Downs, Dr. Craig Edwin died peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends after a long struggle with cancer. Dr. Downs was a Pediatric Intensivist who provided a high level of care for critically ill patients. He practiced at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO and at University Hospital in Columbia, MO.
Dr. Downs was born in Cadillac, MI, Nov. 1st, 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Vivian Downs.
He is survived by his wife Marcia, 6 children, Erin, Zachary and wife Ashley, Hillary, Tucker, Justina, Mitchell, two grand children Amelia and Emma Downs, and two sisters, Cathy Kailinowski and Dianne Copeland.

Former Bloomington resident Kenneth Edward Franck, "Big Chief," 74, died Nov. 30, 2008, at Huntington Place Rehab and Nursing Center, Rockledge, Florida.
Mr. Franck was born Nov. 21, 1934, in Dayton, Ohio, to John and Mildred (Edick) Franck.
He was employed by RCA/Thomson Consumer Electronics at both Indianapolis and Bloomington plants. He was last employed by Packaging Systems of Lafayette, Indiana.
He is survived by his son Eric Franck of Neptune Beach, Florida; daughter Jill Burns of Jacksonville Beach, Florida; brother Jack Franck of Aiken, South Carolina; brother Richard Franck of Melbourne, Florida, and mother Mildred Franck of Aiken, South Carolina. Mr. Franck had three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Franck.

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. — Former Bloomington resident Phyllis Ann Franck, 74, died November 21, 2007, at her home in Jacksonville, Florida.
A graveside service and burial was held Wednesday, November 28, at H. Warren Smith Cemetery, Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
Ms. Franck was born September 7,1933, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to Gilbert and Francis (DeMar) Voelker.
She was employed by RCA/Thomson Consumer Electronics for 29 years. During her time at the Bloomington plant from 1980-1994, she worked as Employment Manager. In 1997, she moved to Jacksonville, Florida, to enjoy her retirement. In her retirement, she loved spending time with family and friends. She also worked part-time for ServCorp.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Jobe Franck of Neptune Beach, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Jeff Burns of Jacksonville Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Andrew Franck of Neptune Beach, Florida, and Emma Burns of Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Francis Voelker.
She was an incredible mother and friend.

George L. Edick
Sept. 13, 2006
George L. Edick of North Salem died Sept. 13 at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis. He was 56.
Born May 9, 1950, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Frieda (Alldredge) Edick. He married Brenda Thurnall in Indianapolis on Feb. 15, 1989, and she survives.
Mr. Edick graduated from Danville Community High School. He worked 29 years as a machine operator with Diamond Chain.
He was a member of the United Steel Workers Association and the Gold Wing Riders Association.
Additional survivors include a son, Bobby M. Works of Jamestown; a daughter, Amy Fletcher of Greenwood; a brother, Duane Edick of Lawrence; sisters Glenda Poynter of Bainbridge and Eileen Hall of Martinsville; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Terry Edick.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at Baker Funeral Home in Danville. Interment will follow at New Winchester Cemetery.
