Marriage Notes for Douglas Howard Hime and Jean Madeline Snell

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Snell of East Fulton street, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jean Madeline, to Douglas Howard Hime, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hime of East State street extension. The wedding will take place in the near future.

Miss Jean Madeline Snell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Snell of 7214 East Fulton street, was united in marriage yesterday on the 27th wedding anniversary of her parents, to Douglas Hime, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hime of Dennies Crossing. The ceremony was performed at 1:30 at the North Main Street Methodist church, by the Rev. Paul Hydon, in the presence of relatives and friends.
Miss Elisabeth Bartlett of Broadlbin gave an organ recital as the guests arrived, and played the traditional wedding music.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was gowned in white chiffon and satin, with a long veil, and carried a bouquet of American beauty roses. Her maid of honor, Miss Virginia Montoney, wore a gown of aquamarine and carried Talisman roses. The best man was Richard H. Davis and the ushers Jack Batty and Ronald McCoy.
A reception followed in the church parlors, with Mrs. Harry Gulick in charge of the refreshment table.
The couple will reside at Dennies Crossing following a short wedding trip. Mrs. Hime attended the Gloversville High school and has been employed in the General Dry Batteries plant. Mr. Hime was graduated from the Gloversville High school in 1943 and has since been engaged in dairy farming

Marriage Notes for Howard William Hime Jr and Donna Farley

Miss Donna Joan Farley and Howard W. Hime Jr., were married at 2 Saturday afternoon in the Mayfield Methodist Church by Rev. Kenneth Wait, the pastor. The church was decorated with baskets of gladioli and chrysanthemums. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Farley, Broadalbin RD 1, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard W. Hime Sr., Gloveraville RD 2.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white rosepoint lace and tulle over taffeta with sweetheart neckline enhanced with pearls and sequins, with basque bodice and bouffant skirt with alternate layers of rosepoint lace and tulle ruffles.
She wore a crown of rosepoint lace encrusted with bridal pearls and sequins with an attached fingertip veil of imported French illusion edged with sequins and carried a bouquet of white and red mums.
Mrs. Patricia Prokop, of Broadalbin RD 1, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. She wore a gown of turquoise silk organza with headpiece to match and carried a bouquet of yellow mums.
Miss June Zwahak of Amsterdam RD 4, was the bridesmaid and Miss Linda Farley of Broadalbin RD 1, sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. Their gowns were identical to that of the matron of honor in coral and white silk organza with headpiece to match. They carried bouquets of yellow mums. Sheerie Hime, niece of the bridegroom was the flower girl and her gown was similar to that of the bridemaids.
Douglas Hime of Gloversville RD 2, brother of the bridegroom was best man. Richard Stahl and Shawn Hime, a nephew of the bridegroom, of Gloversville, were ushers. Timothy Hime, nephew of the bridegroom, was the ring bearer.
The mother of the bride was attired in an orchid chiffon dress and wore a corsage of white roses. The bridegroom's mother wore a blue and white print dress with red accessories and a corsage of red roses.
A reception for 100 guests was held at the Foresters Club in Gloversville. Later the young couple left on a trip to Niagara Falls and after Oct. 1 will reside at Gloversville RD 2.
The bride was graduated from the Perth Central School and is employed at Leon F. Swears Inc. in Johnstown. The bridegroom is a graduate of Mayfield Central School and is employed at Leon F. Swears Inc.
