  Former Lake Orion resident, Violet A. (Vi) Kibbe of Fostoria died March 28 at the age of 69.
  Mrs. Kibbe is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Mrs. John (Doris) Jenkins of Fostoria, Robert of Lake Orion, Bernard of Petosky, David of Goodrich and of Ortonville.
  She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.She was the daughter of Mrs. Jenny Manning of Oxford and the sister of Melvin, Jerry and Roland Root. Mrs. Kibbe was a member of the Watertown Missionary Church. Funeral service was Saturday, March 30, from the Lake Orion Chapel, Sparks-Griffin Funeral. Interment was at Oxford Cemetery.

  Mazie M. Carlson of Richmond, Michigan, died 19 Nov 2008, at age 91. The former Mazie Kibbe was born 19 Dec 1916 in Vassar, Michigan, the daughter of Rev. George Kibbe and Ula Kibbe formerly of Lake Orion. She was the wife of the late Gordon Kenneth Martin and the mother of Kenneth (Lela) Martin of CA., Sharon (John) Moyses of Richmond, and Diane (Paul) Graves of Zeeland. Loving Grandmother of 9 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren, and 15 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Sister of Cecil (Venita) Kibbe of Port Huron, Ray (Margaret) Kibbe of Port Huron, George Kibbe of Fla., Marge (Lloyd) Lake of Oxford, and Lela (Bill) Fitzpatrick of Pigeon.
   Preceded in death by brothers Robert Kibbe, Carson Kibbe, Marlin Kibbe, and Stanley Kibbe, sisters Theda Shea and Faye, Grandson Kenneth Martin, and his mother Barbara.

  Gerald, known as 'Bob' was a veteran of WW II. Bob is remembered for his sense of humor and practical jokes, kind heart, and his smile. His hobby was building model airplanes, as he was a pilot during the war. He died suddenly at the age of 48 of a heart attack, after working in his yard. He left a wife and two step daughters.

Edna Mae Dunn

  Edna Dunn was born in 1923 to Martha Lena and Ezra Dunn. She was the sixth child born to the couple. On June 8, 1946, she married Edward Leroy Kuck in Napoleon, Ohio. They had a son together--Bruce--before divorcing. Edna then married Carson Kibbie. The couple welcomed Dennis and Patricia into the world. Her children were left without a mother when they were very young as she died on December 5, 1954 coming home from a dance in Metamora. She was 31 years old. There were 5 others in the car, Edna was in the back seat. The driver of the car, 19-year old Earline Wagenshutz, attempted to pass three other cars on a hill one mile north of Oxford on M24, but hit the car in the oncoming lane head on, killing four of the six passengers in her car and the driver of the other car. The three cars following behind also crashed.

  Theda M. Shea died on Dec. 10, 2004, at age 81. She was the widow of Leslie Shea. The former Theda M. Kibbe was a daughter of the Rev. George Kibbe and Ula Kibbe, formerly of Lake Orion.
  She was the mother of Darlene and Donna Jean; the sister of Les and Lorraine Jansen, Mazie, Cecil, George, Marlin, Ray, Leila, Marge and the late Faye, Carson, Robert and Stan Kibbe. She's also survived by seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

  Margaret Joyce Lake, known as “Marge”Lake, a lifetime Oxford - Lake Orion area resident, died Friday, February 26, 2016, surrounded by family at McLaren Hospital, Lapeer; age 91.
   Margaret J. Kibbe was born May 24, 1924 in Lapeer to George Kibbe and Ula Kibbe. On October 26, 1942 she married Lloyd R. Lake.
   Marge was survived by her sons, Larry (Donna) Lake of Metamora and Terry (Linda) Lake of Lapeer; her sister, Leila (Bill) Fitzpatrick of Caseville; her brothers, George Kibbe of Florida and Ray Kibbe of South Carolina; her grandsons, Larry R. (Carrie) Lake of Tennessee; Ryan Lake of Metamora, Matthew (Cara) Lake of Massachusetts and Nathan Lake of West Bloomfield, her granddaughter, Lisabeth (Gary) Wiles of North Carolina; and 8 great-grandchildren.

