Howard Taylor a retired boat captain and 30-year resident of Dade County died Thursday at James Archer Smith Hospital in Homestead,
Mr. Taylor 59 had been the chief tour-boat operator in Everglades National Park for the past 23 years.
Born in Syracuse, N.Y., he began his career during the 1950s by chartering fishing boats in Marathon. His love of the outdoors and familiarity with Florida waterways enabled him to obtain a concession with the Everglades National Park at Flamingo. He retired in 1982.
Prior to his work at the park Mr. Taylor had worked as an engineer, commercial pilot, aerial photographer and dust-cropper — skills he developed while serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
His longest assignment at sea came in 1968 when he traveled to Alexandria Egypt to captain an oil transport vessel.
Mr. Taylor is survived by three daughters Noreen Chervinski, Debi Helman and Kathleen Trimble and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 6 pm today at the Lithgow South Miami Chapel Mr. Taylor’s ashes will be scattered over Florida Bay.

DOLGEVILLE - Donald C Borst 70. of 29 Spoffard Square, a retired employee of the Remington Arms Co. of Ilion, died Saturday evening in Little Falls Hospital after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Healey, two sons, Frank Borst of Iowa and John Borst of Salsbury Center, four daughters, Mrs. Mack (Donna) Allgood of New Hampshire, Mrs. Harold (Margie) DeCarr of Dolgeville. Mrs George (Cynthia) Foust of
Wampinger Falls, and Mrs Richard (Judith); Bartholomew of Holland Patent, nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held Tuesday at the convenience of the farmly from the Roberts Funeral Home, 3 Fable Ave. Dolgeville. Burial will be in Rural Park Cemetery. Inghams Mills Friends may call today 2-4 and 7-9.

The bride is a graduate of Ellis Hospital School of Nursing in Schenectady, and the bridegroom is with a radar squadron of the Air Force, stationed at Griffiss Air Force Base at Rome.

DOLGEVILLE - Miss Jeannie Helen Browne, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Arkell Browne, of New Bern., N. C., became the bride of Lt. Franklin John Borst, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Borst, of Spofford Ave., Dolgeville, on Dec. 19 in Christ Episcopal Church there.
The 4 p.m. ceremony was performed by the Rev. Charles E. Sharp. Mrs. Allan Siwasky was organist.
Given in marriage by her father, she was attended by her sister, Miss Millicent Browne, New York City.
Best man for his brother was John Carter Borst, Syracuse. Ushers were David DeMarco, Buffalo; Jean Paul Gareau, Havelock, N. C.; Lt. Donald Hellison, Cherry Point, N. C., and Harold Ostrom Jr., Dolgeville.
Guests were received in the parish house following the ceremony.
The new matron attended Campbell College. Her husband graduated from the State University College Cortland, with a BS degree. He was a member of Beta Phi Epsilon fraternity and letterman of the football squad and football team. He is squadron training officer at Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station. He will receive his captain's bars this month.

DOLGEVILLE - Kendrlck C. Borst, 63, a native of Dolgeville, died Sunday at Venice, Fla., where he has been residing the past year and a half. He had been ill a short time.
He was born July 28, 1913, at Dolgeville, the son of Carter and Ina Youker Borst. He attended Dolgeville schools and was graduated from Albany State University.
Mr. Borst had been employed for 37 years by the Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation, retiring as a supervisor in 1978. Most of that time be worked for the company at Dolgeville and for several years in Johnstown where he resided two or three years before moving to Venice.
He married the former Hilda Chatterton, who survives, Jan. 20,1940, in Dolgeville.
Mr. Borst was a member of the Venice Civic Club. He was a former member of Little Falls Elks Lodge and of the First Presbyterian Church, Dolgeville. He also was a former member and was master in 1961 of the Dolgeville Masonic Lodge.
Survivors, besides his wife, include one son, Richard A. Borst of Atlanta, Ga.; his mother who lives in Dolgeville and one brother. Donald Borst of Dolgeville.

Following a wedding reception held at tht M &M Taern in this vllage, the young couple left on their honeymoon.
Both Mr. and Mrs Borst attended the local schools and Mr. Borst was a star football player on several High school elevens.
