James Kaples died yesterday at the County Home Hospital, where he had been several months ailing from a complication of diseases. He was born in the town of German Flatts, where he resided and he also lived in this village and at Cooperstown, and was 62 years of age and had a wide acquaintance. The remains were brought to Howell's undertaking rooms, from which place the funeral will be held to-morrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made in Oak Hill Cemetery. Four daughters Mrs. James Dygert and Mrs. Raymond Dygert of this village and Mrs. Edith Boss and Miss Agnes Kaples, and one son, Elmer of Cooperstown are surviving.

Elmer Henry Kaple died Monday morning, March 25th. at the home of his sister Mrs. George McGinley on Susquehanna avenue, afte r an illness of several months, wtih sugar diabetes. He was born in Herkimer twenty-five years ago and had been a residen tof Cooperstown for several years. He was for some time in the employ of the National Express company. Surviving him besides Mrs. McGinley, is one other sister residing in Herkimer. The funeral was held at 9:30 o'clock Wednesday morning from St. Mary's church, the Rev. Father John C. Carey officiating, with interment in st. Mary's cemetery.

Mohawk
At Faxton Hospital, Utica, Monday morning occurred the death of Millard Kaples a prominent resident of this village.
Mr. Kaples had been confined to his home on Otsego street for several weeks and a few days ago was removed to the hospital where an operation was performed.
He was born in Little Falls in 1857, but moved to this village when five years old. He was at one time owner of one of the largest livery stables in Central New York and after retiring from this business went to work at Remington Typewriter Works.
He is survived by his widow, one son, his mother, four brothers and two sisters.
Interment at Oak Hill.

ILION — Gertrude Tayler Kaples, age 92, formerly of Prindle Apartments, died Friday, February 7,1986.
She was born November 9, 1893, in Barbados, W. Indies, the daughter of Edward and Mary Hatcher Tayler. In 1921, she married Clarence Kaples in Ilion. He died in 1952. She was employed at Remington Typewriter and later was employed as a cook at the Valley Tavern in Mohawk, She was a member of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church in Ilion and its Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the Mohawk American Legion Auxiliary for almost 40 years, the Mohawk Chapter Order ot the Eastern Star for over 50 years, the Herkimer County Republican Committee and Mohawk Board of Elections.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Monday at St Augustine's Episcopal Church. Ilion. Calling hours are Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Applegate Funeral Home, Ilion. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine's Episcopal Church or Cedarville Ambulance. Donation envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Mrs. Eva Kaples, 86, of 6 N. Otsego street, Mohawk died April 2, 1946 in Herkimer Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She was born in the town of Columbia, daughter of Israel and Margaret Shepard.
She was married to Millard Kaples in 1905 and they came to live in Mohawk. He died in 1910.
Mrs. Kaples is survived by one cousin, Miss Stella Barger, Mohawk.
Interment in Oak Hill.

Mohawk, Dec. 13, - The death of Horace Doxtader, one of Mohawk's honored and respected residents, occured at his home on Michigan street at 8:30 o'clock last night. He had been in failng health for the past year but had been confined to his bed for only a brief time. Death was caused by acute Bright's Disease. Deceased was born in the town of Manheim September 12, 1860. The greater part of his life had been spent in Mohawk. He was employed by the Remington Typewriter works for many years and for a short time at the Library Bureau/ He was the son of John and Maria Doxtader. He was married in September 1887. The only survivor is his wife. The funeral will be Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be private. The Rev. A. B. Boynton of the Reformed Church will officiate. Interment will be made in the Mohawk Cemetery.

New Hartford, Feb. 7,—Charles B. Kaple, 3 Oxford Road, New Hartford, died Wednesday night after an illness of several weeks.
He was born in Little Falls,, February 26, 1865, son of Abraham and Mary Kaple, and went to Utica 33 years ago and had been a valuable employe of Utica Box Company, as superintendent. He married Susie F. McCraith.
Several months ago he became associated with his son, Roy F. Kaple, in the Kaple Funeral Home of New Hartford. He attended the First Baptist Church of New Hartford.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. T. Giannotti, Syracuse; two sons, Bert H. Kaple, Atlanta, Ga., and Roy F. Funeral services for Charles B. Kaple, were held this afternoon at 3:15 from his late residence, 3 Oxford Road, New Hartford and at 3:30 from the First Baptist Church, the Rev. H. Stanley Jones, pastor of First Baptist Church of New Hartford and the Rev. Harold F. Sawyer, rector of Grace Episcopal Church, officiating. Among the floral tributes were pieces from employes of the Utica Box Company, Brunner Manufacturing Company, office employes of the Brunner Manufacturing Company, sales department of Brunner Manufacturing Company the Automotive Booster Club of Atlanta, Georgia, Utica Neighbors and boys on the corner. Friends acted as bearers. Interment was in the family plot in New Forest Cemetery.

Mrs. Susie F. Kaple 1426 Taylor, died yesterday morning, Sept. 12, 1938 , at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ahart, 1801 Taylor.
Mrs. Kaple had been in poor health since the death of her husband. Charles B. Kaple, in 1929. She was born in Ilion Dec. 14, 1867, daughter of George and Mary Lounsbury McCraith. she was a graduate of Ilion High School. Her marriage to Mr. Kaple took place in Mohawk. she later moved to Little Falls, then to Utica. she was a member of Grace church.
Surviving are two sons, Bert H., Atlanta, and Roy F., Syracuse, and a daughter, Ruby M. Giannoisi (?), Syracuse, and three grandchildren, Leanne M, Atlanta; Doris M. and Robert F. Kaple of Arizona.

Oscar Eckler died at Ilion Hospital at 9:30 this morning, Oct. 3, 1934, after a long illness.
HGe was 65 years old and had worked for Remington Typewriter Company for the past 50 years. He was the son of the late Martin and Elizabeth Eckler.
Mr. Eckler spent his entire life in Ilion, having been born here July 5, 1`869. He was marrie dto Ina Kaples, who died Dec. 3, 1928.
He is survived by three sons, Harry and Russell Eckler, Ilion, and Clyde Eckler, Putnam, Conn,; also by seven grandchildren.