  Lloyd R. Lake, age 91, of Oxford, died Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility.
   Lloyd Raymond Lake was born April 11, 1922 to Ward Lake and Ethel (Jewell) Lake. He married Margaret "Marge" Kibbe over 71 years ago. Mr. Lake proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, from November 12, 1942 until January 1946. Lloyd retired from Ford Motor Company, where he worked over 28 years as a test driver at the Romeo Test Track. Before working for Ford Motor he owned and operated Lake's Garage in Lake Orion. Mr. Lake enjoyed deer hunting, drag racing, working on "big block" Chevy engines, bowling and playing horseshoes.
   Lloyd was survived by his loving wife: Marge Lake; sons: Larry (Donna) Lake of Hadley and Terry (Linda) Lake of Lapeer; grandchildren: Larry, Ryan, Matthew, Nathan and Lisabeth; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters: Doris Hill of Independence, MO and Margaret Mayer of Lake City, MI; several nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Abraham Lake and Donald Lake.

  Marlin Richard Kibbe, Sr.
Age 79, recently of Owosso, formerly of Lake Orion, Oxford and Fostoria, Michigan, and Fairdale, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Memorial Healthcare.
  Marlin worked most of his life as a truck driver.
  Marlin was born September 5, 1927 in Lake Orion, Michigan to George Earl Sr. and Ula Lavina (Bogart) Kibbe. He was a proud American Veteran! He was a U.S. Merchant Marine. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army, 2nd Reconnaissance Company, 2nd Infantry Division during the Korean War. He received the Purple Heart in 1953.
  On September 30, 1957 he married Betty Jenkins in Angola, Indiana. He was a member of the Corunna Church of the Nazarene.
  Marlin has been active with many organizations over the years including the American Legion, VFW, Lions, Masons, Eagles, AmVets, Teamsters, United States Constabulary Association, Military Order of the Purple Heart, and the Disabled American Veterans.
  Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Betty; daughters, Carolyn (Eugene) Hartsuck of Rochester Hills, and Teresa (Charlie) Riddle of Owosso; grandchildren, Kenneth (Amanda) Hartsuck of Sterling Heights, David (Kristina) Hartsuck of Rochester Hills, Joshua (Azure) Wells of Mt. Pleasant, Aaron Wells of Howell, Andrew Riddle of Kingston, Ohio, Adrian Aguila of Miami, Florida, and Aaron Aguila of Kingston, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Wesley, and Kaitlyn Hartsuck; sisters, Mazie Carlson of Davison, Margaret (Lloyd) Lake of Oxford, and Leila (Bill) Fitzpatrick of Pigeon; brothers, Cecil (Venita) Kibbe, George Kibbe, and Ray (Margaret) Kibbe all of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

  Marlin R. Kibbe Jr., of Fostoria, Michigan, formerly of Oxford, Michigan, passed away Thursday November 17, 2005 at Saginaw St. Mary's Hospital at age 44 years.
   Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, November 22, 2005, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, Rev. Harold K. Polk officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 PM both Sunday and Monday. Visitation will also be on Tuesday, at the church, from 10 AM until the time of the service.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
   Marlin was born November 29, 1960, in Pontiac, MI. He had been employed by WNEM TV5 in Saginaw as the 6 PM News Producer. He loved and lived all forms of the performing arts and news media from television to radio to newspaper. He loved Karaoke and was crowned 'Karaoke King.'
   He was survived by his parents Marlin and Betty (Jenkins) Kibbe Sr.; sisters Carolyn (Eugene) Hartsuck and Teresa (fiance Charlie Riddle); nephews Kenneth (Amanda) Hartsuck, David (Kristina) Hartsuck, Joshua (Azure) Wells and Aaron Wells; great-nieces Brittany and Kaitlyn Hartsuck; great-nephew Wesley Hartsuck; many loving special friends and family members.

  He was the father of Gary Kibbe, Roger Kibbe (Nancy), Jeffery Kibbe, Pamela, Sandy, Guy Kibbe and Michael Kibbe; the grandfather of five; the brother of Cecil Kibbe(Vernita), Ray Kibbe, George Kibbe, Marlin Kibbe (Betty), Mazie Carlson, Margaret (Lloyd) Lake, Leila (Bill) Fitzpatrik, Theda Shea and the late Robert Kibbe and Carson Kibbe. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
   He was the son of the late George Earl Kibbe (1890-1979) and Ula Levina Bogert Kibbe (1897-1938).
  Mr. Kibbe was formerly a machine operator and enjoyed doing outdoor work.
