  Mrs. Denita Ann “Dee” Haywood, 79 of Berwick, formerly of rural Galesburg and Abingdon, passed away at 6:08 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
  She was born July 18, 1939 in Galesburg, the daughter of Charles F. and Margaret Ann (Rose) Devlin. She married Donald R. “Don” Haywood on March 7, 1958 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
  Dee is survived by her children, Donald B. (and Erica) Haywood of Abingdon, Kathy (and Dan) Huchtmeier of Yankton, South Dakota and Kim (and Bryan) Pierce of Berwick; her grandchildren, Joshua (and Sara) Pierce, Lyndee (and KC) Harding, Jacob (and Randi) Pierce, Ethan Haywood, Kendrick Haywood and Matthew Haywood; her great-grandchildren, Emma, Brylee, Dee, Ellody, Grayson and Evelyn; her brother, Larry (and Lynne) Devlin of Gerlaw; her sister, Sheila (and Roy) Pressley of Alexis; and a special niece, Lisa (and Kevin) Eckley.
  She graduated from Alexis High School in 1956. She worked in the X-Ray Department at Cottage Hospital. She also worked at OMC in Galesburg and later transferred to Evinrude in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Upon her return to Galesburg, she worked at Admiral/Maytag from where she retired from. She later worked as a waitress at Abbe Lanes Restaurant. She enjoyed playing a good game of Pitch and working jigsaw puzzles. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Illini basketball fan. She was a member of the Drag Racing Association of Women.
  Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel followed by her funeral at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery near North Henderson.
