Mrs. Katherine M. McCully of South Melcher Street Extension, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick V. Herringshaw, Little Falls RD 3, was united in marriage to Orlyn L. Congdon Jr., of Little Falls RD 3, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orlyn Congdon Sr., Herkimer, at a lawn ceremony July 31 at the home of the bride.
Rev. Calvin Lofstrom, pastor of the Wells United Methodist Church, performed the double
ring ceremony.
Mrs. Margaret Hutchinson of Johnstown was the organist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father and Mrs. Mary Lee Herringshaw, sister-in-law of the bride, of Little Falls, was matron of honor.
Other attendants were Miss Karen Congdon, sister of the bridegroom, of Herkimer, Miss Doris Ingersoll of Fultonville, Mrs. Janet Pross of Little Falls and Mrs. Jane Jacquays of Little Falls. Junior bridesmaid was Shelley C. McCully, daughter of the bride, of Johnstown.
Frederick P. Herringshaw, brother of the bride, of little Falls was the best man, with Lloyd Congdon, the bridegroom's uncle, of Little Falls, James Lasher of Little Falls, Leonard Press of Little Falls and David Jacquays of little Falls, as ushers. Michael McCully, son of the bride, of Johnstown was the ringbearer.
A reception for 250 followed the ceremony at the DeCarlolo Post Home in Little Falls with music provided by Dick Shotzhauer. Guests attended from Maine, Utica, Syracuse, Herkimer, Fort Plain, Fultonville, Broadalbin, Mayfield, Johnstown, Gloversville and Little Falls.
After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple is residing at South Melcher Street Extension.
The bride is a graduate of Little Falls High School and is employed by Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation. The bridegroom is a graduate of Little Falls High School and is employed by Vendltti Construction Company in Broadalbin.
