William Preble, aged 52 years, one of the highly respected citizens of this village entered into rest Tuesday, at his late home on Second avenue, after an illness lasting several weeks. Pneumonia, a disease which he contracted three times before this last attack was the cause of his death. His condition had been critical for one week prior to his death so the end came not entirely unexpected. Mr. Preble came to Frankfort at the time of the location of the West Shore shops here, over 20 years ago, and for many years he was a passenger engineer on that road. About 23 years ago he married Miss Emma Myers of this place, who died several years ago, leaving on daughter, Mae. About two years ago Mr. Preble was married again to Mrs. Dumont of Boston. He was a man of sterling worth, well known. He was one of Frankfort's best citizens and his death is a great loss to this community. Besides his wife and daughter, he leaves surviving two brothers, Albion and Byron of Pleasantville, N. J., and two sisters, Mrs. Susan Jones and Mrs Elizabeth Friend of Sedgewick, Me.
The funeral was held from his late home Thursday afternoon. Rev. Thos. E. Jepson. pastor of the Baptist church at Herkimer preached the sermon. The bearers were Charles Nipe, Charles Rich, T. P. Parker, William Wayne, A. L. Ashley and Bert Ballda. The Masons had charge of the services at the cemetery.

Whltesboro — Mrs. Joseph H. Dumont, 72, died at her home at 2 Palmer Ave., here yesterday after an illness of two years.
Lelia May Preble was born in Syracuse, Jan. 7, 1888, daughter of William H. and Emma I. Myers Preble.
She moved to Frankfort when she was a child and received her education there. She graduated from Utica Business Institute.
On June 16, 1909, she was married to Joseph H. Dumont who survives. Since 1910, they have resided in Whitesboro.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro and all its societies and taught Sunday School there for many years. She was also a deaconness for many years.
She leaves, besides her husband, several cousins.
The funeral will be at 2 Monday from the Dimbleby Funeral Home, Main at Brainard, with the Rev. William Belli, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Frankfort.

WHITESBORO - Joseph H. Dumont, 86, of 2 Palmer Ave., a retired steamfitter and plumber, died yesterday in Benn Nursing Home, Marcy.
He was born in Providence, R.I., and attended its schools. He came to Whitesboro more than 60 years ago. He married Lila May Preble m 1905. She died in 1960. Mr. Dumont was employed by the former Utica Knitting Corp. and Skenadoah Rayon Corp. and the former St. Luke's Hospital until his retirement in 1959.
He was a Protestant.
Surviving is a brother, John of Coventry, R. I.
The funeral will be at 1, Tuesday from the J. W. Dimbleby Funeral Home, with burial in Oakview Cemetery, Frankfort.

42-year Resident Dies in Hospital Here at Age of 68
Mrs. Irene Seymour Beyer, 68, of 5819 Blue Ridge Pl., died Saturday night at Wesley Hospital. Mrs. Beyer was born March 2, 1890, at Wellington, Kan. She had been a Wichita resident since 1916, having moved here from Fort Madison, Iowa.
She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and Women's Guild Windsor Circle, of the church. She was a Red Cross Gray lady for 10 years.
Survivors include her husband, John H., a grain buyer; two daughters, Miss Barbara Ann Beyer, of the home, and Mrs. Maxine Davidson, Tulsa, Okla.; and a brother, Asa Seymour, Tulsa.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Gordon Mortuary. The Rev. George Ogden Kirk, pastor of Plymouth Congregational Church, will officiate. Entombment will be in Old Mission Mausoleum.
