  Fort Plain, Jan. 13, — The body of Sylvester Sitterly, a resident of Stone Arabia, aged 86 years, who died on January 9, was brought to this village yesterday and the funeral was held at 2 o'clock at the Catharine Nellis Memorial chapel, the Rev Royal H. Stanton, of Ephratah, officiating. The deceased is survived bv three sons, Daniel Sitterly, of St. Johnsvllle, Charles Sitterly, of Ephratah, and William Sitterly, of Herkimer: also one daughter. Mrs. Joseph Pross, of Syracuse. The burial will later be made in the Fort Plain cemetery.

 - Obituary (Fulton County Republican, Johnstown, NY, Thursday, December 30, 1909)
  Mrs. Arthur Rickard, aged 67 years, died at her, home in Stone Arabia Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Rickard was suddenly attacked with heart trouble and succumbed in a short time. The deceased had been a resident of the vicinity of Ephratah and Stone Arabia all her life and was an ardent member of the Reformed church at the former place.
  She is survived by her husband, Arthur Rickard; two daughters, Miss Estella Rickard of Stone Arabia and Mrs. Benjamin Spoar of Johnstown, one son, John F. Rickard, who resides at home. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the late home and burial took place in Fort Plain.

  Fort Plain - The wedding of Miss Elsie C. Rickard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Rickard. to Mr. Benjamin W. 8poar of this city took place at the home of the bride's parents who reside near Fort Plain at noon Tuesday.
  The house was handsomely trimmed with floral effects and the ceremony was performed by Rev. George Meyer of Utiea in the presence of the immediate friends and relatives of the contracting parties. The wedding march was played by Miss Elizabeth Grebe of Gloversville. The maid of honor was Miss Grace Wood of Ephratah and the best man was John Rickard of Fort Plain, a brother of the bride. The bride was handsomely attired in a gown of pearl gray silk trimmed with applique and chiffon. Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served. The bride was the recipient of many beautiful gifts including cut glass and silverware.
  Mr. and Mrs. Spoar left on a several days' wedding trip to Buffalo and Niagara Falls. Upon their return they will reside at No. 111 Washington avenue in this city. The groom is an efficient salesman at Sponnoble's market and both bride and groom have many friends who extend best wishes and congratulations.

 - Obituary (The Journal and Courier, Little Falls, NY, Tuesday, March, 1924)
  MRS. ELIAS VAN VALKENBURG passed away last week tuesday morning at the advanced age of 95 years, at her home on the river road east of this city. She had been in quite good health, but early Tuesday morning she sustained a stroke of paralysis. Dr. Vickers was called, but could do little to prolong her life. The deceased was born in Herkimer May 11, 1829, and was a daughter of James Getman and. Nancy Campbell, the familv being prominent early settiers of that section. On October 5, 1852, deceased became the wife of Elias Van Valkenburg, who death occurred in 1916. She had long been a member of the Presbyterian church in this city. She posessed a charachter and disposition that endeared her to a wide circle of friends who will long revere her memory. She was most kind hearted and hospitable and ever ready to be of assistance to others and her many kind deeds will lonb be held in memory. Mrs. Van Valkenburg is survived by three sons, Eugene G, of this city, Frederick of Fly Creek, and Frank, who lives at the home farm. The funeral was held from the home at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon, Rev. Paul F. Swarthout of the Baptist church of this city officiated. Interment was made in the Frank-Van Valkenburg cemetery in the turnpike section of the Town of Manheim.

 - Obituary (Richfield Springs Mercury, NY, Thursday, Mary 22, 1917)
  Warner Folts died Thursday evening at the Folts homestead. Ilion, at the age of 87, and he was born in the house where he died. He was a direct descendent of Melchert Folts, one of the patentees of the Burnettsfield Patent, the land having been granted, in 1723 and he was of the sixth generation to occupy the estate.

 - Obituary (Utica Herald - Dispatch, NY, Monday, October 4, 1909)
  Ilion, Oct. 4, - At the home of her daughter at East Frankfort at 7:30 o'cock in this morning occured the death of Mrs. Warner Folts, a life-long resident of that vicinity. She had been an invalid for the past 10 years. Death was caused by heart trouble. The deceased was born in Schuyler, February 7, 1832 and resided there until she was seven years of age. She afterwoard moved to Frankfort and had resided there since then. She was the daughter of the lats Ichabod Tanner and Nancy Clapsaddle, who were descendants of Francis Cook and Richard Warren, who were signers of the Mayflower compact. She is survived by her husband and three daughters, Mrs. F. D. Callen, Mrs. Henry Whitney and Mrs. William Reed of Camden, and also two sons, Frank Folts and Delevan Folts of this village.   Frankfort, Aug. 6, — The death of Mrs Rhoda Folts occurred Saturday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Mary Goodier. where she had been cared for during the past few months, having for some time been boarding. Her husband died 26 years ago and an only son lives in Syracuse, but she did not wish to leave her native town, where she had lived 14 years. Her maiden name was Dodge. She was twice married and leaves a son by the first husband. Sanders Dodge of East Syracuse. Her second husband. Hannibal D. Folts, was also a native of this town. Mrs. Folts was a woman of bright intellect and retained her faculties to a marked degree. She was a favorite among the people because of her cheerful disposition.
  Some years ago she wrote and sealed a letter in which she stated her wishes in regard to her funeral, selecting the text and naming the bearers and naming five ladies for whom she desired a carriage furnished. The five ladles have all preceded her to their heavenly home. They were Mrs. A. V. Joslln, Mrs Alice Kenyon, Mrs. Helen Cleland, Mrs Abigail Waterbury, and Mrs. Louise Reese. Mrs. Folts was a devout Universalist. She was a great reader and had kept well informed on the current events of the day, until a few months ago. The funeral will he held this afternoon at 4, o'clock from the home of Mrs. Goodier on First avenue,

 - Obituary (Pen Yan Democrat, NY, December 9, 1910)
  Died, in Himrod, December 3, 1910, of valvular heart trouble, Hiram T.  Henderson, aged 66 years. Deceased was a son of Nathaniel S. and Angeline Henderson, and was born in Norway; Herkimer County, May 6, 1854. He was married to Mary I. Smith, of the same place, who died in Penn Yan, May 21, 1892. Two children, Mrs. C. M. VanDyke, of Himrod, and Harvey Henderson, of Syracuse, were the issue of this marriage.
Mr. Henderson's death came so suddenly that his son was unable to reach his home before the end came.
  In the early sixties Mr. Henderson came to Himrod to live, with his wife. In the fall of 1889 he moved to Penn Yan. Afterh the death of his wife he retuurned to Himrod.
  In the spring of 1899 he married Miss E. M. Folts, of Ilion, N. Y., and she and the children by his first wife survive him.
  Mr. Henderson was educated at Fairfield Academy and the Eastman Business. College. He conducted an extensive vineyard and fruit farm on the shore of Seneca Lake, below the village of Himrod.
   Mr. Henderson.had always been an active Democrat, and he was a substantial citizen and well thought of. His sudden death was a shock to the community where he had lived so long.
  Hon. Daniel D. Henderson, grandfather of the deceased, and Hon. John D. Henderson, a brother, were strong Democrats and each had been elected Member of Assembly. His brother died only six months ago.
  Mr. Henderson's funeral was held Monday afternoon at his late home, the Rev. R. D. Baldwin, of Sodus, officiating. Milo Lodge, F. & A. M., of Penn Yan attended. Deceased had been a member of that organization forty-one years.
