Marriage Notes for Donna Kay Beckingham and John Dewey Countryman

FORT PLAIN The engagement of Donna Kay Beckingham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Beckingham, East Springfield, to John D. Countryman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Countryman, Fort Plain RD 3, has been announced by the parents of the bride-to-be.
Miss Beckingham is a student at Springfield Central School. Countryman, a Fort Plain Central School graduate, is a senior at the Morrisville Agricultural and Technical College

CHERRYVALLEY - Miss Donna Kay Beckingham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore E. Beckingham, East Springfield, and John Dewey Countryman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Avery Countryman, Fort Plain RD 3, were married July 18 in the First Presbyterian Church, Cherry Valley, with the Rev. Ray L. Wotring performing the ceremony.
A family Bible surrounded by yellow and pink daisies, greenery and baby’s breath and two vases of yellow and pink daisies and white gladioli adorned the altar. The organist, Mrs. Irene Fassett, Eaat Springfield, played the traditional wedding music. The vocal soloist was Mrs. Evelyn Lundholm.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white floor length silk gown fashioned with a ruffled neckline and an empire waistline tied with white satin ribbon. Ruffles highlighted the long full sleeves, while ruffles and satin ribbon trimmed the hemline. Appliques of embroidered roses were scattered on the skirt and each sleeve. Her silk veil fell from a lace crown terminating in a chapel length train etched with white satin ribbon. She carried a bouquet of Sunny Day yellow and white roses, white daisies and baby’s breath with satin ribbon streamers.
The maid of honor was Miss Marjorie Beckingham, East Springfield, while the bridesmaids were the Misses Sue Countryman, Fort Plain; Leann Webb, Cherry Valley; Joyce Madison, East Springfield, and Debra Sikkema, Springfield Center.
The maid of honor was attired in an orchid gown with white trim and carried a yellow daisy bouquet with yellow streamers. The bridesmaids wore yellow gowns trimmed in white and carried orchid daisy bouquets with orchid streamers and yellow purses. Picture hats completed the attire of all the attendants.
The flower girl, Miss Rebecca Beckingham, wore a yellow gown trimmed in white and carried a basket of daisies.
David Countryman, Fort Plain, was the best man, while ushers were Tim and Mike Beckingham, East Springfield; Ricky Sikkema, Springfield Center, and Kenneth Maxwell, Fort Plain.
The ringbearer was Daniel Canipe, Fort Plain RD 3, and Theodore Beckingham was the candlelighter.
Following a reception at the Cherry Valley Fish and Game Club, the couple left on a wedding trip to Maine. For traveling, the bride wore light blue slacks with a white blouse and a white daisy and yellow rose corsage.
Mr. and Mrs. Countryman are residing at Jordanville RD 1.
The bride attended Springfield Central School, while the bridegroom, a graduate of the State University of New York at Morrisville, is employed by the Fort Plain Tire and Appliance Company.

The maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Beckingham, East Springfield, while the paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Avery Countryman. Fort Plain.
The paternal great grandfather is Floyd Alsdorf of Fort Plain. The maternal great grandmother is Marjorie Winters of Zephryhills. Fla.
Jason joins a brother. Joshua, 4, at home.
