will be held on Thursday afternoon from his late home. Rev. F. P. Sherman (?) of Mohawk will officiate. Interment will be made in Oak Hill.
  Mr. Getman was of revolutionary stock. He was born at Frot Herkmer and had lived the majority of his life in this vicinity.

  Herkimer — Mrs. Ada Getman Harter, 87, of the Middleville Rd., died yesterday at her home after a short illness.
  She was born July 30, 1878, in the Town, of Herkimer, daughter of Joseph and Saloma Folts Getman. She was married to Richard Harter, Oct. 22, 1913, in Herkimer. He died Sept. 28, 1951. She was a member of the Shells Bush Grange and attended the Reformed Church.
  She leaves a sister, Mrs. Hattie Folts, Herkimer; several nieces and nephews.
  The funeral will be at 1:30 Friday from the Fenner Funeral Home, the Rev. Forest Decker, pastor of the Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

  ALDER CREEK - Funeral services for Murine D. Fulmer were held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the family home with the Rev. Richard Jenks, pastor of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Boonville, officiating.
   Bearers were Mark Hill, Delos Riggs, Everette Hughes, Leslie McGauley. Elliott Hughes, Charles Brown. Interment was in Lowell Cemetery, Lowell, where Rev. Janks conducted committal services.   ALDER CREEK -- Mrs. Ruth A. Fulmer, 91, of Alder Creek, died January 15, 1978 at Eden Park Nursing Home, She had been in poor health for several years.
  She was born in the town of Westmoreland on April 23, 1886 a daughter of Adam and Mary Bates Dorn. She spent her younger life in the Westmoreland area, later going to Boonville where she graduated from high school in 1905 and the Boonville Teachers Training Class in 1906. She taught school in the vicinity off North Steuben for about twenty years. During her late life, she lived in Alder Creek. When young she united with the Methodist Church in Lowell and continued her church membership in the Boonville area. She was always interested in the better things in life.
  On March 14, 1914, at the Dorn Homestead in Lowell, she was married to Murnie D. Fulmer of Utica. Mr. Fulmer died on April 25, 1961. Mrs. Fulmer leaves several cousins, nieces and nephews.
  The funeral will be at 1:30 Tuesday at the Trainor Funeral Home, Boonville. Burial will be in the Lowell Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Monday.

  Lowell, March 16.— One of the pleasantest social events of the season occurred here on Saturday when Miss Ruth Almira Dorn of Lowell became the wife of Murnie D, Fulmer of Utica. The rooms ware prettily trimmed with evergreens, and an especially pretty arch of smilaz (?) and pink carnations made a pleasing background for the scene of the marriage. During the ceremony Mrs. Judson Davis sweetly sang O Promise Me. To the strains of the wedding march from Lohengrin, played by Mrs. Charles Seybold, a cousin of the bride, the couple unattended, quietly entered the parlor where in the presence of their friends, the words were said which united them for life. The impressive ring ceremony was used. Rev. Judson Davis, pastor of the Lowell M. E. Church, officiating. The bride looked beautiful in a gown of embroidered marquisette, over white silk, with trimmings of lace and missaline. She carried a shower bouquet of white carnations. After congratulations a three course dinner was served to about 70 guests. The bride is the eldest daughter of Adam Dorn of this place. She is a graduate of the Boonville High School and the Boonville Teachers' Training Class. For several years she taught in the public schools of the county where she met with marked success. She is of charming personality and her winning ways have endeared her to a large circle of friends who join in congratulating Mr. Fulmer upon winning so lovely a wife.
  The groom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. David Fulmer of Steuben. For a few years he was engaged in farming, later accepting a position with the N. Y. Central R. R. Company, which place he at present holds. He is of excellent moral character and integrity and has a host of friends and well-wishers in his old home and Utica.
  There were many pretty and useful gifts including a check for $500 from the bride's father, $47 in bills, silverware, linen, hand painter china, cut glass, rugs, chairs, etc. Amid a shower of rice and confetti the happy couple left for Albany, New York and other eastern points.   Lloyd H. Getman, 90, of 79 S. Cayuga St., Union Springs, died Tuesday in Auburn Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
  Born in Grandville, Mich., Mr. Getman retired in 1952 as an auditor for the Traveler's Insurance Co. He previously was a auditor for the U.S, Gypsum Co. Mr. Getman was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, and was a 63-year member of Warren Lodge 147 F&AM. He was a past high priest of Union Springs Chapter 179, Royal Arch Masons. He was a member of King Hiram Council 18, Royal and Select Masters; Salem Town Commandery 16, Knights Templar, and Damascus Temple, Ancient Arabic Order, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. He also was a member of the Geneva Shrine Club.
  There are no known survivors. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Chestnut Hill Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. The Brew Funeral Home, Auburn, is in charge of arrangements. Friends wishing to do so may contribute to the Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children, Springfield, Mass., in memory of Mr. Getman. Bearers will be Oscar Schlappi, Donovan Webb, Dr. N. L. Woodford, Clayton Smith, Marion Davis and Robert Dorenus. The Rev. Charles Hess, rector of Grace Episcopal Church, will officiate

  UNION SPRINGS - Mrs. Margaret Pimm Getman, wife of Lloyd Getman of 79 S. Cayuga St, Union Springs, died early this morning at her home following several weeks illness.
  Born in Wolcott, Mrs. Getman had resided in Union Springs for 65 years. She was a graduate of Syracuse University, class of 1907, and a member ot Delta Delta Delta sorority and Eta Beta Pi honorary sorority of the university.
  Mrs. Getman was a past president of the Leisure Hour Club of Union Springs; member of the Syracuse University Club of Auburn; treasurer of the Union Springs Red Cross for 40 years; secretary and treasurer of the Springport Free Library; active member of the Morning Musicals of Auburn; member of the Star of Cayuga Chapter 339, OES of Union Springs; and a member of Grace Episcopal Church for 65 years. April 29, 1961. would have been Married for 50 years.
  She is survived by her husband.
  Services will be held at 3:30 p. m. Friday at the Grace Episcopal Church of Union Springs. Rev. Edward R. McCracken, rector of the church, and Rev. George R. J. Combs of the Presbyterian Church of Attica will officiate. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Union Springs.
