  Frank M. Stepleton, 84, of Carlsbad died Monday (Sept. 22, 1997). Memorial graveside service is pending in Durango, Colo. Survivors include his wife, May; his sons, Thomas J. Stepleton, Frank D. Stepleton and John Michael Stepleton; two daughters, Mary Margaret Brady and Ethel Ann "Judy" Goodnow; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.   Carl L. Covey, age 83, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2003. Carl is survived by his son, Richard Covey and his wife, Diane of Arizona, daughters, Ellen Covey and her companion, Narciso Duran of Albuquerque, Jane Covey of Albuquerque of Albuquerque, grandchildren, Colleen, Jennifer, Laura and parter, Tieshia, Shannon, Samantha, Rochelle, Theresa, Chris, Erika, Ashley and Rebecca and great-grandson, Nicholas. Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Covey on September 12, 1998. Carl was born in Lima, Ohio. Carl served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. Upon honorable discharge, he attended Ohio State University where he obtained his degree in accounting. Carl married Laura Robinson on October 20, 1950 and they resided in Ohio and Wisconsin before moving to Rio Rancho, NM in 1971. Carl worked for Boyd Engineering until his retirement. After retiring they enjoyed traveling the world and they campground hosted at several state and national parks. Carl was a beloved father and grandfather, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be on Monday, April 14, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Services will be head at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE on Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. with Chaplain Lemuel Boyles, officating. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Laura Covey, Tieshia Perea, Narciso Duran, Ken Kendall, Martin Kalwasinksi and Chris Covey.

Mrs. Covey was a veteran of World War II, having served as a nurse in the United States Army. Laura was a retired nurse anesthetist with Presbyterian Hospital.   THREE FORKS - Memorial services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the K&L Mortuary in Three Forks for Valorie V. Wilcox, 71, a Three Forks native and long time resident who died Friday in a fire at her home outside town.
  The Revs. Jan Witman and Ron Lang will officiate.
  Mrs. Wilcox was born April 9, 1916 to Melville and Ethel (Wade) DeCovey and attended school in Three Forks and Deer Lodge.
  She married George R. Wilcox Dec 18, 1950 in Butte and for the past 37 years they ranched on the lower Madison River.
  She was a member of the Tree Forks Rebekah Lodge 74, Three Forks Historical Society, Three Forks and Manhattan Senior Citizens, Lady Bug Hobby club, and a former member of the Madison Valley Women's Club. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and crafts.
  Survivors include her husband; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Linda wilcox of Three Forks and Barry and Peggy Wilcox of Havre; daughters and sons-in-law, Lorna and Darby Parker of Willow Creek and Marjorie and James Rogers of Colstrip; a stepdaughter, Mary Reed of Idaho; stepmother Gladys Gillen of Mountain View, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Gerald Andrew Ruffener

  Gerald A. Ruffener, 82 of rural Bucyrus passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at home. Gerald was born November 23, 1937 in Bucyrus to the late A.A. "Wishey" and Thelma (Grauer) Ruffener. He was married June 27, 1958 to Sharon (Rider) Ruffener who survives. He was also preceded in death by brother Glen and sister Emma Jane. In addition to his wife, Gerald is survived by children Bradley (Mary) Ruffener of Bucyrus; Lesley (Ned) Shryock of Sunbury; and Laura (Jeff) Rall of Bucyrus; 9 grandchildren, Zach (Kristen Seibold), Nick (Kaitlyn), Hannah (Santos Chaparro), Amber (Jesse) Groves, Kyle (Bethany) Seth, Corrina, Callie, and Katie; 2 great grandchildren Emmett and Colton; and sister-in-law Martha Huyser of Florida.
  Gerald graduated from Mt. Zion in 1955. He retired from Whirlpool after 37 years and following retirement worked at Steiger Pre-Cast. Gerald loved farming and raising cattle. He was a very active volunteer for the Wynford School District serving as President of the School Board and Athletic Boosters. Gerald was also active with the Wynford Band Boosters. He attended nearly all of the sporting events for his children and grandchildren. Gerald was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
  Funeral Services will be held in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Mike Corwin officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-4 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Kindred Hospice of Marion, or the charity of your choice.

