  Mr. Francis W. “Frankie” Pacillo, age 59, a lifelong Amsterdam resident, passed away on Wednesday evening, October 12, 2016 at St. Mary’s Healthcare, Amsterdam in the presence of his family.
  He was born on Nov. 3, 1956 in Amsterdam, son of the late Michael and Myrtle (Waterbury) Pacillo and graduated with the Amsterdam High School “Class of 1975”. He was employed for over 25 years with the Sampson Cab Company, Amsterdam. In his leisure time he enjoyed playing cards, scratch offs and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
  He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather by this three daughters, Carrie Pacillo Staley of Amsterdam, Bonnie Rosa of Cleveland, OH and Tonya Pacillo of Amsterdam; siblings, Dottie Miller, Sharon Griffin, Michael Pacillo, Edwin Pacillo and Andy Pacillo and wife Nilda; cherished grandchildren, Robert, Isabella, Chelsea, Marky, Meghan and Natasha; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
  A graveside service at Fultonville Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

  Dale F. Pacillo 52, of Auburn, NY, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Auburn Community Hospital.
   Born in Amsterdam, New York, on May 14, 1962, Dale was the son of the late Michael and Myrtle Waterbury Pacillo. He was a graduate of SUNY Cobleskill, where he earned a degree in math. He proudly served his country with the US Navy Seabees, NMCB 7, Gulfport, MS.
   He was employed as a Resident Engineer with McFarland & Johnson of Binghamton, NY.
   From a young age through his military years, he was involved in wrestling. In more recent years he still enjoyed going to watch wrestling matches.
   Dale was a pastor while in Mississippi. He truly loved the Lord and was able to find the good in everyone.
   He is survived by his wife Dianne Matuszak Pacillo, his children, that knew him as a #1 Dad, daughter Melissa Pacillo of MS., sons Ryan and Joshua Pacillo of MS., step daughters, Michayla Matuszak of Auburn and Marissa Joyce of Cortland, stepson Andy Joyce of Camden, grandson Andrew Joyce, sisters Sharon Griffin and Dorothy LaPorte, both of Amsterdam, brothers Michael, Edward, and Frankie Pacillo, all of Amsterdam, and Andy (Nelda) Pacillo of LA., nieces and nephews.
   Friends are invited to call on the family at Lakes Church, 138 E. Genesse St., Auburn, NY, Wednesday, July 23rd from 11 AM to 1 PM with the service following. After the service, burial with military honors will be in Soule Cemetery, and a reception will follow at Lakes Church. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 24th at 12 PM at Step of Faith Church, 54 VanDerveer St., Amsterdam, NY, and a Celebration of Life Reception will be held at 556 Mohawk Drive, Fonda, NY, the home of Brett Butler.
   In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Dale F. Pacillo may be made to Lakes Church, Auburn, or Step of Faith Church, Amsterdam. White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St., Auburn, NY, is in charge of arrangements.

  LITTLE FALLS — Miss Barbara Fulmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester F. Fulmer of RD2 , became the bride of Wayne Hartman at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, in the Newport Methodist Church, with the Rev. Russell Little, pastor, performing the double ring rites.
  The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hartman of Main St., Newport. Vases of gladiolas, pompons and mums were used as altar decorations, Mrs. Marian Davis, of Herkimer, provided traditional organ wedding music.
  Miss Barbara Brown, of Little Falls, was maid of honor with Miss Sharon Hartman, sister of the bridegroom, as brides maid.
  Acting as best man fof his brother was Larry Hartman, with Keith Fulmer, cousin of the bride, William Forbes, bridegrooms cousin and Clayton Sheffler of Newport, ushering.
  Escorted by her father, the bride wore a full-length gown styled with a fitted bodice of lace, long sleeves and a scalloped neckline, accented with pearls. Her bouffant skirt was of crystalite material and had a redingote front. Her detachable train was of crystalite and was trimmed with lace. A queen’s crown of pearls was attached to a fingertip veil of French llusion. She carried a colonial bouquet of white pompons and kamations. with a lavender orchid center.
  The maid of honor was dressed in a blue chiffon gown, styled with an Empire waistline, A-line skirt and scooped neckline. The bodice was trimmed with chalk beads, She carried a bouquet of pompons and carnations. tinted to match her gown. The bridesmaid was gowned in a pink lace dress, styled with Empire waistline. A-line skirt and round neckline Her bouquet of carnations and pompons was tinted to match her outfit.
  Following a 1 to 5 p.m. reception at the Polish Community Home, Herkimer, the couple left on a wedding trip to the Northern part of the state. Canada and Niagara Falls. They will make their home at Little Falls RD 2.
  The bridegroom is a 1967 graduate of West Canada Valley Central School and is now employed as a mechanic at Hartman’s Service Station, Newport.
  The bride was feted at a shower given by Mrs. Earl Fulmer and Mrs. Harold Fulmer
   Wedding guests were present from Rochester, Spencerport, Richfield Springs, Utica. Springfield Center and Valley towns.

