''Squire House ''-- Squire House, an old and much respected resident of Jacksonburg, died at his home this morning at 3:30 o'clock. Mr. House was taken sick Monday with appendicitis, and rapidly grew worse until the end came this morning.
The deceased was born in the town of Columbia, this county, sixty-three years ago. He was the son of a prosperous farmer and lived on the farm with his father until quite young man. He then moved to Mohawk and from there to Jacksonburg, where he has since conducted the Canal grocery for the past thirty-five years. His first wife died many years ago. He married for his second wife Sarah Klock of Jacksonburg. He is survived by his widow and one son and daughter, Francis and Justus, both of whom live at Jacksonburg. Mr. House was a Democrat and has always been prominently connected with his party. He was a member of the Galpin Post, G. A. R. When the war broke out he was one of the first to go forth to fight for his country. He was one of the best known residents of the county; almost every man, woman and child enjoying his acquaintance. His death removes another one of the many prominent citizens whose deaths have occurred within the past few months. The funeral will be held Sunday at one o'clock for m the late residence at Jacksonburg.

Mrs. Vedder Scott died at her home on Landing street this morning of spinal meningitis. For fourteen weeks Mrs. Scott had been in a semi-comatose state most of the time suffering from the dread desease and death was a sweet relief. Mrs. Scott was formerly Miss Francis House of Jacksonburg, a daughter of the late Squire House. She was born and brought up at the House homestead in that hamlet and came to this city about three years ago. Besides her husband, she is survived by one brother, Justice House, the genial Jacksonburg boniface.
