CENTRAL SQUARE - Robert B. Towne, 52, of Central Square RD 1, died Wednesday in Syracuse after a long illness.
A native of Parish, Mr. Towne was a resident of the Brewerton and Central Square areas most of his life. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a life member of VFW Post 7325 of Constantia and the Fuller Taylor American Legion Post of Central Square.
Mr. Towne retired in October 1977, from the State Department of Transportation, Barge Canal Division, due to ill helath. He operated heavy equipment for 18 years.
Surviving are his wife, the former Neva Tilton; two sons, David of North Syracuse and Robert Lee, Town of Central Square; a daughter, Mrs. Clara Louise Munger of Brewerton; three brothers, James of Pulaski, Calvin of Mallory and Harry Towne of Cantral Square, and a sister, Mrs. Gale Van Voorhis of Parish.
Swrvices will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Watson Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Rev Ray Williams officiating. Spring burial will be in Carley's Mills Cemetery, Hastings.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Friday at the funeral home. Military services will be at 8 p.m. Friday by the V.F.W. post.

Joyce M. Horning, 86 of Parish, died Sunday at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. She was born in Happy Valley, the daughter of the late Newton and Katherine Tilton. She was a member of the Russell Horning Post #601American Legion Ladies Axillary.
Joyce is survived by her three daughters, Karen Robinson of Parish, Susan VanAntwerp of Parish and Debbie Allen of Mallory; her step-son, Peter Horning of Florida; along with six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and her sister Neva Towne of Nevada.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2016 in the Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish NY. Arrangements are in care of the Harter Funeral Home, 2983 W. Main Street, Parish NY.

A life resident of the Parish-Hastings area, Mr. Horning was a logger and was employed by the F.E. Miller and Son Co. until his retirement.
Surviving are his wife, the former Joyce Tilton; two sons, David of Brewerton and Peter of Florida; two daughters, Sue Sobotka and Debbie Allen, both of Parish; one stepson, Thomas Robinson, of Florida, one stepdaughter, Karen Robinson of Parish; one sister, Carrie, Reid of Florida; and several grandchildren.

Irene A. Felt, 66, of county Route 16,Mexico,died Wednesday at Oswego Hospital.
Born in Parish, she was a graduate of Pulaski High School. She was a secretary at the Pulaski Democrat newspaper.
Her husband, Carl Sr., died in 1974.
Survivors: Two daughters, JoAnne Woods of Fulton and Dawn Pospesel of Killeen, Texas; two sons, Fred A. of Sylvan Beach and Carl Jr. of Pennellville; five sisters, Edith Popp of Orwell, Ruth Sampson of Ogdensburg, Alice Allis and Joyce Tanner, both of Altmar, and Rose Borland of Parish; five brothers, Allen Smith, Raymond Smith, Stanley Smith and Bruce Smith, all of Parish, and Gordon Smith of Constantia; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

MEXICO - Carl H. Felt, 63. of County Route 16, Town of Mexico, died Tuesday at State University Hospital in Syracuse.
Mr. Felt was a former member of the Town of Mexico Highway Department and was a special deputy of the Oswego County Sheriff's Department for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Irene Smith Felt; three sons. Ruth is predeceased by a son, Glenn Frank Sampson and a sister Irene Felt.
Ruth was born on Jun 10, 1941 in Parish, NY, daughter of Glenn and Mildred Allen Smith. She was a Walmart Manager for 16 yrs and a previous owner of Cattleman's East Restaurant. Ruth was a recipient of the "Maple City Good Neighbor" and "Outstanding and Generous Service to the School and Community of Morristown, NY" awards; and an honorary member of the Morristown Fire Department; a member of the Youth Garden Club in Ogdensburg; the Boy Scouts of America (Cub Scouts) and Scout Master since 2005; and attended and involved with the First Baptist Church of Ogdensburg
