  ST. CLAIR - Pauline R. Squires, 59, of 5299 Gratiot Highway, died unexpectedly today in Port Huron Hospital.
  She was born Feb. 22, 1917, in Spencerville, Ohio, and had lived in St. Clair for 38 years.
  Mrs. Squires attended schools in Ohio.
  She married Wilbur E. Squires April 25, 1933.
  She is survived by her husband; two sons, Wilbur M. Squires, Phoenix, Ariz., and Clayton Smith, Mrysville; Three daughters, Mrs. Donald C.   Wilbur E. Squires, 83, died -Tuesday, Jan. 15, 1991, in Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
  He was born May 10, 1907, in Mercer County, Ohio and was a longtime area resident. His first wife, Pauline R., died Nov. 16, 1976. He married Dolores Hamrick March 2, 1980.
   Mr. Squires was a shift supervisor for the Detroit Edison Co.'s Marysville Power Plant prior to his retirement. He owned and operated the Norworth Apartments for more than 30 years.
  He is survived by his wife, Dolores; children and their spouses, Wilbur and Bessie Squires of Phoenix, Ariz., Judy and Donald Steele and Clayton and Betty Jo Smith, all of Marysville, Bonnie and Roger Craig of Yale and Patricia and Darrill Phillips of Elkhorn, Neb.; three sisters, Opal Bischoff and Mary Page, both of Lorraine, Ohio, and Alma Davis of Rockford, Ohio; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Virginia Squires of Coldwater; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lyle and Carolyn Moore of Salem, Mo.
  Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Karrer-Simpson-Crawford Funeral Home. The Rev. Larry E. Schwark, pastor of the First Baptist Church in St. Clair, will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.

  Loyd Russel Simpson, 84, 315 E. Market St., Mendon, died at 12:37 p.m May 13, 2006, at Colonial Nursing Center, Rockford.
  He was born Oct. 18, 1921, in Spencerville, to Russell Ambrose and Millie Mae Bowers Simpson. On Nov. 25, 1943, he married Dora K. Krick, who died Nov. 3, 1996.
  Survivors are two daughters, Sharon (Jim) Hamilton, Mendon, and Vickie (Danny) Trisel, Van Wert; a sister, Virginia (Jake) Webb, Mendon; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
  Deceased are three brothers, Harold, Homer and Maurice Simpson; and two sisters, Addie Schwartz and Pauline Squires.
  He was a retired farmer and attended the First Church of God, Mendon, and The Lord's Church, Celina.
  Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Mendon, the Revs. Dean Bruce and Randy Christian officiating. Burial is at the Mendon Cemetery. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

   DORA K. SIMPSON, 71, died at 6:43 a.m, Nov. 3, 1996, at Joint Township Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
   She was born on Feb. 3, 1923, near Ohio City to Henry W. and Ellen Murray Krick Sr. On Nov. 5, 1943, she married Loyd R. Simpson, who survives.
   Mrs. Simpson retired after 31 years as head cook at Mendon Union andParkway local schools. She was a member of The Lord's Church, Celina, and was a former treasurer of the church. She was president of the Mendon Civic Club, chairman of Mendon's Combined Fund Charity Drive, and was an avid bowler.
   Survivors include two daughters Sharon (Jim) Hamilton of Mendon and Vickie (Danny) Triskel of Van Wert; four brothers, Henry J. Krick Jr. of Mendon, Eugene Krick of Spencerville, and Arthur Krick and Robert Krick, both of Celina; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by a sister, Leona Krick.
   Services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at W.H. Dick and Sons Funeral Home, Mendon. The Revs. Randy Christian and Dean Bruce will officiate. Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery.
   Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

  Virginia, 91, passed away at 12:00 p.m., at her home.
  She was the daughter of Russel and Millie (Bowers) Simpson. On Feb 3, 1943, she married Ross 'Jake' Webb, who surivies in Mendon.
  Also surviving are are two sons: Daniel (Lillie) and Gary, both Mendon; a daughter, Rox Ann (Michael) Ringer, Coldwater, MI; and seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
  Deceased are four brothers: Harold, Homer, Loyd, and Maurice; and two sisters: Addie Schwartz and Pauline Squires.
  A devoted wife and homemaker, she worked her entire life on the family farm. She will be deeply missed by all.
  Funeral services will be at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, with Rev. Donald Clinger officiating. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery, Mendon.

  Surviving are two sons: Daniel (Lillie) and Gary, both Mendon; a daughter, Rox Ann (Michael) Ringer, Coldwater, MI; two sisters: Eileen Brown, Mendon, and Maxine Chamberlain, Sandusky; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
  Deceased are two brothers: Orville and one linked below; four sisters: three linked below and Wilma Webb.
  A 1938 graduate of Mendon High School, Mendon, he retired after working his entire life as a farmer. His family meant the world to him, especially his grandchildren and he will be deeply missed by all.

