DEXTER — Richard A. "Dickie" Flath, age 47 of County Rt. 59, Dexter, passed away Friday afternoon at Samaritan Medical Center.
Dickie was born June 4, 1962 in Watertown, the son of Wendell and Barbara Bishop Flath. He graduated from General Brown High School in 1980.
Dickie worked for Pine Island Farms of Homestead Florida and later moved back to Dexter where he worked as an operator for Dexter Hydro Co.
He married Diane F. Shattuck on June 12, 1993 in Dexter.
He was a member of Sons of American Legion at Smith-Savage Post in Dexter. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed rebuilding old things making them work again.
He is survived by his wife Diane, children Derek, Nicole and Makayla all at home, his parents Wendell and Barbara Flath of Dexter, brothers Wendell Jr. and his wife Becky Flath of Dexter, Michael Flath of Dexter, mother-in-law Mabel Shattuck of Henderson, and sister-in-law Joanne Flath of Dexter. He also has several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a son Richard M. Flath in 1993.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9.

RUSHVILLE — Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dunton of Warren St. have received word of the birth of a new great-grandchild, Sara Elizabeth Getman, born Nov. 16 to Mr. and Mrs. Murray Getman of Albany.
Mrs. Getman Is the former Anne Dunton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dunton of North Rose, formerly of Rushville.
