Marriage Notes for Keren Underwood Morey and David Whitman Hepworth

 - Wedding Announcement (Schenectady Gazette, NY, Monday, June 28, 1958)
  On Saturday afternoon in Glens Falls, Miss Keren Underwood Morey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Morey of Glens Falls, became the bride of David Whitman Hepworth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Archibald L: Hepworth of Easthampton, Mass.
  The 3 o'clock ceremony was performed in the Church of the Messiah by Rev. Schuyler Jenkins. The church was decorated with snapdragons, shasta daisies, carnations and candles.
   Escorted by her father, the bride wore an empire gown of candlelight taffeta trimmed with sequins and styled with a back panel of lace and a chapel train.
  Mrs. Burton Laux, matron of honor for her sister, wore a yellow gown of embroidered polished cotton with a flowered headband. She carried a spray of forget-me-nots, daisies and white snapdragons.
  Eugenia Laux, niece of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a white gown of embroidered organdy with a yellow floral wreath in her hair. She carried a basket of the same flowers carried by the matron of honor.
  Robert Laprade of Easthampton was best man. Ushers were Evan Johnston and Ronald Pepin, both of Easthampton, Brockett Morey of Corning and George Rapp of Toledo, Ohio.
  The wedding was followed by a buffet supper at the Top O' the World, after which the newlyweds left on a trip to Newagen, Me. They will make their home in this city.
  The bride, who is a teacher in North Colonie central schools, was graduated from Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia and will finish work on a master's degree this summer at the Oneonta College extension division in Albany.
  The bridegroom, who has served with the U.S. Army, is an alumnus of Williston Academy, Dartmouth College and Wharton Graduate School. He is associated with Arthur Andersen of Boston.

  Miss Wilson isa student at Johnstown High School and is enrolled in the food service program at the BOCES Tri-County Area Center for Occupational Education. Doxtader is a student at Dolgeville Central School.

  MOHAWK - Louis Jay Crewell, 57, of 74 Columbia St., a former UNIVAC employe died yesterday in a Utica hospital.
  He was born in West Winfield, son of Jay, and Maud Gage Crewell He married Florence
Fink in 1936 in West Edmonton.
  He had been employed by UNIVAC.
  Besides his wife he leaves a son Ronald Crewell, Mohawk, and a daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Sharon) Nudeau, Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Harry and Harold Crewell; both of West Winfield; a sister; Mrs. Annie Shipman, West Winfield; and a step-sister, Mrs. Catherine Clements, Sangerfield.
  The funeral is at 10 Monday from the Murphy Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mohawk
Cemetery.
 Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tonight and tomorrow.

  MOHAWK - Mrs Marjorie Evans, 56 of 9 N Washington St. died Monday, June 27 in the Mohawk Valley General Hospital in Ilion.
  She was born December 18, 1920 in Roaring Branch. Pennsylvania, the daughter of John and Bertha Helmer Fink She came to New York State in 1924, and resided in Elmira for 16 years, and the rest of her life in the Mohawk Valley area.
  She was employed for 9 years in Utica, and she and her late aunt, Delia Morse had a Family Care Home in Mohawk. She was married and divorced.
  She was a member of the Mohawk United Methodist Church.
  She leaves two sons. Gary Evans, and Peter Medina, at home; three brothers; John Fmk of Frankfort; Raymond Fink of Flint, Michigan, and Howard Fink of Ilion. four sisters; Mrs. Florence Crewell of Mohawk; Mrs Raymond 'Evelyn' Kimble of Erin, New York; Mrs, Wallace 'Pearl' Kimble of Powanda, Pennsylvania, and Mrs Regina Evans of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
  Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 30 at 10 a m from the Murphy Funeral Home, Mohawk, with the Rev. Lloyd Tanner of the Mohawk United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Mountainview Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p m Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p m Wednesday at the funeral home.

  MOHAWK - John (Shorty) Evans Sr., 57, 19 Henry St, died yesterday in Herkimer Memorial Hospital.
  He was born in Albany, son of John and Virginia Jewell Noonan.
  He married Regina Fink in 1953 in Oneonta.
  He was employed by Corning Glass Company, and retired five years ago due to ill health.
  Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Mary Evans, and two sons John Jr., and Dennis, all at home; and a brother, Manes, Oneonta.
  The funeral will be at 2 Monday from the Murphy Funeral Home. Burial will be this spring.

  ILION-Howard D. “Toby” Fink age 72 of Pleasant Avenue passed away peacefully on Thursday morning September 22, 2011 in his home after a short illness.
  He was born on March 13, 1939 in the town of Warren, son of the late John D. and Bertha Helmer Fink. A lifelong area resident he was raised in Ilion and graduated from Ilion High School with the class of “1959”. Toby was blessed when he met a young lady by the name of Mary Frescatore at a friend’s wedding. On November 8, 1963 they were united in marriage in the First Baptist Church, Ilion and in 1971 they moved from Frankfort to Ilion, where they have resided since. For thirty-four years Mr. Fink worked as an assembler for the Remington Arms Company in Ilion. He retired in 1997.
  Toby had a strong belief in God and was a member of the Oak Ridge Free Methodist Church in Herkimer. In his leisure time he was a chess player, an avid reader and found a special interest in reading old history books and his bible. He was an accomplished fly fisherman and particularly enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren. Mr. Fink will always be remembered as a loving, caring and wise gentleman. He was a strong willed man and any conversation with him was straight and to the point, but you always felt a warmth and friendship whenever you were with him. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family, especially his cherished grandchildren and great grandchild.
  Surviving him are his devoted wife of forty-seven years Mary, a daughter, Mary Cross of Little Falls, one brother, Raymond Fink of Flint, MI, a sister Pearl Kimble of Rome, five grandchildren, Rachael Cross and Michael Cross both of Utica, Kayla Cross, Andrew Cross and Stephen Cross all of Little Falls, one great-granddaughter, JaeLynn Brown of Utica, Several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend Nancy Burton. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his son Roy Scott Vernum, a brother, John “Roy” Fink, five sisters’ Florence Crewell, Regina Evans, Marjorie Evans, Alice Griffin and Evelyn Kimble.
   The family will be present to receive relatives and friends in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer on Saturday morning from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, with a funeral service to begin at 11:00am. The Reverend Christopher Schumske, pastor of the Oak Ridge Free Methodist Church, Herkimer will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak View Cemetery, Frankfort.
  Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Hospice Palliative Care Inc. or the Little Falls Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

  William Helmer, 27, of 334 Long Branch Rd. was fatally injured Tuesday when a driverless tractor-trailer pinned him against another trailer.
  Mr Helmer was a native of Taunton and had lived in Solvay for 4 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Belle Isle Methodist Church.
  He is survived by his wife, Mrs Beverly Sevier Helmer, a daughter, Barbara Jane; his parents, Mr and Mrs Edward H. Helmer of Howlett Hill; and a brother Edward H. Helmer, Jr. of Marcellus.
  Funeral arrangements by the Norris Funeral Home, Marcellus, are incomplete pending contacting Mr Helmer's parents who are on a trip in the midwest.

A reception followed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Helmer Sr., at Hewlett Hill. The young couple are residing at Glen Burnle, Maryland, where Pvt. Helmer is with the army at Fort Meade.
