  WALTER PAUL SCHINDEL, 79, of Greenville, formerly of Spencerville, died at 8:45 a.m. Dec. 26, 2001, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton.
  He was born Feb. 16,1922, in Spencerville to Walter C. and Frieda N. Neitermayer Schindel, who preceded him in death. On Sept. 21, 1952, he married Marjorie Kuck, who survives in Greenville.
  Mr. Schindel retired as a dairy farmer, having farmed in Darke, Shelby, Allen and Auglaize counties. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War 11.
  Survivors also include a son, Kevin (Cindy) Schindel of Pleasmit Hill; three daughters, Marcia Schindel of Greenville, Sheryl (Gerald) Simpson of Englewood and Robyn (Kevin) Miller of Bellefontaine, two brothers, William Schindel of Piqua and Tom Schindel of Canton, Mich.; six grandchildren, Lindsey Schindel, Ryan Simpson, Ashley Schindel, Holli Tilton, Jennifer Miller and Christian Miller; and several nephews and nieces.
  Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville. The Rev. Sam Hoeflich will officiate. Burial will be in Royal Oak Memorial Gardens, Brookville, with military rites by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.
  Friends may call from noon until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.  
   Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Darke County.

  BARBARA A. McCLAIN, 61, died at 1:22 a.m. Dec. 7, 1993, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born Feb. 28, 1932, in Spencerville, to Ray and Alta Whyman Neitermayer. In 1966, she married Ralph McClain, who died in February 1981.
  Mrs. McClain was secretary at Joy Electric for many years and most recently was a saleswoman at JC Penney. She was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge Auxiliary 54 and attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Elida.
  Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Kim A.) Crates of Lima; four stepchildren, Roger McClain, Joyce VanHorn, Damon McClain and Shawn McClain, all of Lima; and four grandchildren and several step and step great-grandchildren.
  Services will begin at 8 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Eric McGlade will officiate. Burial of the remains will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at the family's convenience.
  Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home,

  LEONA M. NUNGESTER, 78, died at 12:35 p.m. Sept. 19, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center, following an extended illness.
  She was born June 19, 1928, in Hume to Leroy and Farald C. Rostorfer Rider, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 17, 1946, she married Paul E. Nungester, who died Dec. 11, 2001. Mrs. Nungester was a homemaker. She was a 60-year member of Friends Church, Spencerville, and its Home Missions. She was a 1946 graduate of Spencerville High School. She enjoyed being with her family and friends.
  Survivors include a son, William L. "Bill" (Georgiann) Nungester of Spencerville; three grandchildren, David P. (Chris) Blockberger of Coldwater, Denise L. (Larry) Lindeman of Delphos and William A. "Andy" Nungester of Lima; five great-grandchildren; a brother, John (JoAnn) Rider of Spencerville; and a sister, Eva L. (Homer) Coffman of Edgerton. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Ann Blockberger.
  Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville. The Rev. Gene Moser will officiate. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

  Funeral Services Held Friday For Paul Nungester, 78
  Funeral Services for Paul E. Nungester of Spencerville were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home. The Rev. Rod Abram officiated and burial was in Spencerville Cemetery, with military grave site rites. Mr. Nungester died at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at Roselawn Manor. He was born June 27, 1923 in Lima, a son of William L. and Sylvia Choloe Antrim Nungester. He was raised by his stepmother Cleo Williams Nungester. On August 17, 1947, he was married to Leona M. Rider, who survives.
  He is also survived by a son, William 'Bill' (Georgiann) Nungester of Spencerville; three grandchildren; one great grandson; a brother, Lester V. (Martha) Seamer and Mary (Bill) Jarman, both of Lima; and a son in law, David R. Blockberger of Delphos. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Ann Blockberger, and a brother, Gilbert Nungester.
  Mr. Nungester was a member of the Friends Church, Spencerville, where he served as treasurer, Sunday School superintendent and adult class teacher. He was retired as a chief operator of BP Chemicals, Lima, and also worked as a salesman with Electrolux Sweepers and BMA Insurance Co.
  A World War II veteran, he served in the Army Air Corps in Europe, China and India. he was a life member of Bowersock Bros. VFW Post 6772.
  Preferred memorials are to Friends Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