  Miss Barbara Ann Robertson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley J. Robertson, 309 N. Main St., became the bride of William Henry Bateman, son of William Bateman, Newport, at 11 a. m. today in St. Francis de Sales Church.
  The Rev. Paul Antos, assistant pastor, performed the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with Fuji mums and pompons. Ribbons tied the pews and a white aisle runner was laid down. Vocalist, Miss Mary Falk, sang "Ave Maria”, accompanied by organist, Mrs. Ann Brennan.
  Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a gown of imported Italian Dupioni silk and hand-clipped French bridal lace, styled with a fitted bodice and accented with a lace panel rising from the waist and framing the portrait neckline. The long sleeves ended in bridal points. The bouffant skirt was fashioned with scalloped lace inserts and her fingertip French silk illusion veil was caught to a queen’s crown of pearls, studded with brilliants. She carried a mother-of-pearl prayer book with a white orchid and ivy cascade bouquet.
  Her sister, Miss Sandra Robertson, was maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were the Misses Muriel Jann, of Utica; Ann Carswell, Herkimer; Mary Anne Onoff,
Syracuse, and Nancy Donahue, Ilion. All wore floor-length gowns of georgette taffeta in peacock blue, styled with portrait necklines,and wide collars ending in bows in back, matching the low the bows on the bouffant hoop skirts. They wore matching headpieces of velvet bound diamonds, with circular veils studded with brilliants, and long mitts ending in calla points at the wrists, and carried cascade bouquets of white Fuji mums, pompons and ivy.
  The flower girl, Linda DeGrechie, of Ilion, bride's cousin wore a peacock blue taffeta gown. Her headpiece was a tiara of white baby mums and she carried a cascadebouquet of white Fuji mums, pompons and ivy.
  Serving as best man was Joseph Fauvelle, of Newport, while ushers were Ronald Youngs, Middleville; Jack Ryan, and James Butler of Newport, and James Robertson, bride’s brother. Timothy Rogers, bride’s cousin, was ring bearer.
  Following a wedding breakfast at the Palmer House an afternoon reception at the Ukrainian Club, the couple will leave for a wedding trip to the New England States.
  The bride is a graduate of Herkimer High School, Class of 1954, and is employed by the New York Telephone Co. The bridegroom is a graduate of West Canada Central School, Class of 1952, attended Ithaca College and is presently serving with the U. S. Army at Fort Knox, Ky.
  Pre-nuptial events were given by Miss Anne Carswell, Mrs. Sharon Hughes, Miss Judith Patterson. Mrs. James Rogers Sr., Mrs. Edward Corkery, Miss Sandra Robertson and Mrs. Kenneth Rogers.

  Mrs. George Springer, aged 40, of Fonda, died on May 30 in St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, following a short illness.
  She was born on February 18, 1916, in Herkimer, the daughter of James and Hazel (Perry) Rogers. She was married to George Springer of Richfield Springs in 1933. They lived in Richfield Springs for several years before moving to Fonda.
  Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Jacklyn, and Mrs. Karla Bowler of Herkimer; a son, Philip, of Herkimer; a grandson; her parents; two brothers, James and Kenneth Rogers of Herkimer, and a sister, Mrs. Bette Robertson of Herkimer.
  Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday in the Jackson Funeral Home in Fonda and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Cecelia's Church. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in Little Falls.

Mrs. Bernard and three sons, Douglas, Jimmie and Bob are spending a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Murrell Perry in Netcong, New Jersey. A testimonial dinner was given Mr. Bernard on Wednesday evening by fellow employees of the General Crushed Stone Co.

  HERKIMER-Mrs. Lois Barscz, 45, of 920 Westwood Dr., wife of John J. Barscz, died June 11 in Herkimer Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
  She was born in Herkimer, daughter of Mrs. James Herkel and the late Fred M. Kenyon. She married John Barscz in 1943, at Lakeland, Fla. Mrs. Marscz was a graduate of Herkimer High School and attended the Utica School of Commerce.
  She wa s employed for 15 years by the New York Telephone Company. She was a member of the Reformed Church and affiliated with the Memorial Hospital Guild the PTA and was active in Girl Scouting.
  She leaves her husband, her mother, a daughter, Laureen; two sons, John Jr., and Christopher, all at home and two brothers, Fred P. Kenyon, Mohawk and James Herkel, Utica.
  The funeral will be at 11 tomorrow from the Petykiewicz Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
 Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today.

  He was born December 12, 1921, a son of William and Katherine Barscz. He attended schools in Herkimer and during World War II served in the US Army.
  He was first married to Lois Kenyon in 1943, who passed away on June 8. 1968 He later married the former Marjorie Brazie on August 8, 1970 in Herkimer
   Surviving besides his wife are two sons, John (Skip) Jr. and Christopher both in Herkimer, one daughter, Laureen in Meadville. Pa , two grandchildren, also one sister, Mrs Helen Garlock in Mohawk.

