 - Obituary (Binghamton Herald, NY, July 18, 2009)
Belle Deptuch of Ferndale, WA, passed away suddenly on July 14, 2009, at the young age of 48. She was born July 2, 1961, in Watertown, NY. Belle is survived by her husband John of 28 years; her son John and his wife Mandy and grandson Skyler of Oregon; her two daughters, Danielle and Amber of Ferndale; her brother, Sterling LaLone (Kathy) of Mannsville, NY; Sisters Deborah (Daryl) La Fountaine of Watertown, NY, Janice (Russell) Deptuch of Ferndale, WA, and Lisa (Fred) O'Conner of Oswego, NY. She had numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. She had a close relationship with her nephew Russell and niece April of Ferndale, WA. Belle is preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Charlotte Lalone and sister Robin Hatch, all of Adams Center, New York. Belle attended South Jefferson High School in Adams, NY, and grew up on her parent's dairy farm. This is where she met her husband, John. Belle and John moved to Kemah, Texas, in 1979 where they lived for 16 years. She then followed her sister Janice to Ferndale, WA, 1997, which Belle now considered home. Belle was employed at St. Francis Extended Health Care in Bellingham, WA, for the past 11 years as a cook and kitchen assistant manager. St. Francis was her second home and everyone who lived and worked there were part of her extended family. To many, she was a good friend, to few, a sister and a good mother, and to one, a loving wife. Within her power she sought to right injustice, heal what she could, stand up for what she believed and not take crap from anyone. Belles caring heart will be missed by all who knew her. She will not be forgotten. Belle's memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those she touched. Two memorial services will be held, one on Monday, July 20th at 5:00 PM at Ferndale Alliance Church, 6100 Church Rd., Ferndale, WA. The second will be at St. Francis Extended Health Care on Tuesday, July 21st at 3:30 PM. Please join us as we celebrate the life of Belle Mary Deptuch.