   ROBERT D. “BOB” KOHLER 79 of Hobe Sound, Fla., formerly of Cridersville, died Feb. 9, 2002, at Martin Memorial Hospital, South Stuart, Fla.
  He was born June 22, 1922 in Wapakoneta to Charles and Etta Rader Kohler, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 24, 1943, he married Virginia M. Decker, formerly of Cridersville, who survives.
  Mr Kohler retired in 1994. He had been owner of Decker’s Dairy and moved to Toledo in 1967 to become co-owner of The Toledo Stone Co. He was a member of St Christopher Catholic Church, Hobe Sound, Fla. He was a founding member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Lima, and a member of Gesu Catholic Church, Toledo. He was a member of Lost Lake Countiy Club, Hobe Sound, Fla. and American Legion Post 91. He was a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He was a graduate of St Rose High School, Lima. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II serving as a B-26 pilot with the 9th Air Force and was wounded in combat. He had live[ed] in Florida for the last eight years.
  Survivors also include a son John (Nancy) Kohler of Bay Harbor, Mich.; a daughter Becky Kohler of Stuart, Fla.; two brothers, Richard (Wendy) Kohler of Olmsted Falls and James (Vicki) Kohler of Lima; a sister Mary Kohler (Kenneth) Bisdorf of Rochester Hills, Mich.; a sister-in-law Rosann Decker of New Hope, Minn.; three grandchildren Christopher (Aliya) Kohler of Michigan, Andi Kohler of Washington and Cara Kohler of Florida; a great-grandson Daniel Kohler; and 12 nephews and nieces.
  He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Kohler (Joseph) Foltz; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Decker.
   Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St Charles Catholic Church, Lima. The Revs. David Ross and Paul Woefle will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275.
  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
  Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. March 2, 2002, at St Christopher Catholic Church, Hobe Sound, Fla.

  Joan, 80, Lima, died at St. Rita's Medical Center.
  She was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Edna Naomi (Decker) Croft. On Jan 14, 1956, she married Thomas Paul Haines, who preceded her in death.
  Surviving are a daughter, Ann (Mike) Lawrence, Wapakoneta; a brother, Bill (Karen), Lima; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
  A member of First Evangelical and Reformed Church of Lima, she had worked in the nursery for decades. She had been a dental assistant for Drs. Webb, Kesler and Clemens. She had also worked in the cafeteria for Lima City Schools and had volunteered with Wapakoneta Elementary Schools. She received a volunteer award from Wapakoneta Education Association: 2014 Friend of Education. She also volunteered with the Lima Cup Program and for Johnny Appleseed Parks. She enjoyed going to the Kewpee and walking the mall daily.
  Services will be at First Evangelical and Reformed Church, with Pastor Ed Rinehart officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima.

  Thomas, 76, died in his home.
  He was born to William and Minnie (Hoff) Haines. On Jan. 14, 1956, he married Joan Croft, who survives.
  Also surviving are a daughter, Ann (Michael) Lawrence, Wapakoneta; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Matthew and Sarah Lawrence, Wapakoneta; a brother, William, Sandusky, and a brother-in-law, William (Karen) Croft, Lima.
  He retired from BP Chemical/Vistron, where he had been an operator and maintenance worker. He served in the U.S. Airforce during the Korean Era and was a member of the First Evangelical and Reformed Church, as well as a life-long member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
  Funeral services at the Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville, with the Rev. Ed Rinehart officiating.

