 - Where was he during the 1910 census?

 - Obituary (Utica Herald-Dispatch, NY, Tuesday, November 5, 1912)
Frederick G Fincke, prominent lawyer and member of the firm of Miller & Fincke, died suddenly at his home in Oneida square at 11:46 last night as the result of a sudden attack or heart disease. For a year Mr. Fincke's health had been somewhat impaired, but it was not known that any serious disorder existed. Last evening he visited the Fort Schuyler Club and talked of the coming election and appeared to be as well as usual.
Mr. Fincke left the club about 10:30 and reached his home 16 minutes later. He went to his room and sat down and was overcome with Illness. He summoned his servants, who telephoned to Dr. William M. Gibson. Dr. Gibson reached the house at 11:16 and found Mr. Fincke in a chair unconscious. He had not even begun to undress. Dr. Gibson saw at once that he was suffering from embolism of the lung, brought on by heart disease, and that Mr. Fincke was fast drfting away. At 11:45 he breathed his last, very quietly. He was 62 years old.
The news of Mr. Fincke's death shocked his friends and associates. Only last Saturday he presided over the meeting of the Oneida County Bar Association, which took action on the death of Vice President Sherman. Mr. Fincke possessed a strong personality which will be missed from the circle in which he moved. He had attained a high position among the lawyers of Utica and as a speaker both within and without his profession he was much admired. His reputation in this respect was due to his wit and mastery of satire and sarcasm rather than to more serious forms of eloquence.
Frederick G. Fincke was born in Jersey City, N. J., January 28, 1850. He was a son of Charles Fincke and Anna M. Mann, daughter of Abijah Mann, jr., who represented Herkimer County in Congress and who was a relative of Charles A. Mann of Utica. Mr. Fincke was educated in private schools in Jersey City and in Buffalo, to which place his family moved in 1884. After the death of his father he removed to Brooklyn, where he lived with his Grandfather Mann, who died in 1898. He entered Harvard College, from which he was graduated in 1873. He studied law in the office of  Judge Abram S. Lawrence of New York City and graduated brom Columbus College Law School in 1875. He was admitted to practice in 1875. and the following month came to Utica, where he had since resided.
  ...
June 25, 1875. Mr. Fincke married Mary DeShon Wood of Morrlstown, N. J., a niece of the Rev. Dr. John Brandeges [?] of Utica. She died in November, 1901. He leaves two children, Frances A., wife of the Hon. Learned Hand, United States judge for the southern district of New York, and Reginald, who is a member of the New York Stock Exchange and of the firm of Clark, Dodge & Co., bankers. Both live in New York City. He leaves also one sister, Frances, wife of Col. James Morgan of Washington.
