Marriage Notes for Merton Alexander Mott and Marlene Hansen

 - Wedding Announcement (Santa Ynez Valley News, Solvang, CA, Friday, August 13, 1954)
   The Little Church of the West, Nevada's famous Chapel on the Desert at Las Vegas, was the setting for the marriage of Anne Marlene Hansen of Hollywood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Svend Hansen of Solvang, to Merton Alexander Mott of Las Vegas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Mott of Oneida, N.Y.
   Miss Hansen was given in marriage by her father. The Rev. Walter W. Hanne of the First Presbyterian Church, officiated.
  The bride was attired in a white lace dress of street length, princess style with a boat neck and elbow length sleeves. Her veil of nylon net was shoulder length and was attached to a tiny bonnet of orange blossoms studded with seed pearls. She wore a white pearl necklace and earrings and carried a single white orchid on a white Bible with satin ribbon streamers.
  The maid of honor, Paula Drake Fernald, roommate of the bride, was attired in a dress of blue tissue nylon, with white accessories and matching halo hat. Her corsage was of yellow rosebuds.
  Besides the traditional wedding marches, the organist played "All the Things You Are" and "Jeg Elsker Dig". A tape recording was made of the ceremony and presented to the bride.
  The bride's mother was attired in a navy faille coat dress with pink and gray accessories. She had a corsage of pink rosebuds.
  Jack Carlton, brother of the bride was the best man.
  The church was decorated with white chrysanthemums and white candles.
  A champagne party was held after the ceremony at the Last Frontier Hotel, after which the wedding dinner was held at the Sahara Club.
   Present at the wedding were Mrs. Jack Carlton of Lakewood, Miss Amy Harrington and Mrs. Charlotte Sidenspinner, friends of the bride from Hollywood.
   The bride is a graduate of the Santa Ynez Valley Union High School. She attended the Christine Mallon School for Models in Hollywood, Calif, previous to her marriage.
  The groom is draftsman and assistant engineer for the Hawkins-Pozzo Company of Las Vegas. He attended grammar and high schools at Oneida, New York, Arthur University at New York City, and served with the Marines in the South Pacific.