  SPENCERVILLE - Services will be at 2 pm Saturday at the Thomas E Bayliff Funeral Home Spencerville, for John W Crider, 66. He died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Fla., following an apparent heart attack.
  He was born March 30, 1918, in Van Wert County, the son of Russell M. and Ethel M. Simpson Crider. On Feb 9, 1938, he married Faye Neal who survives.
  Mr Crider was a former independent insurance salesperson in Spencerville and had been a farmer. He was also a tool and die maker at Ohio Steel. He served in the US Army during World War II. He was a member of Harry J. Reynolds Post 191, American Legion and a former member of the Spencerville Lions Club.
  Survivors also include two sons, Terry D. Crider of Wapakoneta and Roger M. Crider of Lima; two daughters, Mrs Jack (Linda) Bowsher of Elida and Mrs David (Connie) Hubble of Tucson, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother Gail E. Crider of Elida.
  Rev. Dr. Hugh W. Bowland and Rev. Marvin Schamaun will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery.
  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

 ARRETTA FAYE CRIDER, 81, died at 6:27 am July 28,2000 at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville.
  She was born April 13, 1919, in Van Wert to Harry A. and Phoebe Boroff Neal. On Feb. 9. 1937 she married John W Crider, who died April 25,1984.
  Mrs. Crider had been an antique dealer for 60 years. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church ,Spencerville, and its Joy Circle. She was a charter member of the American Milk Glass Collectors Society. She was a graduate Of Lima South. High School. Survivors include two sons Terry D. (Donna) Crider and Roger M. (Shirley) Crider, both of Wapakoneta; two daughters, Linda C. (Jack) Bowsher of Elida and Connie K. Hubble of Tucson Ariz.; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
  She was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Neal; and a grandchild.
  Services will begin at 2 P.m. Monday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville. The Rev. Ron Hennen will officiate. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery.

  GAIL E. CRIDER, 81, died at 4:42 a.m. Jan. 27, 2005, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville.
  He was born Nov. 3, 1923, in Van Wert County to Russell and Ethel Simpson Crider, who preceded him in death. On July 19, 1945, he married Donna Belle Irvin, who survives in Elida. Mr. Crider was a farmer and had retired as a machinist from Ohio Steel Foundry/Teledyne Ohio Steel. He was a member of Gomer United Church of Christ, Gomer. He was a member of the Allen County Farm Bureau. He attended Spencerville High School and the Marsh Foundation, Van Wert, where he studied machine mechanics. He was an adviser for the Allen County Junior Horsemen 4-H Club and was active with the Cub Scouts. He was an Army veteran, serving from June 12, 1943, to Nov. 9, 1945.
  Survivors also include a son, Irvin (Shirley) Crider of Elida; two grandsons, Dr. Anthony (Dana) Crider of Gibsonville, N.C., and Aaron (Lori) Crider of Elida; and three great-grandchildren, Shelby Crider, Maxwell Crider and Zoe Crider.
  He was preceded in death by a brother, John Crider.
  Graveside services will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday in Pike Run Cemetery, Gomer, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. The Rev. Brian Knoderer will officiate.

  She was the daughter of Willis and Norma (Gamble) Irvin. On Jul 19, 1945, she married Gail Crider, who preceded her in death.
  Surviving are a son, Irvin (Shirley), Elida; a sister, Marjean Long, Elida; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
  Living her entire life on the farm where she was born, she loved cooking and spending time with her son and grandchildren.

  MORENCI: Dortheda Beach, 82, of Morenci, Mich., passed away Sept. 2, 2004, at home under the loving care of Hospice of Lenawee.
  She was born July 6, 1922, in Palmyra, Mich., the daughter of Leonard R. and Bertha J. (Simpson) Bice. On Dec. 22, 1939, she married William Beach. He preceded her in death.
  Dortheda was a faithful member of the Jasper Bible Church. She belonged to Adrian Post 275 Ladies Auxiliary and was a life member of the Adrian DAV Chapter 20. She worked at Stubnitz-Greene for more than 20 years.
  Dortheda is survived by her children, Patricia (Roger) Emmons, Jerry (Loraine) Beach, Diane (Charles) Schmucker, Danny (Dorothy) Beach, Linda (Mike) Peters and Nicholas (Rebekah) Beach; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Lloyd (Donna) Bice, John (Angel) Bice and Jerry (Lillian) Bice; one sister, Eleanor Fedder; and several nieces and nephews.
  She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
  Funeral Services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, with the Rev. Bruce Jewett officiating. Interment will follow in Ridgeville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday at the Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.

  Ira Dilsaver, 78, 935 Cleveland Ave., St. Marys, died at 5:46 a.m. Oct. 14, 2002, following a sudden illness.
  He was born March 18, 1924, in Allen County, to Charles and Della (Simpson) Dilsaver. On May 22, 1943, he married Lodean Davis and she survives.
  Also surviving are two sons and their wives, Wayne and Patricia and Darrell and Rebecca, all of St. Marys; two daughters, Karen Geise, Sidney, and Lisa Fairchild, Portland, Ore.; a brother, Floyd of Botkins; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. A son, Steven Joseph, died in infancy.
  He was a retired farmer and maintenance man at Mersman Brothers Inc., Celina. Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Ron Spurgeon officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
  Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

   Lodean Dilsaver, 85, formerly of 935 Cleveland Ave., St. Marys, died at 10:58 a.m. April 14, 2007, at her daughter's residence in Fort Loramie.
   She was born June 4, 1921, in Allen County, to Harold and Nellie Worrell Davis. On May 22, 1943, she married Ira Dilsaver, who died Oct. 14, 2001.
   Surviving are two sons, Wayne and Darrell (Rebecca) all of St. Marys; two daughters, Karen (Kenneth) Geise, Fort Loramie, and Lisa Fairchild, Hamilton; a sister, Eileen (Ed) Crocker, St. Marys; a brother-in-law, Floyd, Botkins; a sister-in-law, Glenna Davis, St. Marys; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are an infant son, Steven J.; two brothers, Jesse and Francis Davis; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia.
   She retired from the former Mersman Furniture Company, Celina, and was a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church, St. Marys. She was a 1939 graduate of Waynefield High School.
   Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Harold Liess officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
