Walter H. Adams, age 62, of School Street passed away early Wednesday morning, July 6, 2011 in the Oneida Healthcare Center with his loving family at his side.
He was born on Oct. 2, 1948 in Canastota, N.Y., a son of Charles and Grace (Petrie) Adams and was a graduate of VVS Central School.
During the Vietnam War, Walt served his country with the United States Air Force from 1969-1972.
In 1981 he married Emily L. Thompson in Verona, N.Y. and the couple has shared a loving union of over thirty years together.
Most recently Walt was employed with the Madison-Oneida BOCES in Verona and prior to that retired from Oneida Limited Silversmiths with over thirty years of service.
In his spare time he enjoyed reading, but his biggest enjoyments came from the times he spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife Emily; his children and their spouses, Julia (Michael) Gish, Diana (Albert) Russo, Rachael (Alan) Dagg, Matthew (Corie) Adams and Danette (Jeff) Allen; fifteen beloved grandchildren; his mother, Grace Adams; his sisters and their spouses, Pat (Bob) Rowland, Cindy (Paul) Swistik, Linda (Cliff) Hand and his brother, Alan (Doreen) Adams and several nieces and nephews.
Walt was predeceased by his father and one brother, Charles D. Adams.
Family and friends are invited to meet the family at a memorial gathering on Saturday, July 9, 2011 from 1-3 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home, Inc., 23 Front St., Vernon, N.Y. Malecki Funeral Home Inc., Vernon, New York

Sgt. First Class Michael R Kenna of Herkimer is serving as commander of the Army Recruiting Station at 70 Castle St., in Geneva
Kenna previously served at the Hudson Recruiting Station in the Albany district and wears tne gold recruiter badge with two sapphire stars for excellence in job performance
Kenna is a veteran of the Vietnam conflict He has many decorations including the presidential unit citation, the valorous unit citation and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm Leaf.
He is the son of Mr and Mrs. Charles B Kenna of Albany and is married to the former JoAnn Breish, daughter of Mr and Mrs Paul M Breish of Goodell Avenue, Herkimer.

Herkimer - Lt. and Mrs. Charles Kenna, E. Herkimer, are the parents of a son, born Friday in Memorial Hospital. Li9eutenant Kenna is stationed in th eHawaiian Islands. Mrs. Kenna is the former Miss Catherine Petrie.
