  One Year Ago ... June 15, 1962 — Announcement was made of the marriage of Lawrence M. Fowler and Miss Joanne R. Zoller, St. Johnsville.

  Mr. and Mrs. Larry Fowler, RD 2 Fort Plain, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on June 8 at a family dinner at the Poplars Restaurant, Fultonville. The anniversary dinner was hosted by the Fowler children and Mrs. Fowler's father. Jack Zoller.
  Lawrence M. Fowler and Joanne R. Zoller were married June 9, 1962 at St. John's Retormed Church in St. Johnsville. They have five children. Tara Stanton of Boca Raton, Fla.; Tamara, a junior at SUNY Potsdam; Scott, a second year student at Mohawk Valley Community College, Utica; Tanya, a senior at Fort Plain Central School; and Troy, a three-year-old living at home.

Marriage Notes for Janet Sue Fowler and Anthony Pellegrino

 - Wedding Announcement (Enterprise and News, St Johnsville, NY, September 2, 1964)
  Miss Janet Fowler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Max Fowler 56 Monroe Street, St. Johnsville, was united in marriage in a pretty wedding ceremony to Anthony Pellegrino Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Pellegrino Sr., 1211 Blandina Street, Utica, at St. Patrick's Church Saturday, August 29 at 11 a.m. Rev. Thomas Quinn performed the Nuptial Mass.
  The church was decorated with white gladiolias and pom pons.
Organ music was played by Mrs. Louis Saivagni. Approximately 350 attended the cereniony.
  Maid of honor was Miss Bonnie Pellegrino, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Judy Van Dusen, sister of the bride, Miss Cheryl Dunton of Albany, Miss Janet Hook, Syracuse and Miss Donna Hayes, St. Johnsville, friends of the bride.
  Best man was Salvatore Morocco, Utica, friend of the groom.
  Ushers were Stephen Van Dusen, Robert Failing Jr., John Rickey and Jerry Trevari.
  Flower girls were Karin Fowler and Patricia Fowler, sisters of the bride and ring bearer was William Fowler, brother of the bride.
  The bride was given in amarriage by her father.
  She chose a sheath gown of silk organza over taffeta, fashioned with a scoop neckline, long tapered sleeves and a vertical panel of lace down the center. The detachable train was fastened at the waist with a tailored bow and terminated a chapel length. Her pillbox of matching fabric was caught to a three tier veil of French silk illusion scattered with lace motifs. The bride's bouquet was a cascade of miniature carnations and stephanotis with a white orchid center.
  The maid of honor and bridesmaids wore street length gowns of aqua embossed taffeta with scoop neckline, three-quarter sleeves and three-quarter bell overskirts. Thy carried Colonial bouquets of pink miniature carnations.
  The flower girls wore full-length gowns of white silk organza and carried baskets ol sweetheart roses and miniature carnations.
  The bride's mother chose a ballerina length gown of peau suede in peacock and a corsage of pink sweetheart roses.
  The groom's mother wore a street length dress in aqua with scoop neck and beaded bodice, and carried a corsage of yellow sewwthear roses.
  A reception was held for 350 wedding guests at the General Herkimer Hotel, Herkimer, after the wedding.
  The couple left for a honeymoon trip through the New England states.
   Upon their return, they will reside at 608 South Street, Utica.
  The bride is a graduate of St. Johnsville High School, Class of 1961, the Central City Business Institute, Syracuse. 1982, and is employed as a medical secretary at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse.
  The groom, a graduate of Proctor High, Utica, and of Utica College, is employed as an internal revenue agent in the Internal Reenue Department.

  The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. James Lawrence, 484 North Main Street, died at birth yesterday at Littauer Hospital.
  The survivors besides the parents are one sister, Lori Ann and one brother, James C. Lawrence at home; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Le Vere Lawrence and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brownell; great grandparents, J. Arthur Lawrence, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Arnold, Mrs. Eva Brownell and Mrs. Carolyn Waterman, all of Gloversville and several aunts and uncles.
  A service was held at the grave in Fern Dale Cemetery. Rev. Milton M. Lavery of the North Main Street Methodist Church officiated.

  Goodbread, David J. April 17, 2005 David J. Goodbread, 40, formerly of Sauquoit and currently residing in Poughkeepsie, passed away unexpectedly on April 17 in Poughkeepsie. David is survived by his son, Daniel Goodbread and Daniel's mom, Mary Steele, both of Tully, NY. Funeral services will be Friday at 12 noon at the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St., Sauquoit. Interment will be in Sauquoit Valley Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.