  MOHAWK—Miss Barbara L. Hy|de, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred B Hyde, of Mohawk RFD 1, became the bride of James G. Herkel, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James G. Herkel, Sr., of 328 Graham St. at 1 p.m. today in a double ring ceremony in the Reformed Church, performed by the Rev. James W. Benes, pastor.
  The church was decorated with white gladioli. Mrs. Paul Agrelius was organist.
  Miss Beverly Hyde, of Mohawk, was maid of honor for her twin sister. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Dorothy West, of Newport, a sister of the bride, and Miss Nancy MacDonald, of Mohawk, a friend. Miss. Susan Robin West, of Newport, was flower girl for her aunt.
  Fred Kenyon, of Mohawk, a step-brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were John Barscz, of' Herkimer, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Robert Mellert, of New Hartford, friend of the bridegroom.
  Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a floor-length gown of white Chantilly lace and tulle, fashioned with a modified Sabrina neckline accented with iridescent sequins, long sleeves ending in bridal points and a fitted bodice. The full skirt, was made of tulle over ruffled tulle and taffeta underskirts. A full panel of chantily lace covered the back of the skirt and made a pointed peplum effect in front over a lace appliqued tulle skirt. Her lace pill box headpiece was attached to a fingertip length veil of imported French illusion.
  The maid of honor and bridesmaids wore street-length dresses of hunter green silk organza. The strapless bodices were styled with pleated cummerbunds of silk organza and double tee straps. The bouffant skirts of organza over silk taffeta were finished off with deep hemlines. The short jackets, cut into Sabrina necklines and deep vee backs, were completed with bracelet-length puffed sleeves. They chose headpieces of matching green tulle petals and circular veiling.
  The bride carried a prayerbook centered with a white orchid, with streamers of tiny white ribbon tied in bridal knots.
  The maid of honor carried a cascade bouquet of white pompons with red roses, while the bridesmaids carried cascade bouquets of lavender pompons with yellow roses.
  The flower girl was dressed identically to the bride, with a floor-length gown, and carried a basket of assorted garden flowers.
  The bride’s mother wore a pure silk avocado green sheath dress. The bridegroom's mother wore an Italian jersey purple sheath dress. Both had white orchid corsages.
   After a reception at the American Legion Home, Mohawk, the couple will leave for a two-week honeymoon in the Southern States and Florida. After Sept. 25, they will reside at 131 Forrest St., Utica.
  Mrs. Herkel is a 1952 graduate Mohawk Central High School and is employed as a secretary at the General Electric Co., French Rd.. Utica. Mr. Herkel is a 1953 graduate of Herkimer High School and attended St. Lawrence University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He is employed at the American Telephone & Telegraph Co.. 280 Genesee St., Utica.
  Pre-nuptial events were given by Mrs. John Barscz, Mrs. Fred Kenyon, Mrs. Robert West. Miss A Beverly Hyde and Miss Nancy MacDonald. The bridal party and immediate family were entertained at a cocktail party Friday evening, after rehearsal, by the bridegroom's family.
  Guests attended from Torrington Conn.; Boston, Mass; Rochester, New Hampshire, Utica, New Hartford and valley towns.

   The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Robert H. Rowsam, paster, in the church, which was decorated with white pompons. Mrs. Eugene Helmer sang “Always,” “I Love You Truly” and “The Lord’s Prayer,” accompanied by Mrs. Walter Niermeyer, organist.
  Miss Jane Whiteman, Preble, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor, and Mrs. Steven Dzula Jr., sister of the bride, matron of honor. Miss Barbara Moses was bridesmaid. Richard Wheeler served as best man, and ushers were Steven Dzula, Jr., and Howard Dunn, Jr.
  Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a deluster satin and lace gown, fastened in princess style. The bodice was styled in a portrait neckline, embroidered in pearls, and the skirt ended in a court train. Her silk illusion veil was edged in lace and caught to a hat of satin and lace, trimmed with sequins and pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses, pompons and baby's breath, centered with an orchid.
  The maid of honor chose a strapless gown of nylon net and silkette over taffeta, made with a fitted bodice and floor length skirt with bustle back. Her matching braided hat was trimmed with a small veil. The bridesmaid and matron of honor had identical gowns in rose and green and matching bouquets of red, talisman and yellow roses, white pompons and baby’s breath.
  A reception was held following the ceremony in the church parlors. Guests attended from Cortland, Preble, New Jersey, Ellisburg, Ithaca, Syracuse, Rome and valley towns. After a trip to Florida, the couple will reside in their new home on Jones Rd., Herkimer.
  The bride is a graduate of Herkimer High School, Class of 1953. She attended Cornell University and is a licensec milk tester. He is a 1947 graduate of Tully Central School and served three years in the Marines. He attended Cornell University and ls a technician for the Artificial Breeders’ Association.
  The bride was honored at three showers given by Mrs Edith Dreizler, Mrs. Evelyn Dreizler, Mrs. Newcomb Holister, Miss Helen Devine, Miss Moses and Mrs. Dzula.
