Elaine B. (Walker) Cook, age 74, of Mounds View, Minn., formerly of Ellsworth, Wis., died Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at Unity Hospital, Fridley, Minn.
Elaine was born Sept. 25, 1932, in Hector, Minn., to Alvin and Lois Walker. She grew up and went to school in St. Paul Park, Minn.
She married Richard Cook in June of 1953. They moved to Ellsworth, Wis. in 1958 and raised her family of six children. She divorced in the early 1980s and sold the family home and moved to Twin Cities metro area in the late 1980s. She retired from Presbyterian Homes in 1997. She was living in Mounds View when she suffered a severe stroke on May 9, 2006, and had been recuperating at St. Anthony Health Care, Anthony, Minn.
Elaine is survived by: brother, Bruce (Joyce) Walker, North Branch, Minn.; her six children, Stephen (Teresa) of Olathe, Kan., Joanne Close (rick) of St. Paul, Minn., Deborah (Jay) Kirihara of St. Louis Park, Minn., Kevin of Minneapolis, Minn., Bruce of Arcadia, Wis., and Karen of Mankato, Minn.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
Preceded in death by: her parents and grandparents; sister Beverly; former husband; and infant son, Richard Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial was 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at St. William's Catholic Church, 6120 NE 5th St., Fridley. following the church luncheon, 2:30 p.m. interment, at Newport Cemetery, Newport, Minn.

Walkowicz of 208 Conkey Ave. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Walkowicz; two daughters, Wanda and Rita Marie; his mother, Mrs. Carl (Wanda) Kabetac; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Eleanor) Ridley of Phelps, New York , Mrs. Neil (Virginia) Soules; two brothers, Walter Walkowicz of Rochester and Edward McManus of Phelps, New York; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Richard L. Feierski Funeral Home, 1005 Hudson Ave., 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, June 6, 1967, at 9 from the funeral home and 9:30 at St. Stanislaus Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