  He was the son of Benjamin Franklin and Edna Naomi (Decker) Croft. On Sep 25, 1970, he married Karen K. Blair, who survives in Lima.
  Also surviving are two daughters: Kim King and Kari Masters, both Lima; a brother-in-law, Greg Blair, Lima; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
  Deceased are a sister linked below; and a granddaughter, Mariah Masters.
  Retired from Ford Lima Engine Plant after 34 years, he had also served in the Marine Corp Reserve for seven years. He maintained his love of motorcycles, motorcycle racing, sprint cars, drag racing, trap and target shooting and shooting pool, bowling, boating, fishing and golfing. When he traveled across the country he never missed a chance to take the scenic route. He truly enjoyed life. He was always known as "Lima Bill" to all of his motorcycle friends. He was a member of UAW 1219 and Lima Eagles aerie 370, YMCA and the NRA.
  Services will be at Bayliff and Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, with Pastor Tim Benjamin officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

  Frances Marie Simpson, 94, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 9, 2008 in Tulsa, OK. She was born on September 15, 1914 in Ohio to James and Edith Cole. In 1959 she moved to Phoenix. In 2007 she moved to Tulsa, OK to be with her son Michael and wife Carolyn. She was preceded in death by husband Harold and son Bill. She leaves two sons; Michael and Richard Simpson, 3 grandchildren; Penny Fulcher, Brian Simpson and Michael Jr. Simpson and 7 great grandchildren. Her extended family in Oklahoma includes 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren. Frances was a very devoted daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She loved and took pleasure in the simple things in life and will be remembered for her sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, December 17th from 5-7 pm followed by a funeral on Thursday, December 18th at 12:00 Noon. Both will be held at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale

  The attendants of the bride and groom were Miss Frances Sites and Ray Miller.
  The bride wore a blue gown with white accessories while the brides maid wore a yellow gown with white accessories.
  After the solemn vows were taken the party then returned to the home of the bride's parents where a three course dinner was served to Rev. W. O. Johnson, Homer and Pauline Simpson, Mary Bienz, Martha Cole, Ray Miller, Frances Sites. Mr. and Mrs. James Cole, Mary Maurer, John Cole and the bride and groom.
  The happy couple will make their future home on a farm in the Spencerville community.

  SPENCERVILLE - Services will be at 2 pm Monday at Thomas E Bayliff Funeral Home for Chester H.H. Schwartz, 76, of here. He died Wednesday afternoon at his residence.
  He was born Aug. 29, 1910 near Spencerville, the son of Henry and Ida Rempfer Schwartz. On Sept. 30, 1931, he married Addie M. Simpson who died Jan. 19, 1981.
  Mr Schwartz owned and operated Schwartz Sawmill for 32 years. He was a farmer and operated Tri County Gun Club which involved trap shooting on his farm.
  Survivors include five sons Joseph Schwartz of Vaughnsville, Bernard Schwartz and Raymond Schwartz both of Wapakoneta, Gerald Schwartz of De Beque, Colo., Robert Schwartz of Celina;  a daughter Mrs. Vernon (Linda) Bruse of Venedocia; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren a brother, Clarence Schwartz of Spencerville; and a sister Mrs. Carl (Mary) Stemen of Spencerville.
  Rev Jack G Hamrick will officiate. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery.

The happy young couple motored to St. Marys and were united in matrriage by Rev. Robt. Allbaugh, former pastor of the Spencerville Baptist church, the bride was very attractive in a pale green chiffon gown with accessories to match.
  A 6 o'clock wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents to immediate relatives and friends.
  Later in the evening friends gathered to send the newly wedded couple on their journey of life together with an olf fashoned belling.
  Mr. and Mrs. Chester Schwartz will make their home on the Britton-Colt farm.

   ST. HENRY — Homer F. Simpson, 62, 2745 State Route 118, was dead on arrival Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. at Coldwater Community Hospital. Death was attributed to an apparent heart attack.
  He was born Oct. 10, 1915, in Van Wert County, son of Russell and Millie (Bowers) Simpson.
  On July 6, 1940, he and the former Lagora Schoenlein were married. She survives in Coldwater.
  Other survivors include a son Rick, at home; two sisters Addie Schwartz of Spencerville and Mrs. Ross (Virginia) Webb of Mendon; two brothers Lloyd and Maurice both of Mendon.
  A brother and a sister are deceased.
  Mr Simpson was a member of the St Henry Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign wars of Celina, and was a World War II Army veteran. He was a car salesman at Denny Franks Lincoln-Mercury Inc.
  Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev Raymond Bauer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
  Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St Hemy Friday from 2 to 9 p.m.