 - Obituary (The Leader - Herlad, Gloversville - Johnstown, NY, Monday, August 28, 1967)
  Robert Billington, 29, former Fort Plain resident, died Saturday afternoon in a head-on auto crash on Route 32, between Newburgh and Wallkill in Orange County.
  Elizabeth Germaine, 32, of Wallkill, otherwise not identified in the Associated Press dispatch, also died in the crash. The driver of the other car was also not identified.
  Mr. Billington was born in Amsterdam on May 11, 1938 a son of Harold and Madoline Fredericks Billington. He was graduated from the Fort Plain Central School and from the Albany School of Pharmacy, class of 1961.
  He had been employed as a pharmacist in Bob's Pharmacy in Poughkeepsie.
  He married Lois Cassedy at Newburgh on July 16, 1961, and she survives. The family had resided at Newburgh.
  He was a member of the Universalist Church of the Messiah at Fort Plain.
  Other survivors include two sons, Jeffrey and Richard of Newburgh; his mother, Mrs Harold Billington of Fort Plain, and one brother, Richard, of Nelliston.

  Mr. and Mrs. William F. Cassidy of Newburgh have announced the marriage of their daughter, Lois Jeanne, to Robert Alan Blllington, son of Mrs. Madoline Bllllngton of Fort Plain and the late Harold Billington.
   The couple were married July 16. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Auberger were attendants. Mr. and Mrs. Billington are residing with her parents in Newburgh.

  Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Nelson of Fort Plain announce the engagement of their daughter, Sandra Ann, to John V. Eckler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Eckler, also of Fort Plain.
  Miss Nelson, a graduate of Fort Plain Central School, is attending Mildred Elley Secretarial School, Albany.
  Her fiance was graduated from Canajoharie Central School, served four years in the U.S. Air Force and is employed by the Remington Arms, Illon.
  An August wedding is being planned.
 - Wedding Announcement (The Leader-Herald, Gloversville - Johnstown, NY, Tuesday, August 4, 1970)
  FORT PLAIN - Miss Sandra A. Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin E. Nelson, Fort Plain RD 2, was united in marriage to John V. Eckler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Eckler, Fort Plain RD 3 in a candlelight ceremony at 8 Friday night in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Stone Arabia.
  Rev. Theodore E. Hammer, pastor of that church, performed the double ring ceremony. The church was decorated with altar vases of white pompons and the pews were marked with white satin ribbons with candle holders. Gregory Hammer, Canajoharie, was the organist playing "Because," "I Love You Truly" and the wedding music. William Lamphere of Stone Arabia was the soloist.
  The bride, who was escorted to the altar by her father, was attired in a full length white gown of organza over taffeta. It had a high rise neckline adorned with a ring collar of scalloped white Venice lace interwoven with pink satin ribbon. She had a fitted bodice and long puffed sleeves. The entire bodice and sleeves were adorned with reembroidery of Venice lace.
  The soft A-line skirt had rows of lace and the skirt terminated into a cathedral-length train which was entirely edged with matching lace. From her open pill box, accented with Venice lace encrusted with pearls, fell a
bouffant veil. She carried a bouquet of white daisies with pink miniature roses and satin ribbon.
  Miss Cheryl Kneeskern, Nelliston, served as maid of honor. She wore a sheer dress of dotted swiss. It was floor length and had a short train. She had a jeweled neckline and full length sleeves with cuffs. The gown was designed with an underdress of taffeta.
  She wore a pictorial wide brim hat with matching hat band and carried a wicker basket of daisies dyed to match her gown.
  Miss Cindy Nelson, sister of the bride; Miss Mari Vosburgh, Fort Plain were bridesmaids. They wore gowns identical to the honor attendant in shades of yellow and light green respectively. They had similar headpieces and flowers.
  Gary Loadwick, Pittsburgh, Pa., was the best man. The ushers included Walter Haig, Canajoharie and Dean Diefendorf, Fort Plain.
  The mother of the bride selected a light blue silk shift style pebble crepe dress with a beaded ring collar and matched cuffs. She had a matching pillbox hat and wore a cluster of daisies. The mother of the bridegroom wore an A-line style pink pebble crepe dress with white daisy trim and long chiffon sleeves. She had a matching layered hat and wore a cluster of pink daisies.
  After the ceremony, a reception was held at the Mohawk Valley VFW home in Fort Plain with approximately 145 guests attending. After the reception, the couple left for a wedding trip to Canada. Upon their return,
they will reside at Fort Plain RD 2 (Route 10).
  The bride was graduated in 1969 from Fort Plain Central School and completed an executive secretarial course at the Mildred Elley Secretarial
School in Albany. The bridegroom was graduated in 1965 from Canajoharie Central School. He served four years in the Air Force and is employed at Remington Arms in Ilion,
  The bride was entertained at a surprise Jack and Jill shower given by Miss Cheryl Kneeskern, Miss Cindy Nelson and Miss Mari Vosburgh at the home of Miss Kneeskern.
