  David John Graves was born on May 13, 1937 at Dell Rapids, SD, the son of Theron and Luella (Orcutt) Graves. He lived in Dell Rapids until the age of six when he moved with his family to Trent. He attended school in Trent and graduated from Trent High School in 1955. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1960 and was discharged in 1962. He worked in the Minneapolis area for a while and returned to Trent. He was married to Donna Evenson on May 27, 1967 at Menno, SD. The couple lived in Sioux Falls until 1970 when they moved to Trent. David worked for Sunshine Foods Bakery in Sioux Falls for 25 years. Donna died on February 18, 1990.
   David died on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Madison. He was 72 and preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter and two brothers.
   Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Dirk (Jennifer) Graves of Anderson, SC; his daughter, Dachelle Graves of Sioux Falls; his three grandchildren, Rebekah, Daniel and Aidan and his sister, Diane Damm of Trent.
   David's funeral service will begin 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Trent Baptist Church. Vistition will begin at noon on Friday, February 26, 2010 with the family present at 7:00 p.m. at Kahler Funeral Home.
